My first thought is "You have got to be kidding me! Does the term WAR mean nothing to you."

But then I realized you did not mention how far in the future you will be cruising. It does make a significant difference. Just Google Israel touring.

There's no WAR or even war in Israel at this time. And even during the recent rocket bombardment, nearly all the tourist areas were 100% safe. No tour company would take a visitor into a dangerous area.

May I just suggest that we focus on the original posters question rather than a discussion about whether or not it is prudent to visit know or in the future.

Personally, I don't think there is 100% of safety ANYWHERE...but in that part of the world, it's certainly not even close to 100% safety.

I don't know of anyone who can guarantee you that a location will be safe.

The OP didn't ask about safety at the port. Asked about a private guide.

In 2012 we used GUY Tours for a full day tour in Ashdod, and it was amazing. Our guide took the four of us (including 2 children) and made the day a really fantastic memory. I can highly recommend them.
