San Juan All-Inclusive Beach Break

Look up in this thread for all information. I did not see anywhere else, was not paying attention for that. San Juan's beach are public so not to many beach clubs. All the locals bring their own chairs and drinks.

Why i loved this day pass, it would be more expensive to eat and have a few drinks if you did it on your own.

Thank you, sounds like a good deal!

So here goes,

this day pass is in Isla Verde its a long stretch of beach. Service was great, food was good and i was served great rum punches!

I had beach chairs and umbrella included (everyone charges $5 usd for a chair and $7-10 usd for umbrellas on the beach). As far as food i had a chicken wrap with plantains, my friend had the fish, everything fresh and tasty.

6 local drinks included, premium brands are extra which i did not do, i was good with the local rum they served. Beer and wine was not included.

They serve you right on the beach and was able to stay as long as i wanted. As i was there for most of the day i went over my limit and had a couple more drinks.

I asked about weekends and they do hold your luggage in the reception area!

I asked to come back and get the same day pass and i was told to book through Island Marketing again for it is exclusive to them. Not sure how true it is but i did not go back.

If anyone has any other questions don't hesitate to ask.

Did this excursion last week. Just to clarify - this is not on Isla Verde Beach! It is on Ocean Park Beach. I have never been to Isla Verde, but the cab driver said that Isla Verde was a nicer beach with calmer waves. The waves at Ocean Park the day we were there were quiet rough, we did not go in the water past our knees.

It was a very nice beach. Myself and the other 2 friends I went with had a really nice day. Well worth the $45. The food and drinks were very good.

Ok i never asked the Taxi driver i just asked him to take me to the beach club and just took it for granted it is Isla Verde being so close. Funny about the waves, when i was there it was calm and had a great time hanging in the water.

It was a very nice beach and i too was really happy with the service, food and drinks. Need some sun soon.

According to its website, Pamelas Restaurant and Numero Uno's location is Ocean Park, not Isla Verde. Ocean Park is much closer to the port and San Juan than Isla Verde.

I saw that, jjj corrected me. I thought it was great especially the price everything included, chairs, umbrella drinks, food, showers and a place to change. Great service...

Loved the old city especially hanging out like a local, liked it so much will spend 5 nights in June during my holidays. Not sure before or after my cruise. I guess will see according to plane and hotel prices. Will definitely pre book my beach days with Island Marketing, cant beat the price.

Has anyone done this excursion on embarkation day? I noticed on the website they offer luggage storage..... looking for something like this on embarkation day since we don't set sail until 10 pm.

Hi QTPieRye! The marriott stellaris has a day pass you can do! We did this in January and it was perfect. You get to use the whole hotel, beach, pool, casino..and a voucher for food! Check it out!

Thanks! That's one of the hotels we were thinking about staying at pre-cruise, should we end up flying down the day before :)

Hi Beachbride - do you remember how much the day pass was? Also, do you have to prereserve it or do you buy one when you arrive? In the lobby, by the pool? I looked at their website but didn't see any info.

If you can share more on it, I would appreciate it! Thanks!

Does anyone know if this is where Carnival does the Surf Lesson excursion? I am trying to narrow down the resort so i can spend the day while my son and his friend surf. Carnival is just telling me Isla Verde. ??? Looks like there are a lot of Isla Verde's on the map. Does anyone know? The ship is selling just chairs and umbrella for the day for $37.00pp. I'm thinking it may be cheaper for us to book on our own and just book the Surfing excursions through the ship. Any advise?

I love all the positive things about Numero Uno, however there was no mention of a pool.

Can anyone answer if there is a pool at this hotel or just the ocean?

Norma

There is no pool per say to swim in, in this hotel, but a great big ocean! I really enjoyed it.

I am so happy to have found this thread I am curious what is the cost for the taxi?

We are doing this in November. Here is info re taxi: Due to port regulations in Puerto Rico, we cannot include transportation from your port. make your way to the taxi stand located at the entrance of your terminal. Have the taxi take you to the PAMELAS RESTAURANT AT UNO HOTEL AND BEACH CLUB located approximate 15 minutes from your cruise ship pier at 1 Calle Santa Ana, Ocean Park San Juan, Puerto Rico. The cost of a taxi for up to 4 people each way is approximately $19.00usd, $2.00 for every extra person and $2.00 for every piece of luggage. The drive is Approximately 15mins to the beach club from the pier, Old San juan or the air port. Please inform the staff at the beach club when you would like for them to order you a taxi for your return to your cruise ship pier or your hotel. Upon your arrival, please check in with the cashier and present this letter of confirmation. Here you will pay the balance of your excursion in cash.

I should point out that since we booked, Puerto Rico sales tax went up to 11% and we now have to pay $6 more which is not a deal breaker but still... I did ask why they just couldn't honor our original price and I received a email saying that it was out of their control. Still a great bargain considering how much you get. Plus the beach looks really nice.

Thank you so much Jean for passing on this very helpful information. So exactly what is it now costing you per person not including the taxi?

the price and details that I used was a cut and paste from the email that island marketing sent me for our day in November, 2015. I don't know when you may have visited but perhaps they changed their policy with accepting credit cards?

;) Good to know. I will ask them to take the credit card when we get there in November and if they don't go for it, I will pay cash.

Okay so I booked this and was SUPER excited about it. This was my first cruise mind you. This is my story: we got off the boat and head for the taxi's. Taxi driver speaks maybe 3 words of English which was very hard and Google Translate was not helping. I tell her where I wanted to go, she was googling the place because she had never heard of it before and used Google Maps to find it.

After driving through what looked like the ghetto... as in piles of garbage everywhere, saw someone smoking crack on a few corners, homeless all over, everyone has bars on everything... we arrive at the end of a street with this little white building that looked more like a house than a resort. There was a little sign on it that said Pamela's (the restaurant it seems) and the taxi driver looked surprised and went in to confirm this was the place. It was.

She came back and I looked at my daughter and she was terrified. I had a VERY BAD feeling about it. And after much google translation, made her take me back to the ship.

They can keep the money. I don't even care. I am a single mom travelling alone with my 13 year old daughter. In a country where we do not speak the language and to be dropped off in an area like that? Absolutely not. Next time I will go through the cruise ship for excursions until I am more comfortable on my own.
