What if your travel partner is pregnant? Would they still make both buy the program even if they aren't going to drink at all?

I don't see the bargain... If there are 2 passengers over 21 in the same cabin on a 7 day cruise.... does your bar tab really surpass $700 for the week???

ANYONE over 21 in the same cabin must purchase the program.... Maybe being pregnant might be an exception... ????

I think it's a good deal, as long as gratuities are added to the package price, i.e. $42 + 15%.

If they add the 15% on a drink by drink basis, it may up the price overall too much. This would also seriously defeat one major benefit of the package, which is the idea that you are all pre-paid and there will be no surprises on the S&S card...

Good grief... If you drink 6 DODs over the course of a day you would spend at least $90 a day. Since alcohol is processed at approximately 1 oz per hour by the human liver, if one drinks one DOD every two hours then, yes, they would remember their cruise because they would not be falling down drink like half the CC posters seem to think happens when someone says they can drink 6 drinks in a 24 hour period. :rolleyes:

This would deter me from smuggling and probably even buying through BV because of the inconvenience of smuggling and having to keep going to the cabin to mix drinks.

When I cruise, I am on vacation, I want to drink and have fun since I do not when not on vacation. I like to drink on a cruise because I don't have to drive to my cabin from the casino. And please don't start in about not having to drink to have fun, I have plenty of fun on land without drinking...

Some folks think it's too much $$$$, well fine, then so be it. But please don't give us drunkards your financial advice! :p

On Glory, the average price for a drink on the dinner menu was about $7-9. 4 to 6 drinks a day (equates to the $43 a day price) depending on the price of the drink, may be ideal for some people who love to drink all day long. For me, I usually have one glass of wine or a martini for dinner and maybe a glass of something in the afternoon. So i'll just stick with the soda package for my kids and call it a day.

According to John Heald, the gratuities are based on the $42 charge, not on a per drink basis. I don't know where the idea came from that it could be on a per drink basis. It's just like purchasing the soda card. Gratuities are a one time thing, not based on per glass.

As long as the "drunkards" dont interfere with the rest of us who will have much less over the course of a day fine.

my comment was based on the line, on the flyer posted above,

*prices are per day, not including gratuity

that is not clear. if they said 42.95 per day *plus 15% gratuity that would be clear. i've heard and it would make sense that it should be based on the package cost, but regardless the way they worded it is not clear, that is all.

i don't care though, i'd buy it either way. :D

Liquor from BV is about $60/bottle so if there are 2 people in a room that's about 1.6 bottles of liquor for 2 people per day. I know my wife and I could never do that. But some folks might.:)

currently only victory and splendor.

wish they included more. Sailed on Costa a few years ago and purchased their all inlcusive package. They included water, speciality coffee, hot chocolate, premium juice along with soda, beer, wine and alcohol drinks under a certain dollar amount. Kids were able to get banana splits and such from the ice cream station which was normally an extra fee. I was even able to order buckets of beer and bottles of wine if they were under a certain $ amount. Sounds like there are too many restrictions on Carnivals package to make it worth while. Wish they at least included water and premium coffee.

nobody knows. they haven't said. but it only took them about a week or two to put it on the splendor so i see that as a positive indicator.

I wish specialty coffee had been included. I would be all over it. I don't drink soda and only wine with dinner and maybe one DOD a day. I could easily drink 4 coffees a day

Wow, no buckets or souvenir glasses is going to scare a LOT of drunks off of buying this package. As it is, my DW isn't interested if you can't get bottled water, and even if you could get it, who will drink that much to make the deal worth it?
