My Awesome Bar Program flyer

Wow, no buckets or souvenir glasses is going to scare a LOT of drunks off of buying this package. As it is, my DW isn't interested if you can't get bottled water, and even if you could get it, who will drink that much to make the deal worth it?

I wonder if you can buy it when you buy your cruise, that way you can "pay payments" to reduce the on ship costs?

We would sign up for this in a second. Except for one thing no "BUCKETS OF BEER". I like to go up to the lido deck get 2 buckets and DW and I love hanging out and relaxing in the afternoon on our wonderful aft balcony.

So we'll see what happens, and we'll figure it out.:)

Carnival and Celebrity are two totally different cruises...

I have to say that the majority of the people I saw on the Celebrity Solstice looked like they'd be right at home on Carnival or any of the mainstream lines.

I couldn't believe that before we got on the Solstice, I actually worried slightly if DH and I would fit in with the more upper crust (possibly stuffy)Celebrity crowd and if my dinner outfits would be nice enough. Lol.

That sounds great if I could drink that much ! I'll continue to carry on my soda and drink ice tea & Lemonade .. : )

Ditto!! And for that price there should not be so many petty exclusions! It should include all but top-shelf and bottle of liquor.

still not sure if this is a good deal we're taking our soon to be 21 year old on a cruise so it might be worth the $903 for the 3 of us

we have sailed celebrity 2 times and purched there drink package, i was worried that we would not get are monies worth because i am not a big drinker, but each time i counted the bar slips on the final bill and multipied them by the lowest bar drink and we went over the 44$ per day, even one cruise only has 2 sea days, if you factor in 3-4 drink durning the day and wine at dinner and a couple of drinks at the shows or casino you will spent way more than that per day if you paid for each drink:)

DH is a pretty big drinker, me not so much but more on a cruise than at home. So I think financially this would make sense for us.

I am wondering if the level of service would be affected. After the first day or so the bartenders get to know DH is a big drinker and the service is very good. With this program, if the gratuity is only 15% of the $42.95 instead of 15% of each drink I am not so sure.

I really hope this rolls out fleet wide, I was already planning to take $600 for my upcoming cruise, but if they offer this program I'd be willing to spend the extra $100 for myself and bf to have unlimited soda, beer and frozen drinks. That's only 6 drinks a day which I could enjoy 3 throughout the day a glass of wine at dinner and 2 in the piano bar and feel I've gotten my money's worth! Sounds like a great program to me!:D

I may have missed it but would the new program get you drinks at HMC? Since you use your S&S card on HMC to but drinks I would think it should apply. Just not going to assume.

Good point and excellent question. Hopefully soon we'll hear from someone who purchased the program.

Too many limitations. No specialty coffees or bottled water. Celebrity's program is a real all inclusive, anything and everything is included.

I don't care about the bottled water, but completely agree about the specialty coffees. Plus ordering wine by the glass at dinner wouldn't do it - we usually split a bottle, and while we often don't finish it, I wouldn't want to be waiting on service by the glass (which is typically very slow).

I would certainly consider this option for dh & i...but not when we were traveling with the kids.

i could certainly get my "drink on" without them lol. but at least i wouldn't have to wake up at the crack of dawn to take care of them lol. i could sleep in.

i too would be concerned about how the service would be. already with the soda card they act like you are beating them when you request a drink. next thing you know, someone will say we still need to tip yet again, and more.

i also would hope that this would be available from all bars-not just one specific location, and that all waitstaff could bring/serve it.

it would have to be convenient for me. I wouldn't want to wonder all over the ship looking for the correct location for my beverage lol.

Good grief... If you drink 6 DODs over the course of a day you would spend at least $90 a day. Since alcohol is processed at approximately 1 oz per hour by the human liver, if one drinks one DOD every two hours then, yes, they would remember their cruise because they would not be falling down drink like half the CC posters seem to think happens when someone says they can drink 6 drinks in a 24 hour period.

This would deter me from smuggling and probably even buying through BV because of the inconvenience of smuggling and having to keep going to the cabin to mix drinks.

When I cruise, I am on vacation, I want to drink and have fun since I do not when not on vacation. I like to drink on a cruise because I don't have to drive to my cabin from the casino. And please don't start in about not having to drink to have fun, I have plenty of fun on land without drinking...

Some folks think it's too much $$$$, well fine, then so be it. But please don't give us drunkards your financial advice! :p

I like you...tell it like it is! I haven't decided if I'd get the package or not, but it is easy to spend 50$ a day on drinks throughout the day without ever getting drunk and, like you, I don't drink very much when not cruising so I do not have a high tolerance like I did in my 20s. Cheers to all!

Sorry about the crease. It was in my pocket for part of the afternoon.

THANK YOU for posting this. It answers my questions about room service/mini bars and bottled water. I think room service/mini bar and water should be included as well. Bummer. Also, it looks like you can't get your souvenir glass with this either. I don't really need anymore of those but you would have to be careful to not buy one off the trays they carry around.
