Letting kids in the Solarium for a couple of hours-Opinions?
nednrom replied to cruisekitty22's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I've had problems with some of the snoring adults in the solarium who think that the Solarium should be a quiet place for them to take a nap all day long. We were approached and hushed while we were talking in the jacuzzi (not yelling across the pool) by being informed that some people were unable to sleep. 5-7pm under 16 is fine as long as it doesn't spill into the rest of the day. -
Booked for Christmas week 2025 for a retirement celebration and was able to get a veranda on the starboard side. Category V1, not found on any other E class. We will see how it turns out, the IV category I booked while Edge was being built was turned into an Aqua class cabin with no extra charge.

We booked Dec 21st - a short getaway for my birthday christmas eve.

The Solarium is on Royal Caribbean Ships. There is an indoor pool and hot tubs on the Meraviglia with a retractable roof which is a family pool and it has two levels. An area with only hot tubs and sunbeds is Top 19 which is only for Auera cabin guests with key card entry and it is outdoor area

At the ripe age of 60, if wearing casual clothes on a caribbean cruise is considered having no class, then so be it. I will proudly claim that I have no class. I understand the inappropriateness of the drunks in public but you can't compare it to casual clothing.

He launched new ships and acted as a cruise director for the new ships for a couple of months and then went to the office to launch the next new ship. He just got off the Seascape - such a nice, sweet guy. So sad, he talked about the sad personal stuff in his life as if they were a joke but you never know what people are hiding ... so sad

THE WORST CRUISE I'VE TAKEN and the RESPONSE FROM MSC.
nednrom replied to scorpiony3358's topic in MSC Cruises
Pardon me, the last time I cruised Carnival was 2017, last time I cruised Celebrity was 2018 so they may have changed. When you have onboard credit and you prepay, it deducts it from your OBC, you don't have to put in your CC information and you're not charged. I would have contacted my TA at that point to ask about the OBC. -

I've been on an inaugural cruise and there is something given out to commemorate the occasion. MSC gave nothing!(You have this letter and your fond memories!) I love this statement -

I've also been cruising for over 25 years and I've had some bad cruises myself. I don't think that compensation is warrented here. Whether you like something or not is subjective and not a reason to compensate a passenger. You might have been better off just bringing up the billing issue. Even then: 1. If you're given on board credit, you cannot spend it before getting onboard. That is true for all cruise lines - you prepaid for a drink package and dinner package and had $500 on board credit to spend after that. 2. Some of the onboard credit can be non-refundable (on any cruise line) - whether it's refundable or non-refundable should be on your invoice. 3. You can't get compensated for a cruise becase you didn't like the entertainment, food, service etc. espcially since you didn't miss any ports. My travel agent was told that Seascape could not guarantee an extension cord for my husband's CPAP so we took both water and extension cord with us. Maybe your TA is not too familiar with MSC. This kind of principle holds true for all service industries. If you're in the music industry you may know - I can't return tickets to a concert or I couldn't return a music CD once I opened it whether I liked the music on it or not.- 194 replies

Cigarette Smoking/Vaping/E-Cigarette Question - MSC Seascape
nednrom replied to martiniren's topic in MSC Cruises
Smoking - cigarets, cigars, e-cigs are not allowed in cabins, balconies. They are only allowed in designated areas which are: Casino ( the only inside area on the ship) Deck 8 outside starboard side by the infinity pool, Deck 8 outside starboard side midship by loft cafe, Deck 19 outside by the Marina bar. They actually have very comfortable seats and ASHTRAYS for disposal. I know because my husband is a smoker and we were on the SEascape a month ago. Check MSC website. -
There is a thermal spa area on the Seascape. There are 2 steam rooms (different types), 2 saunas (lower heat and regular sauna), snow room and a salt room. There is also a large hydrotherapy whirlpool and a hot tub and several different types of showers. It is $ 130per week if you prepay. I really enjoyed it. The only thing that bothered me was that the towels were in the changing rooms and not in the thermal area.
