  1. Try the melting cake with the butter pecan ice cream. My husband says its the best! (I don't eat the melting cake very often, but if I do I am a straight up kind of girl)
  2. Since you are basically dealing with any random call center person with little authority if you are not using a PVP, then you need to ask for a supervisor. Call back, explain the situation again to the call center person you get and ask for it to be fixed. They can't manipulate the rate code now, but they can add OBC. If they can't help you then ask for a supervisor, continue up the chain until you get someone that can do something (as in if the next "supervisor" can't do it, ask for someone over them... etc.). I had a similar issue 2 times over the last 10 years or so, once my PVP was able to go to his manager directly and get some OBC added for something they messed up. Another time (after we were Diamond) I called the Diamond desk direct and they manually added some OBC. So, this (adding manual OBC) I know can be done. It may take some time on the phone, but don't give up without a fight. Be nice and friendly (this goes a lot further than being irate with them), but be persistent. 😁 These are the times that a PVP worth their weight really comes in handy!
  3. The only point I was making was they didn't take the mushrooms away for the couple of us that enjoyed a spoon on the side either, which is what you kind of implied. 😁
  4. So, what rate did you think you were booking. You said you didn't "think you were booking ES" It is important to know what rate you are booking under when you do so you know what rules apply 😁 Also, I have heard of people not getting a response to their first request on the ES form, if it has been more than 72 hrs, I would send it again.
  5. So sorry this is happening to you.... but unfortunately sometimes these things take some time. Cancelling this close to your cruise and expecting that it would absolutely be there before you left was hopeful at best. I'm happy to have it back in 2 or 3 weeks. It was taking 2-3 months for a while!
  6. Uh, no. Someone else already posted that they said they took them away because no one ate them. As I said, I only took a little bit because I knew they were meant to be a topping. BRING them back! I'll chow them all down. I can see it though because mushrooms are a very dividing food, a LOT of people do not like them. I can tell you I never saw the mushrooms empty... now the bacon crumbles they pulled too. That was empty all the time!
  7. AFT Starboard side probably. I would check back again closer to when you cruise. Even like up till the day before.
  8. Not just the pool, but their balcony. They think because it is THEIR balcony they can listen to whatever they want really loudly! 😖
  9. OOOO I forgot the Pumpkin and Mushroom soup. I mentioned the tomato and "most of the soups" but those are two of my favorites too.
  10. ES is stated as only available until 76 days before sailing, Carnival must have decided to extend this offer past this mark, which they have the right to do. When booking I would hope the OP would have been cognizance of what rate they were booking under by asking if they did it by phone, or it is clearly listed what rate you are choosing if you purchase it yourself online. Knowing the rate you are booked under is critical to understanding all the rules that apply to that fare. Since the rules say the 110% guarantee doesn't apply to all ships/sailings/rates, it could be the case that ES doesn't allow for this, and you have to apply for the ES rate reduction through the form. That would make sense too.
  11. Ya sorry, mine all came back as hard cards (even though a bunch were virtual cards). Took about a week and a half or so this last time.
  12. Their website can be wonky enough, I can't imagine them trying to keep an app running right too. 🤣
  13. Wonder if it had something to do with the cookies. I have had that issue before where it was being stupid for different reasons and once I cleared everything else out it would work
  14. You can also request a different server area if you have had bad experience. We have done that 1 time in almost 50 cruises. Our service staff was just horrible,
  15. Just an FYI.. I only every received an email refund gift card once. ALL others came Fed Ex. The only reason I got the one emailed was because they had sent gift card refunds back to me Fed Ex and missed the amount by like $5. They emailed me one for the $5
  16. No, and I did not imply I did, I was just making a suggestion as to why Carnival may have rejected it. I also can see where it doesn't say same specifically this in the rules; however, I would be willing to bet it could be a reason it was denied. Because the booking was under one rate and the new lower rate was under another and since it was not apples to apples they denied it, that would be why Carnival told them they had to fill out the ES form. Also, there are a bunch of loop holes as to why Carnival could deny the 110% guarantee. One's that we as consumers would never know. It says things like not on certain sailings, limited capacities, etc. All those vague terms that give them a way out.
  17. If you file the price match guarantee EVERYTHING has to be exactly the same to get the 110% guarantee. If it is not exactly the same in EVERY aspect then there is no price match. Only works apples to apples. If you see a lower price and have ES, then it doesn't have to be the same rate code - it can be any rate code that you are eligible for and they will price adjust to that. So if you booked under ES and then say saw a past guest rate that is lower and you are eligible they will price mach. That is the difference.
  18. I swear they have Orange Pop too, I drink it sometimes.
  19. If you have certain rate codes which guarantee you can price adjust up until sailing. Early Saver is this, if you find (at anytime after you book right up to - I think 3 days - before sailing) that the rate has gone down you can fill out the ES form and submit it and they will honor that price. If you haven't paid in full the will reduce the amount you owe. If you have paid in full, it comes back as OBC. If you had a PVP they can usually just do the adjustment for you and you don't have to go through filling out the form. Now here is ALL the fine print for the 110% guarantee, read this and you may find your answer, there is a lot of rules *Rates are per person, based on category 4A and above, double occupancy, capacity controlled, and cruise only. 20. Are you allowed to take a Yeti-style stainless cup to use onboard? If so, can you use this cup to refill with ice and water onboard? YES, just make sure it is empty. Also, please remind them do not just refill your cup direct from spouts. Always grab a fresh clean cup, fill that and then dump into your cup. This avoids germs being cross contaminated. Will there be a hair dryer in each stateroom... or must she take one with her from home? Yes, there is a hairdryer If her daughter's passport does not arrive in time, will they accept a certified birth certificate to board the ship? Drivers License and Photo ID will work. Also as someone else mentioned, just preorder Carnival's 12 packs of water so much easier and not that expensive.
  21. The ship stays on the same time as the port it leaves from. As mz-s said you can request YTD. If you use the hub app to check in, just tell them when you get down there that you would prefer to sit in the same section with the same waiter. We do it all the time.
  22. If you are recovering from back surgery not sure you should ride it. It's not hard really, but you are still going to be putting stain on your back, that could be sketchy. Your call though. It is like riding a sitting stationary bike. Some force is needed to peddle, but not an excessive amount because it glides on the track pretty good. When you hit a dip, you can stop peddling and glide a bit too. The uphill parts are a little harder.
  23. Don't get me wrong, I like it - just seems like people rave about it. I used to like the chocolate melting cake too (still like the flavor, but they really under cook it now for my taste - and I have a great recipe and just make it at home now when I want that).
  24. we be cruzin. Just had to say, I noticed you were on the Holiday back in the day. We sailed on her once years and years ago. We were at our last port - Calica off Mexico and it was a tender port. They got in late and didn't anchor and started letting people off the ship on the tender boats so they didn't miss their excursions. They drifted and grounded the ship on the reef off shore. It was a nightmare. We were stuck on shore for hours while they tried to use tender boats and ropes off the ship to pull her off. That was a joke. When we did get back on she was listing slightly. They had to empty the entire ship the next day by putting passengers on ferry's, taking us down the coast a ways and put us on buses to take us to Cancun airport - and then fly us back to the US. That was when Cancun airport was tiny... so 2000# passengers, and all our luggage was a nightmare. They literally brought all the luggage in by semi... set it all out in the parking lot and everyone had to find their own. That was my 2nd cruise on Carnival. 1st cruise I got the flu the first day we boarded and spent the entire cruise in my room sick. It's a wonder I ever cruised again lol! Finally decided after a 2 year break that at this point all my bad luck had to be out of the way, so gave her a go again and haven't looked back.
