  1. Nope the "frosting" on the outside is different now. The chocolate doesn't have that great fudgy ganache it had before. Still good though.
  2. Haven't had the mushroom for a least a year or more. 😔
  3. If you can do all that, you'll be fine. It was much easier than riding a normal bike and glided very well.
  4. Yep, coins it is. Elation is one of the older ones left that still takes quarters.
  5. Some of the older ships I have seen actually still take Quarters. The other option is a scanner that uses your room key. You can not use a Credit Card, it will be one of these 2 options.
  6. With an hour time difference I don't know if I would chance it. I do believe they have an "early arrivals" line as well, but it all depends on how many people there are, the gate agents, etc. Sometimes early arrivals have no issue (I have seen them just waving everyone through regardless of their boarding times), and I have seen them strictly adhere to the arrival windows and turn people away too.
  7. There is plenty of seating for everyone inside the building. The arrival times are so that people enter in an orderly manner to allow them to check people in and move them on to the waiting areas. It spreads it all out instead of having huge lines of lots and lots of people all at once waiting together. There are lines clearly marked for the different groups of people, on time arrivals, priority, etc. The lines if you are in your approved time slot move fast and you are in the building pretty quick. Know that with as big of gap as you have between your time and the others you mention, you likely will already be on board by the time they get to enter the building for check in.
  8. Dang, if I had known that I would have taken more. I always tried to just take a spoonful as a side, because I know they were meant more to be a topping on a burger and I didn't want to scarf them all up eating them as a side dish. Bring back the mushrooms! I WILL EAT MORE!
  9. Mmmmmm mushrooms. I loved their mushrooms. I would just go get a spoonful to put on my plate as a side.
  10. One final thought, log out, clear your cookies/history. Then go in and look at your booking to see if the full $400 was applied or just $350. If only $350, try again once you have logged out and cleared all your history/cookies.
  11. Check your original deposits. I have had something wonky happen where I thought I was only applying a partial amount, but it applied the entire amount of the card instead. So perhaps instead of $350, you actually paid the full $400? Also, how long ago did you use the card for the deposit as compared to now? Only reason I ask is because I know there have been reports over the years here on CC where people have had their gift cards stolen. Thieves are extremely adept at figuring these codes out. That is why I try not to sit on my gift cards too long. If the full $400 was not applied, I would be on the phone to Carnival right now, your PVP if you have one. If not, I wouldn't waste my time with a general representative, I would go to the technical department first.
  12. Yea, I just checked mine too. It doesn't give you the specific code at all. GUEST NOTES 1) This is confirmation that a payment was posted associated with your booking. 2) A valid and qualifying VIFP Club Member number is required from at least one person in the stateroom to be eligible for this offer. Subsequent upgrades in lieu of price protection will no longer be offered. Promotional deposit for 1st and 2nd guest is non-refundable. If a guest selects a guarantee cabin, Carnival will assign the stateroom at a later time. Guests who select the ocean view or balcony stateroom types may be assigned partially to fully obstructed views. Cancellation penalties apply. Offer not available for group bookings.
  13. Yep, was traveling with mom and hers went missing. We found it at like 10pm the first night. They took her to a section of the ship where they had "unidentified" luggage at. Her Carnival tag had been ripped off (even though is was tied on very well). She had her name and home address tag on the outside too, but I guess they didn't bother to look at that one. All the more reason I always carry on only. Also, just posted something on this. Right from Carnival's cruise contract. They are only liable for $50 per suite case / $100 max per room (regardless of number of bags/passengers).
  14. Favorites: Escargot Tomato Soup (actually I really like a lot of their soups) Braised Short Rib Grilled Shrimp Baked Alaska
  15. Wow, OK, learn something new everyday. This would never have even crossed my mind as a "thing" to worry about.
  16. Duh, posted on wrong one. But kind of applies here too. With FTTF you get to drop you luggage when you get on (whole other topic on this, that's why I goofed). Nice to be able to do that with FTTF and carry on.
  17. AARP takes VISA as payment so I would assume it likely would work?
  18. Was looking for something else in the legal ease in the contract and found the following line. This is all the more reason to pack light and carry on. We haven't checked bags in years, and never knew their limit was $50 pp/$100 max per room! The freaking suit case is worth more than what they will reimburse let alone anything in it. 😲 (d) It is stipulated and agreed that the aggregate value of Guest’s property, does not exceed $50 USD per Guest or bag with a maximum value of $100 USD per stateroom regardless of the number of occupants or bags and any liability of Carnival for any cause whatsoever with respect to said property shall not exceed such sum, unless the Guest shall in writing, delivered to Carnival, prior to embarkation, declare the true value thereof and pay to Carnival prior to embarkation a sum equal to 5% of the excess of such value.
  19. I always just go to the customer service desk and they have someone escort us. Never noticed a specific place to go otherwise.
  20. Yep, good point. We ran into that too. We used our passport in November '22 and it expired like 1 or 2 weeks after the end of our cruise, then had another cruise in January. Did it as soon as we got home and luckily had it about 2 weeks before our cruise. Didn't do it sooner because of cruise in October. 🙃
  21. This is an usual situation in my experiance. I have not heard of anyone being denied the option to drop the luggage if they were Suite/Diamond/Platinum/FTTF I have been questioned coming down the hallway (told rooms aren't ready yet), and when I replied I am Diamond just dropping my luggage... they were like "Oh, yes then go ahead" There may have been some issue with the room that needed resolved since this poster indicated they were on by 10:15 (which is really early). Not sure.
  22. Never hurts to ask. Honestly, I would be afraid the pop would be a hot mess by the time it got to the room (especially in a soft side cooler). I think they do it because as a liquid it is going to be more scrutinized through the carry on scanners versus the ship scanners for general bags. I have heard a lot of people comment on the boards about how their pop was checked over even by hand looking at the carton, etc.
  23. Couldn't have said it better! Used to be when they first started the program boarding (and the entire process starting at the port door) seemed to take forever. I can't believe how much the boarding process has improved over the years. I remember my 1st cruise 20 years ago and OMG, the entire process was so long and tedious. Now everything happens so fast! Much improved. FTTF might get on like 10-15 minutes before general boarding groups.
  24. We l like them very much, ordered a Chocolate one for my hubby's birthday when we cruise in 2 weeks. Though I will say I like the old chocolate cake better than the new chocolate cakes.
