  1. Um, OP specifically used the terms Loud, Obnoxious, Rude. Doesn't sound like someone just uttered a 4 letter word to me. I get the impression it was probably way more then that.
  2. So there was just a big long thread on someone criticizing Carnival about missing out on their free stuff. There was a lot of back and forth about being notified/not being notified. I just noticed, if you go into your account and look under benefits, they have actually updated this and it tells you specifically where to go for things like: Water Pin Gifts Chocolate Delight Etc. So, for those that were unsure, or have their nose out of place because they weren't specifically instructed, this is where it is at now (and obviously is a permanent situation post covid).
  3. So, I have to wonder. Received my pre-boarding letter from Carnival and in it this section: "We want you to have a memorable vacation but please remember a cruise ship is a shared space. Our Carnival Values underscore that everyone should feel welcome and included, and that everyone on board demonstrate care and respect towards others. Our experience has taught us that everyone has a better time when children are supervised, noise in the hallways is kept to a minimum, guests follow queues, and that a spirit of community and neighborliness is shown by all. Consistent with our commitment to safety, disruptive behavior is not tolerated and any guest whose conduct affects the comfort, enjoyment, safety or well-being of other guests or crew will be disembarked at their own expense and banned from sailing on Carnival in the future. All guests must acknowledge and commit to our code of conduct during the check-in process, and any violation may result in a fine of $500, possible stateroom confinement and removal from the ship. Guest may also be liable for reimbursement of expenses incurred by Carnival as a result of the detainment or disembarkation." Wouldn't the type of behavior the OP mentioned really be covered by this? I would think it is "disruptive behavior" which "is not tolerated" that "affects the comfort, enjoyment, safety or well-being of other guests" So there you go, they really already have a policy 😁
  4. Need to read better. I did not say carnival "never" enforces the rules. I said they are never going to enforce a rule against swearing. Then I said Carnival doesn't enforce the rules they have already. Which is a fact. I have seen security step in a couple times. But, I have seen bad behavior that should have been stopped not stopped way more.
  5. So to the OP's original point... First, I think the were not referring to actual children - they were using that term to highlight the immaturity of the adults behavior. Second, I agree with the OP. This type of behavior really is unacceptable. Why should I have to hear your vulgarity and obnoxious behavior. It is my vacation too. Now mind you, this is coming from someone that swears (in my own home or under my breathe or in the right kind of company). I am a "you do you and I'll do me" kind of gal, but when your behavior intrudes on me - then guess what, it isn't you doing you anymore and I got a problem with it. Carnival policing this is never going to happen. They don't enforce the rules they have that are related to even bigger items then this. However, it is a sad commentary on our society as a whole how many people think this is acceptable behavior. It is just like all the other rude, self centered behavior you see every day. Very sad indeed.
  6. Believe it or not, I have read studies that say that people who curse actually may have a higher vocabulary which is a sign of intelligence. LOL
  7. At least in the comedy club, they give you a warning and you can leave.
  8. The $500 is the limit of how much you can pre-purchase in cruise cash. Once on board you can use more gift cards to add to your sail and sign account if you wish.
  9. If you loaded the gift cards as general cruise cash you can use that for anything you buy on the ship including the casino. Anything you buy is deducted from your on board account, and any amounts you upload to your players bank as you play come from your on board account.
  10. You need to clarify: If you want to use it to make a payment on your cruise balance, you will need to go into the payment screens and select gift card as your payment method If you want to add it as spending money (Onboard Credit - OBC), you would want to buy cruise cash. Look for the Funshops icon on the home screen when you log in. Make sure you select the right kind of cruise cash. Cruise Cash can be used for anything, other types are JUST for pictures, or just for bar purchases. Keep in mind if you don't spend all your cruise cash you buy you will loose it. You can cash it out though in the casino by uploading it to your players bank, then play a spin or two, then just cash out to your players bank and go to the cage to get your money.
  11. I think that term could apply to most short cruises on just about any cruise line (except the really highfalutin ones) - especially at certain times of the year (like SPRING BREAK) 😁 It isn't just Carnival.
  12. I run hot too! What I have found is for the most part - if I am down to my undies I can be comfortable. There is another thread going about fans - I posted a link for the BEST little fan I have every seen in my life. I take this and it really makes all the difference. The rooms staying at the temp you mentioned is likely not going to happen all the time. And certain ships in certain locations of the ship run way hotter. This doesn't just apply to the rooms either. I find the casino is always really cool on most ships, but we sailed on one last year and it was HOT! Too hot to be comfortable so we didn't stay long. If the ship is sitting in port and the sun is beating on it (especially on your side of the ship) your room is going to get warm Better to be prepared with a fan or something to help.
  13. I used to have a GREAT PVP that was invaluable, then he got promoted. Before him I always booked myself (10 years or so). Took me about 6 months to find another pretty good PVP, during that time I called the Diamond desk to book. I think PVP's are invaluable when ever you have a problem, that is why I book with them. I can do it myself, but when something does go wrong, I have to change stuff, want a price adjustment or have a problem a good PVP is worth their weight in gold. And it wouldn't be right to expect a good PVP to help me if I didn't book it with them so they got the credit too.
  14. Another good time I have found is around 9pm. Seems like most people are still out milling about and if we are back in our room and I go to do a load I have the whole place to myself usually.
  15. Right? Love them. As I said I use one on my nightstand at home and replaced a larger 10-12" one. These are great!
  16. PS: The first time you put your card in a machine you will set up a players bank with pin etc. You can then add money to your players bank via your sail and sign card (which draws from your on board account and however that is funded - credit card or cash). You will also cash out your players bank with your sail and sign card too. You take your card to the cage and tell them you want to cash out your players bank. They do not pay out change, only dollars. House keeps the change. Remember to cash out any money in your players bank the last night on the cruise.
  17. If you are in a Suite, Diamond, Platinum or FTTF then you can "access" your cabin when you board to drop your luggage only. Do not linger or stay, get in and get out. Then you can come back to stay at 1:30. Everyone else has to wait until 1:30 to even go to their cabin at all (can't drop their luggage or anything).
  18. Or they may just hand you the $25... that's what they did to us the last 2 times.
  19. Someone that has had this happen can chime in. However, I would assume it would be on your 2nd cruise. Just because it is a back to back, does not mean it all becomes one cruise. It is still separate cruises and the benefits would be applied on the 2nd cruise when they would normally take effect based on the number of days. The fact they are B2B is irrelevant I would think. Be it B2B or a year apart, it is the actual cruise you hit the days sailed requirement.
  20. So yes, you would need to add "someone" as the 2nd guest in the room then. Good thing they are standing up and paying their way even thought they can go. BONUS for you. Room all to yourself. Just let them know that the taxes and gratuities will be refunded back to them when you return. I think you may get is OBC with a no show for the taxes and port fees (someone can jump in her and confirm). This means you will have to pay them. You can cash out some money in the casino to return to them if that helps. OR just consider it for your own spending and reimburse them yourself when you get home.
  21. Not at all, as I stated, have to take the good with the bad. Have 3 more booked this year and 1 for next year already. Just a fact of society today. Doesn't matter if you are cruising or anywhere else. There are going to be people that are rude, care only for their wants, don't mind their children, etc. However, to the point of my posts. There IS most certainly a difference in the demographic and what you experience depending on the cruise length, destination and time of year you cruise with Carnival. This is readily apparent when you cruise a lot.
  22. PS: Since you said you only did a $100 deposit you both could cancel and eat the $100 (which I would make them pay) and neither of you go. Again, if you rebooked a different booking just you by yourself though keep in mind that you pay pretty much what 2 people pay almost. So, if you still want to go by yourself, then just keep the booking and have them pay their 1/2 of the booking now and return the port fees/credit when they no show and you get the $ back. Also, IF you could find someone else to go with you that wanted to pay the 1/2, you might be able to switch to a new person for a small fee (depending on your rate code, this may be possible for $50). Then your roommate could just pay the change fee to swap to a different person.
