  1. i was driving somewhere thinking of the nightmare of cabin assignments alone. Never even considered the rest.
  2. But can just my husband get one or do both people have to get one?
  3. People are assuming it is. It seems to be two camps of people. Those who would rather pay lower rates and don’t mind things and those who would willingly pay more.
  4. For fun I checked. 3 times what I am paying for our Feb 2023 cruise with Carnival. Same port. Same stops. Same time frame. Same room type. Don't get me wrong. No shade to those who want to pay for the extras. There are times I do too. My point was merely you can't compare the two.
  5. What the price difference between them though? I've not sailed Princess but my understanding is they are a much higher end product all around, with the price to match.
  6. I looked at MSC because we did a 5 day out of there but the cruises leaving this weekend are 7 and 11 days.
  7. NAAT is considered more accurate than an antigen test. It is a type of PCR test. I cannot imagine it would not be acceptable.
  8. Fully vaxxed plus a booster if eligible is the requirement for 3 days out. ETA - unless travelling to Canada but the OP isn't.
  9. If the child is not eligible for a booster dose, they can test 3 days before. 5-11 is eligible for their first booster "at least 5 months after the final dose in the primary series". We sailed with my 7yo who had the final dose in his primary series but was not yet eligible for the booster and tested 3 days out. If the child had their final dose more than 5 months ago than they are eligible and must test 2 days out.
  10. I disagree. I had a cheap cruise in March. The food in the buffet was terrible. Service was slow because of understaffing. I don't care about bacon, I do order it in the MDR though. I recently sailed with another company with a friend on a really good deal Some things were better, some things weren't. There was always bacon at the buffet. Their buffet was far better than Carnival. Would I sail them again? If the price was comparable to Carnival. But I did not find anything that I found worth paying significantly more for. I love food. But I can always find something to eat on Carnival so it isn't a dealbreaker for me. I have looked at other lines but for the price, I get to be somewhere warm, visit different places and have an overall enjoyable experience for a lot less than other lines so as long as I am getting good prices, I'll stay with Carnival. When the day comes that I'm paying the same for a Carnival cruise as I am for another, I may move on. I use the money I save to enjoy more on my trip in other ways. And more trips.
  11. I have to say, I sailed Carnival the end of March and did not see one employee wear a mask improperly or remove it at any time around guests. I sailed MSC this month and constantly observed staff members wearing it below their noses, having it off and putting it on when someone appeared and actually moving the mask from their mouth to speak.
  12. I purchased ahead of time on Resortpass.com
  13. That cracked me up. At least it’s not just MSC. Carnival has sent people post cruise emails for cruises they are taking in the near future. And there was one time a bunch got notified their cruise was cancelled due to not being vaccinated when they were. The cruise wasn’t actually cancelled. My husband and I got repeated emailed, like 10 in one day, suggesting that we download and use VeriFLY. Maybe they share and IT department b
  14. It depends on a number of factors. Where are you sailing (Canada cruises are different)? Are you fully vaxxed with one booster?
  15. Yes. It was a typo. I meant the experience ABOVE (not about) Fantastica. I couldn't remember what the next level was.
  16. What's next? There are only two options. Either limit it (which they are doing) or increase prices to cover the rising cost of food. Well. I guess 3. They can absorb the cost. But I'm guessing that isn't really an option at this point.
  17. I always used to fly WJ. I had a coworker tell me this was his concern with them as well and he always booked AC. I never had an issue. But now with the connection issue in Toronto I just wont book with them anymore.
  18. I would also check the credit card used to book the trip. My travel credit card covers the cost of buying essential items like clothing and toiletries up to a certain amount if luggage is lost.
  19. On the map there was a spot indicated for scuba diving but i didn't see any excursions listed for diving, only snorkelling.
  20. My husband gets offers because he has gambled on a number of cruises. On our last I made sure to gamble just to see if I would get anything. I ended up quite enjoying it. I got immediate offers getting of the ship but they weren't casino deals. I think it was a couple of weeks before I got a casino offer. No where as good as my husband's though.
  21. Eh. To be fair I experienced it back when I was pregnant with my now 7yo. We called asking about exemptions for Cheers and customer service told us I could use a doctors note. On board they refused.
  22. We also did not delay getting vaxxed. I’m in Canada. He got his first and second shot as soon as he was able.
  23. I sailed the end of March with my 7yo who had both shots but was not eligible for a booster. We tested 3 days out no issues. Galveston Port.
