  1. I’m onboard now. its 6pm and 8:30. I believe you can get anytime dining with the higher package. I can’t remember the name. The one about Fantastica
  2. You would have to read the policy to know. i booked my flights with one card and cruise with another. On one my family travelling with me would be covered. It also covered if a family member not travelling got ill. the question about the documents with your names on it - that was my issue. They told me all they could do was send me a copy of policy. Which neither included my name or specified Covid 19. Even though covid 19 is considered an illness as outlined in the policy. i ended up buying a “covid 19 pandemic travel policy” for $30 which did not cover everything they wanted but I figured they wouldn’t look too much past the name. It did cover quarantine and medical. i knew I was covered so I was ok. Then they didn’t ask. (I was going to wait til embarkation and purchase the plan last minute as someone above did if required but I went ahead and bought it ahead of time)
  3. To update - They did not ask for anything from my roommate and I at all about insurance upon boarding in Port Canaveral.
  4. Definitely not enforced. Tonight a dinner we saw a gentleman walking by with a baseball style shirt wide open.
  5. I spent a lot of time on this forum before my end of March cruise and I think it helped. I noticed stuff but it wasn’t super disappointing. And, as other have said, the price was ridiculously low. I am currently on a cruise with another line and it’s pretty interesting to compare. This ship is not full at all. I did a short cruise getaway with a girlfriend and had some decent Carnival casino offers for myself after my last cruise. When pricing it out with the drink package, this cruise ended up being the better financial choice (the HMC day that the drink package doesn’t apply to was the deal breaker).
  6. I’m in Florida pre-cruise. Some guy told me I didn’t have to wear a mask, it’s Florida. I ignored him until he kept going and said “you are not going to die”. I said maybe I’m sick and wearing it for others. He said it’s fine, he’s vaccinated. We aren’t going to die. i was taken so aback I didn’t say anything. I didn’t bother arguing. I can’t believe me wearing a mask bothered someone else so much.
  7. I spoke too soon. Haha. But it wasn’t the airports fault. We had board already and they announced we would be delayed an hour. They noticed wear and tear on the landing gear tires and had to change a tire. I only ended up being 30 minutes later than planned alrhoufh sitting on the tarmac the extra 45 minutes wasn’t fun.
  8. Ah. I missed the late dining assignment. I thought she had YTD and waitlisted for early.
  9. I don’t know your chances but why not just go to the dining room for 6pm at YTD?
  10. Well. I suppose it depends on what you considered “works”. Where I live we had a lot of restrictions through the entire pandemic and very low numbers of infections and deaths. But we’ve reached the point of mostly lifting restrictions. And our numbers surged when other parts were going down. But this current virus is considered a milder one plus we are a highly vaccinated population and deaths are still low even with higher numbers of infections.
  11. Mine took a week. Submitted on a Thursday. Marched the following Friday. Silver.
  12. I’m not out of the airport yet so I shouldn’t say anything. But again I got to my next gate with no issues. i did have a very early flight though. I am travelling with a friend who has a different connection here. She’s travelling through Newark and I’m direct. She didn’t have a boarding pass because she booked through airmiles and her next flight is united. Air Canada couldn’t give her one. So we got off our flight and had to wait a bit for a united agent. I’d say about 20 minutes total to get the pass. Then through security. It was a breeze. Into customs. There was no line so we didn’t even have to wait to have our name called. We waited in a short line to see a customs agent. I got the 3rd degree (asked me a bunch of questions she didn’t get asked). And we were done. She had about a 3 hour layover and we had time to grab a mimosa and get to her gate. No rush. This is similar to my experience in March but both times I was on an early flight (from east coast arriving around 7am. Maybe earlier for my last. I’ve got 2 more hours to kill until I depart. ETA flying AC
  13. as I mentioned I ended up with a clamshell at the very end of the beach. The lady we were chatting with was travelling with her parents. Her father had a mobility issue. At one point an atv type vehicle drove up and picked them up. We asked her how they got that. Apparently they asked people for help when they got there and these workers drove them down. They made an arrangement to come back at a specific time. Not sure if it’s always available or how easy it is. But sure was nice for them.
  14. Thanks! I didn't think so. I'm flying carry on anyway but looks like it doesn't matter. I also had a lounge pass for terminal 3 but oh well.
  15. Funnily enough the security officer in Galveston told me I wasn’t allowed to bring my champagne on board because it’s different than wine. I argued. She checked and it was allowed. (it wasn’t funny at the time. I splurged on a nice bottle and wasn’t going to leave it behind easily).
  16. It's ok. I booked a cruise with another line and one of the "perks" was "one free cruise change". Which I read as "one free cruise charge". For days. I couldn't find any information on how it worked or how much so I asked on another board. I even checked the wording again before posting. Someone kindly pointed out my mistake. I now clearly see it.
  17. I have always disliked Toronto but it has been worse since COVID. It was bad for awhile with COVID but apparently in the past couple weeks it has gotten much worse. As I mentioned, it was terrible when I travelled in September. My March/April trip was much better. Inf fact, my return from the US was the smoothest and easiest ever. Guess we'll see how Saturday goes.
  18. I will let you know. I have 6 hours so I should be fine but I'll keep an eye on the time to let you know.
  19. Maybe. What is the rule? What effort did they make to enforce it? What would be considered a reasonable effort? What are their peers doing? And then you get 100% compliance, how effective is that? And can you show that by not enforcing the rules someone got infected? They might be found to have some liability, but I'm willing to bet not very much. Again, at the end of the day, we know going into a public space even when there are rules there will be people who refuse to follow them. And even if everyone does there is still a risk of infection.
  20. when are you going? I’m supposed to fly Saturday. Pending my Negative test tomorrow.
  21. the other thing is I am not sure if you have to wait 2 weeks after the booster. My understanding was it was 2 weeks after initial rounds to be fully vaccinated but you are up to date as soon as you receive the booster. but I’m not 100% on that.
  22. I would say you have enough time. we travelled in September and had to leave the secure area and clear customs. It was a HUGE line at customs. At one point there were two people working at customs and one guy kept walking people somewhere so there would be one checking people. They took all nexus people and airline employees first. No one from our line moved for 15 minutes at one point. i was starting to stress but we made it. I think we only had 2:15 minute layover. i went through there the end of March and had to go through the same. It was much faster and we had less time (I knew there was another later flight so wasn’t as stressed).
  23. yes but in Canada you are not eligible for a second booster. They only require a booster if you are eligible. i am in Canada. My son was not eligible for a booster because we rolled out his age group long after the Us did. He was able to test 3 days before because he was not eligible. and, with the exception of a few sailings, no boosters are required. When you test depends on boosters, if eligible.
