  1. This is what we're thinking...an odd menu (with a great dessert!) but seems like a neat experience. It was actually our teenager that asked to try it in the past.
  2. Starting a fun thread (as trying to decide if we try a specialty on our Wonder cruise in March). I know this is subjective, but if you were to do just one specialty restaurant would you pick? And what MDR night would you miss? We're coming with a teenager. She doesn't eat seafood but does like salmon and beef/chicken. DH and I don't eat beef/chicken. Thinking maybe...Wonderland (for something unique - but also hesitating due to the strange menu) and missing Italian night. We've tried Chops and the two Italian places on different ships so thinking something new for us. How about others?
  3. Really enjoying your review. Looks like you're having a great cruise. Wondering, did they let you order the lobster and the cheese tortellini at the same time? Or you had to finish your lobster first and then you were able to order the tortellini? I quite like their tortellini so on our last cruise in March (I think you were on the same Oasis), the waiter said he couldn't bring both at once. Found it annoying as I really like the tortellini but its on lobster night. (In the end, he saw I was a bit annoyed and did sneak in a tortellini too)
  4. I personally like CoCo Cay and am ok that it is a stop on most of our cruises. I like the fact that you can just walk off the ship, the beach is there and you don't have to spend a dime if you don't want. It has a beach, chairs and umbrellas are included and has a great pool. Or when we go with our kids, there is the waterpark (although our next cruise is probably the last one we will be purchasing due to the increase in cost). It's not the most beautiful beach but we have nothing back home so it's good for us, and other stops will be ones where we get off the ship.
  5. Thanks so much for sharing. Looks like it's worthwhile the visit.
  6. Yeah similar. DH and I can book off season and we don't mind if it's an older ship so it's easier (or try another line as you mention). The sad thing is we find Royal an amazing family holiday with our kids (university and high school) so those are the ones we are stuck to the highest prices on specific ships. Not sure how many years we have left to travel with them but may need to find another vacation or try a family friendly ship on another line with say, NCL.
  7. Same here. I do wonder though when they release the next group that covers Dec 2025 and spring 2026, that the starting price will be closer to what we are seeing as current prices. If this is the case, we will probably be taking a cruise break...or cruising a lot less.
  8. We're on the 6 night one over new years...so one after you. Ha ha..we often watch the belly flop if we can catch it. Exactly...even on the same cruise, two can have a very different experience. Thanks again for the review and look forward to hearing others. Your itinerary sounds great and 8 night would be perfect. Enjoy!
  9. Awesome review Harry! Always fun to follow along. I look forward to reading about your Odyssey one (if you choose to do one), as we'll be on the week after you so fun to compare experiences (again). As for the taxis, from what I remember, we had to take a shuttle to the LAX-IT area, and from there you can catch a cab. We were originally going to try uber for the airport but it was too confusing where to get picked up with so stuck to the taxi option.
  10. That's great, thanks. So what it was like before covid. When we were on Anthem we couldn't book until we boarded. Will probably want to book these (extended version) for our Odyssey cruise so good to know we can book beforehand.
  11. Can you now purchase these before your cruise in the cruise planner? Or not until you board?
  12. Mom*3, thanks for the advice and sharing the pictures. Appreciate it! Good idea to study or look at the menu beforehand. P.S. - For us, DH can have peanuts...just not things like hazelnuts, walnuts, etc. Thankfully he's not anaphylactic but he has had a couple times he needs to step out and take a Benadryl. (He will ask specific questions about food in the MDR and have them verify with the kitchen if any tree nuts, but doesn't like to mention his allergy as a whole when they ask as he doesn't want to be treated differently - but for something like Wonderland, he would say something)
  13. Wow, amazing photos with descriptions! Thanks so much for sharing!
  14. Sure if you have them handy and no trouble. Lol...Good that you all convinced him to try cruising!
  15. Thanks for sharing. Great to hear that even the non-adventurous enjoyed!
  16. They both look pretty good to me. Thanks for sharing the photos. Need to decide if Wonderland is for us. I did look at the menu after my post and it may be a little too .adventurous for us (but still considering booking for the experience)
  17. I've seen people post pictures from there, but didn't realize there was a choice. Thought it's a set menu and they just brought out the items. Good to know.
  18. Thanks. Great to hear. Still deciding if we want to book it, but since Black Friday is coming up next month, starting to think about what to book. We also have our DD with us (teenager), who is semi picky these days, but she's the one that wanted to go there in the past (prob more for the atmosphere and different experience).
  19. That's horrible. Sorry you went through that, even after telling them. And that's one hefty medical bill! Hopefully you can fight it, as you did mention your allergy. Glad you are ok.
  20. Thanks for the reply! Sounds like something fun to do once (and the dessert alone is probably worth it)
  21. Following along. We have Wonder booked next March. Have a safe flight and wonderful cruise!
  22. We have Wonder booked next year and I've always eyed Wonderland as it seems like a neat experience. And seems like Wonderland should be booked on Wonder. 😉 DH and I both eat fish/seafood but we don't eat beef or chicken. DH also has an allergy to tree nuts (almonds are ok, but none of the others), I know it's a bunch of small dishes. Will there be enough items we can eat? Or would we miss out on a lot and it wouldn't be worth it?
  23. We've used it 3 times on Liberty, Oasis and Navigator. Never had an issue using it right away as we just went to Cafe Promenade and our stateroom was on the list. From what I remember......For all of them, a small was 1 punch, otherwise 2. Ice drinks were 2 since they go in the bigger cup. Double shot was 2 punches. On Navigator, they had soy milk and almond milk as options. I think on Oasis and Liberty they just had soy. The card doesn't work for the Frappuccino's. We quite like the coffee card and got good use of it.
  24. Thanks. Good to know! Would you recommend this, even for a first timer?
