  1. No problem just paying it forward from someone else years ago that gave me that tip
  2. My sailing oct 16th, only 1 total haven left but 250 plus balconies including 2 categories with 100 plus for balconies
  3. If one decided to google TA in New Hampshire that specialize in cruises one might find a 6 letter TA that particular TA I’ve used successfully for inventory checks and has always been accurate since 2018
  4. I’m on this sailing been booked for months, and checking inventory weekly on a site I’ve used for years that shows inventory up to 100 not 15, two categories BA and BB continue to show a 10 plus available as they have since I booked this May, definitely not as empty as my early May Joy sailing to Bermuda, insides about a 110 left and clubs like at 50 plus but lots of cabins still available
  5. Every sailing is different, if you sail in prime time it’s harder to upgrade, it’s also easier to upgrade from an inside to balcony, versus balcony to haven since there are so many fewer havens to go around. Do you research do mock bookings and if it’s on a weak capacity sailing you might win. I’m 6 for 8, only always sail off season only 2 not won were balconies to haven
  6. It’s still too soon normally havens are 3 to 5 business days before sailing you should hear soon
  7. Relax your ship has well over 100 balconies still available unlike the other person who had to wait at the terminal that was a sold out sailing you enjoy your cruise
  8. Call and pay the difference to upgrade to one of 60 plus category BA that are still available or BC has 27 available or B4 family has 17.
  9. There are lots of balcony cabins on that sep 2nd sailing, for example category BA on a TA website out of New Hemisphere is showing currently 69 cabins available just in Ba alone, suggest going to any TA site and do mock booking and you will see cabins available
  10. Yes of course it could happen and does if you are trying to upgrade to a category not available
  11. It’s been around on occasional we have seen it since last fall if you read thru the main upgrade thread it seems like it’s almost always on sailings that are quite full, I just looked at your sailing and currently there are no havens in any category’s available so all this does is if you increase your bid is give them information to feed the the system to make bids higher in future sailings
  12. The original price paid is not a factor, remember lots of CAS Casino at Sea travelers that have free cabins bid and are successful with the upgrade program. The upgrade advantage program looks at what you currently bid and what they will get for additional revenue for your original cabin. Good luck to all and happy cruising!
  13. Try a different website I saw 76 cabins in category IA inside on oct 2nd but only like 27 BA’s which is not a lot, best of luck cruising and not matter what your on a cruise so enjoy!
  14. Are you leaving in two weeks or 60 days? If 60 days that’s not a lot at all if two weeks still not a lot look at all categories if it’s less than two weeks sounds full also much easier to do mock bookings on travel agent sites instead of ncl for availability just because one sailing is not at capacity doesn’t mean three weeks later is to get a upgrade deal doing some extra research really can pay off
  15. Ms. Bird, if you go see velvet, the dinner show can you please share with us you thoughts on the show itself? Thanks
  16. Patience is the key, remember 90 percent or more are not even accepted until 2 to 5 days before sailing, if their are still lots of balconies available and you are more than 7 days before sailing why bid more, I’ve received upgrades 6 out of 8 times all poor range within 5 to less than 45 hours sailing day. The only two I didn’t get were haven, my last one was 30 per person to upgrade from balcony to club balcony in May 2022. It’s all about supply and demand if you are sailing on a holiday cruise and it’s full of course it will cost more to upgrade but if your off season and the ship is not a capacity why bid a large amount 60 days out for a balcony when you see 200 still available?
  17. But you have to be careful if you booked thru a travel agency they have to participate and a lot of the big box TA’s do not participate
  18. Thanks for taking us along we will be doing the breakaway in oct to New England and a Canada first of 20 plus cruises that will be cold weathered but we wanted to try something different. Appreciate your reviews and great to hear that the breakaway is one of the ships that’s already transferred over to Coke. Enjoy your quick getaway!
  19. I had one upgrade processed at around 1pm on Friday before a Sunday sailing, at the 24 hour mark before sailing if you were not upgraded you will receive an email that you were not upgraded
  20. No once one of the bids is accepted that’s it your done, enjoy your cruise.
  21. We were on the Joy in May saw them as long as it’s not tape I don’t think it’s an issue
  22. Yes they were also on the Joy, in observation lounge at lunch time in May 2022
  23. All of my bids I’ve won I was notified in less than 4 days before sailing, 1 notified 4 days before, 2 notified 3 days before, a notified 2 days before, and 2 less than 32 hours from sailing notified of upgrade, patience is the key
  24. I found ducks without even trying on my May Joy half capacity cruise. It always made me smile, I rehide them hoping the few kids on cruise would find them.
  25. Yes I got my offer to bid at 110 out for my oct sailing on breakaway, we shall see as the capacity continues to get higher and demand increases bids options will probably increase in price
