  1. I would pick based on the type of food you both would rather eat. Playmakers has burgers, wings, fries, etc... and you know what BBQ is. Can't go wrong with either. Dan
  2. Yeah, you are correct. One of our goals for our upcoming July Alaskan cruise is just to experience a glacier at all. I guess I don’t mind taking transportation in port to see one. Pulling upside one on the ship would be amazing but that’s not really in our itinerary
  3. Sorry OP, it's just how Royal has been doing it for some time now (no refund/credit after final payment)
  4. Twice daily still was going as of March 19th-26th. Haven't heard of changes on Anthem yet
  5. At least Juneau is back in the schedule. The Mendenhall glacier is there so that can be seen for sure. It's always a toss-up, from what I've read/viewed, if you will be able to see the glacier at the end of the Endicott arm. I just hope we at least make it most of the way up that arm. It looks like a beautiful place to see even if you don't get all the way to the end to see the glacier.
  6. I think each person knows, in their own mind, what will work for them. We are perfectly fine with inside rooms. We also do balconies but it’s not that big of a deal for us. Contrary to what some are saying about Alaska, it is one of the times we wanted a balcony for sure, so we could sit out and watch the shore and scenery at our leasure without running up to the pool deck.
  7. Ambiguity can lead to so many unintended situations. I understand your situation and glad that it worked out good for you and resultantly your response for the service.
  8. We are also after final payment. I am still holding out that this is a glitch. If I would have known that Juneau, and Endicott arm, were not on the itinerary I know for absolute certain we would never have booked the cruise.
  9. I'm eyeing an 11:20am flight out of SEA. Our ship arrives at 7am.
  10. No limit on apps and dessert. One entrée included. Enjoyed a great Chops lunch a few weeks ago n the Anthem. We ate well this cruise, and the best item the entire cruise (for me) was the Chops mushroom soup. Dan
  11. ??? That IS the glacier part of our cruise. The chances of getting into Endicott arm far enough to see the glacier are never guaranteed, but I completely plan to see Mendenhall glacier in Juneau. It is when we actually know (with almost certainty) we can see a glacier on the entire cruise.
  12. Pretty stupid thing to do with all the facial recognition and cameras on the ship. I haven’t heard of a single confirmed incident
  13. They are not leaving them in the cabins. However, all bars have a supply. It was very straightforward to get ours a few weeks ago.
  14. BTW. the Independence is anything but small. It is HUGE! I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. It's just not colossal like Oasis class, but no other ships are. Dan
  15. Indy is a great ship. Very easy to navigate with the awesome Royal Promenade inside. Also, it's fun to go to the helipad at night (exit side of deck 4 and take the walking track all the way to the front and up the steps) Sometimes it's closed. I would also recommend leaving earlier, just in case. Maybe 7 am. You miss the ship and your entire vacation is ruined. If you get there early, just get in line early. Since you are eating lunch so late anyway it may be best just to grab a little pizza and finger sandwiches at Sorrento's and Cafe Promenade respectively. Dinner will come quickly and you don't want be stuffed for that nice meal. The bonus is that your room should be ready right away so not much lugging around of luggage. When on board, ask how they are doing the ice shows, if you need to reserve or not. That's the only show I can think of that might need a reservation, otherwise it's first come first serve for shows in the Main Theater. The drivers license and birth certificate will be fine. She's not married with a change to the last name right? (if so she would also need marriage certificate) Pro tip: Each of you should bring your evening dinner wear, and perhaps a bathing suit with you in a carry-on or backpack. Sometimes the luggage that you drop off with the porters doesn't arrive to your room until after dinner. Dan
  16. My goodness this better be an error. We have a "once in a lifetime" cruise on July 10th with 16 extended family members across three generations in 6 balcony cabins. Seeing as this is affecting more than 1 ship, I'm guessing it's an IT error and not panicking yet.
  17. Very kind of you. Thank you. …and happy Easter!
  18. Same for us on the Anthem a couple of weeks ago and I also felt it made a difference versus all our other Royal sailings.
  19. It is a nice quality bag. There is no bottle opener. To be fair, the packages that include this bag are only plastic water bottles or canned beverages.
  20. It’s not on our Quantum to Alaska in July either. I’m hoping that might change after it reposition to Seattle soon.
