That's not how it's worked in the past in the vast, vast majority of cases. The level you are at when you turn 18, even if it's grandfathered, is what you have for life. In order to get a higher status than that, you need to do it on your own points. Both of our daughters were platinum, and so were we, when they turned 18. They missed out on being grandfathered at all. My son is only 15 and got grandfathered into Emerald with us, and will now get grandfathered into Diamond. He'll have 60 points on his own after our Alaskan cruise this summer so he's not too far off anyway Problem is, there is inconsistency with how they are treating those over 18 that were grandfathered. @LobsterStalker and @moposh, I read the rules like @Ourusualbeach describes below. For example, say a minor was grandfathered into Diamond before turning 18 (even though actual status is Platinum). C&A is saying that if, after 18, they continued accidentally getting grandfathered into their parents status and the parents made D+, the child would revert back to Diamond, not all the way back to Platinum.

The minor dependent shows the status of the parents. We just went on a cruise last week with my son, 15, who is Platinum in his own right. My wife and I were were Emerald on the cruise. His card said Emerald as well. Our older two daughters, 18 and 21, who are also Platinum in their own right with 46 points but have cards and status that still say Platinum. However, my wife and I turned Diamond on that cruise last week, so our son will be Diamond as well, even though his actual points now are 53. Will be interesting to see what happens with our sons status when he turns 18.

No fuss at all. My wife just reminded them that they were supposed to give it back to our stateroom the last evening, which I think is typically by 7 PM. You could still enjoy it that evening, if you wanted, which is what we did. You can bring four on board for sure if you have two people who are 21 years or older in each staterooms. Honestly, it’s worth risking it in my opinion. Worst case you get it back the last evening anyway.

Propulsion issue is resolved. Just off the 3-19 cruise on the Anthem and hit all ports on time(even a little early in some cases) Dan

3-19 sailing on the Anthem out of Bayonne… My wife and I each tried to bring two bottles (we have connecting staterooms and I was going solo to get us to Diamond on this cruise). She had one bottle taken away and it was delivered to our room the last night. I went through a different security line and made it through with both. There is signage in many locations saying one bottle per person in room (up to two max per room)

That’s what we would normally do but our son is with us and it’s his first time there. I would like to give him a little feel for the island this time, good or bad. 😂 We are skipping port Canaveral and staying on the ship. We just spent a week there before Christmas in a VRBO so don’t need to return so soon

Absolutely. I don’t have the WiFi package on the ship but can update at our first port which will either be Port Canaveral on the 21st or Nassau the following day. of course, if I find out anything before the cruise, I will make sure to post

I still have not received word from Royal about tomorrow’s cruise. Maybe they resolved the propulsion issue?

Thanks for the reply. Sorry to hear about the wifi. No big surprise on Bayonne though, since there are two full days back to get there, the ship can crawl along even when the propulsion is at 100%. Interested to see if we get a letter tonight or tomorrow for an updated itinerary.

I'm guessing the desire to impress the fiancé with "the cruising experience" also played into this. It sets the bar extra high right from the start. There is that desire to say... " See, this is what I was talking about!" ...but unfortunately that leads to blown out expectations and a need for everything to be over the top perfect

I think I'll just bring 3 bottles between our two rooms. That way if they are adamant about taking one, we'll get it back the last evening before we go home. This typically happens by 7pm the last evening in our experience when we purchase liquor from the duty free shop so I assume this would be the same. Additional bottles of wine beyond two (2) bottles that are brought onboard or any alcoholic beverages purchased in ports-of-call or from Shops On Board will be stored by the ship and delivered to your stateroom on the last day of the sailing.

This is their wiggle room, highlighted. Nowhere else is change mentioned that applies to something like the wine bottle allotment. 9. Only staterooms with at least one (1) guest over 21 years of age are eligible to bring bottles of wine or champagne onboard. Guests may request a corkscrew to use for opening bottles in their stateroom.

Does anyone know if this is being enforced yet? We sail in 5 days and plan to bring on 2 bottles per cabin (wife and son in one, and myself in the connecting cabin), so a total of 4 bottles. I did print off our eDocs, i.e. the cruise contract, that still shows 2 bottles per stateroom not per person

Call me crazy but I don’t eat breakfast at home but I particularly look forward to one buffet item on every cruise. Corn beef hash, especially with a runny yolk “sunny side up” egg or two.

It depends on how many people you have. Our party of 7 was about $35 each way the last couple of times. Thanks @poocher Looks like $17 total one way for up to 4 passengers, $23 for 5 passengers, and $34 for 6-8

Exactly what I was thinking. Atlantis has enjoyed very little competition for being at the busiest cruise port in the Caribbean. It's about time that there are more, good options while at Nassau. Still baffles me now few good excursions are at this stop. It's ripe for more "all inclusive" beach days, and private locations like what Royal is proposing here

No I don't think so. The current sailing is skipping Port Canaveral altogether still. I think, even with the reduced propulsion speed, the ship is able to make the two day trip back to Bayonne on time. It's that first leg to Port Canaveral that is difficult with only one day of cruising (when speed needs to be reduced)
