  1. I’m not an economist, but I still see their ships being built, and I still see them being delivered.Usually when stock prices go up, it means that people have confidence in the company.
  2. I know you comment on a lot of things, so you don’t always realize where the conversations started - but this discussion was taken about having an excel ship doing short itineraries. A comment was made that if Royal was doing it, Carnival should not.
  3. Of course - I noticed royals stock is 5 times its lowest and they have 4 more ships on order. Carnival stock which I own is still close to the bottom where I picked it up at in 2020 …and have one more ship in order. Seems very clear that carnival is pilling up the cash in the back room and is waiting for a rainy day to show royal who’s their daddy!
  4. Royal is killing it with coco cay - milking money out of every pocket people have. Carnival could use a money maker in conjunction with their new Freeport port…. but your both prob right with carnival making all the smart moves and their debt going nowhere why copy a plan that is working.
  5. I’ve been on a bunch of these cruises and that’s about the best you’re gonna get. Especially if it’s an oasis size ship.
  6. I think all the people who feel the staff is not paid enough should stop cruising in protest until the wages are increased. This thread is always fun as people have the right to remove tips….so if its is allowed it will be done. Doesn’t matter what the goodnicks say - nobody pays more taxes if they don’t have to and some people believe the tips (which is what they are called) are optional and as per the rules can be removed.
  7. Carnival seems to play catch up to much… Royal bet the farm and now is getting cruise fares like they are the Ritz Carlton - which they are not. I mean you can go on the Carnival Elation for a fraction of the price or a floating mega city for $$$$$.
  8. They really have no choice. Everyone else is buying ships like they buy underwear.
  9. Don’t think they have anything on order. They are still too far in the hole…
  10. It’s a nice way to speak of the diversity and socioeconomic of the carnival cruiser. Diversity is probably greatest on carnival and most of their passengers share a common goal of a safe, pleasant atmosphere and being respectful of other passengers. However with some of their lower fares and what people believe to be a party ship come “riff raff” in all forms that carnival is doing a very poor job in many instances keeping their other passengers feeling safe. I saw this first hand when the did next to nothing to help me when I was almost physically hurt and have watched others in similar situations on Carnival. I have not had this or come close to this on other cruise lines but maybe I was just unlucky to be on the wrong carnival sailings (multiple).
  11. Clientele on Carnival has most definitely gone down. My last cruise that I took my family on with Carnival, I had a person threaten me with serious physical harm that I believed would have been the end of me , that I had to yell security. When security did come they were little to no help until I took my camera out and started recording the entire event. Carnival is not serious about raining in the wrong behavior, and it only continues especially when there are more young people on the ship. Sadly the behavior on all the cruise lines has gotten worse the carnival in my opinion and experience has been the worst.
  12. Top deck where people are lounging - best to be out before 9am or else you are running around people who are walking to nowhere.
  13. As a stock holder of carnival I wish their wise decision on a ship that is literally fit for a colder climate with many affluent customers and millions of people who could drive and cruise, placing it in a warm climate where they have countless other ships, placing more supply where they have plenty already would translate into a strong business model and a rebound of their stock like let’s say Royal, who has less ports and also has ships that cater to colder climates like the quantum class and their stock is 4-5 times its lowest in Covid. Now obviously placing the Venezia in Florida is not the reason their stock is still in the crapper since Covid but their vast ports, many ships (arguably many in worse shape than Royal and NCL) are not warming Wall Street as much as Caribbean vacation. So… in turn I think if they pulled out of NY nobody would miss them. I would keep Venezia here in winter and bring a different ship in the summer. Would keep people coming back like Royal and the oasis/quantum switch.
  14. Yup compare a modern ship from NY in December to a Fantasy ship out of Jacksonville FL or Mobile Alabama. Carnival is lining their pockets with their endless ports.
  15. Didn’t answer how the other fill ships and Carnival cannot - but that’s okay. Most of the ships cruising go to Florida and Bahamas - nothing great. But filled! Carnival feels they cannot compete in NY and they’re doing a great job not competing. They probably could skip NY all year.
  16. Funny as NCL and Royal have had ships in for years and MSC is staying as well. The Carnival product seams less desired for older seasoned cruisers that may not be “fun ship” material I guess. A huge population with Canada being driving distance and they cannot fill a ship….
  17. They should keep this ship in Florida. Seems NY didn’t embrace Carnival year round - especially this ship. Everyone else is doing great in NY.
  18. The cows were there in June - I saw I had a picture that I caught them on.
  19. It all good - in tough times we always could use a new thread on tipping….
  20. Oh - this happens on non yeshiva break cruises. Im sorry you are triggered by my opinions. You seem to have pretty strong views on this thread so I’m surprised you think my opinions are so earth shattering. There is a thought that if you cannot handle something maybe its not meant for to you. Kids are on every ship. Some behave or are supervised better than others. IF YOU expect not to have kids on a ship and for them NOT TO act like kids…You are wrong. Maybe ill see you on the Queen Mary soon!
