Bermuda and $40 to get there ??
Denversail replied to fishbonz's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I remember thinking the Bermuda fee was related to Covid testing. Now that you ask this I do wonder. I’ve seen a few articles lately of other places implementing a tourist tax when entering the country. -

How are you going to get the correct key cards once on board? -
Housekeeping moving to once a day?
Denversail replied to Donsyb's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I like to think of it more as mourning the old ways than complaining. Folks need to process the change and vent their frustration. Most people don’t handle change well. What you call complaining is a normal response when presented with something different than one is used to. -
Nothing beats Swiss and tomato on Italian grilled to perfection

I was on a cruise several years ago smoking at a black Jack table when a woman dragged her oxygen tank over to the table and started playing. She then proceeded to complain about my smoking. I pointed out to her that there were open tables in the non smoking section. She said she didn’t want to play at those. It just like anything else in life..when a group becomes a minority there is always a group of (sub in bad word) that think of the minority as second class. I’m sure none of the folks on this thread are like that. 🙄

We have a 10 am flight from FLL in April. Will be disembarking from Symphony in Miami. We know it is a risk. We were late bookers and our choices were 3 pm flights that were outrageous or 10 pm. It is worth the risk. It will be early Sunday so hoping traffic will be light.

How can I 'de-crowd-ify' my experience?
Denversail replied to kaymoz's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
We have the getaway booked over Thanksgiving week. We will be in the haven but I’m still concerned. We are trading 2 balconies on Symphony for an aft facing one bedroom haven balcony. It is just 3 of us and the price is pretty much the same. We have never sailed ncl and want to try. All the negative reviews and crowding comments is definitely giving me pause. I still haven’t cancelled the Symphony yet. Not sure if I’m making the right choice. -
2nd Lobster 16.95 in dining room.
Denversail replied to islandwannabee's topic in Royal Caribbean International
At least it is just lobster. I saw an article about carnival wanting to charge $5 for each entree after 2 have been ordered. I wonder how many entrees some folks get? I’ve never ordered more than 2 and it is almost always cause I’m not sure I’ll like one of them. Guess I’m guilty of waste like some other folks which is probably what got us here. I’ll start ordering a single entree and send it back if it isn’t good like I would in any other restaurant. -
I think this is part of the reason Royal isn't fast to make changes that alienate smokers. They already offer a smoke free option. I would also argue that not only do a lot of gamblers smoke but serious gamblers (the ones throwing out the dough) are pretty used to having to tolerate smokers in casinos.

What would make for a fun new shore excursion?
Denversail replied to LandlockedCruiser01's topic in Ask a Cruise Question
Sounds better than swimming with pigs. -
I read on another thread that you can later be fined thousands for just leaving the ship without permission. I also think if he tried to get off with luggage they would stop him.

Best third party company to book travel insurance?
Denversail replied to bmarts's topic in Cruise/Travel Insurance
I’m also interested in feedback on this. How long do you have to book ins from booking? Is it okay as long as it is prior to final payment? -
Adventure of the Seas - info gathering
Denversail replied to bgoff60's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I’ve been on this ship 4 times and loved it each time. It might have been the itineraries that drew me in but the love has always been there. I love Oasis class but the voyager class is a close second. The last I sailed her was 2018. Nice casino. Ben & Jerry suite if I’m remembering right. Hopefully they haven’t amped this ship. I went on the navigator shortly after it was amped. It was fine but I like the old school “unamped” voyager class. Have a wonderful cruise! -
I'm doing an excursion here in April with Royal Caribbean. Anyone been to this resort or done the excursion? How is the seating area, bar, and food? Is the snorkeling any good?

The 1 master bedroom aft with balcony

We had 2 ocean balconies booked on RCL for 3 people on Symphony over Thanksgiving week. We were just able to book a Haven one bedroom suite on Getaway for similar price point the same week. We have never cruised in a suite or on NCL. I have cruised on Carnival but it has been several years. I have stuck to Royal the last several years. What should we expect from this different experience? I have done all Royal class ships. We prefer the Oasis class on Royal but have enjoyed the others. We couldn’t be more excited to enjoy something different.

That was all a bit harsh

Last time we were there we chartered a boat for our group. It was very nice. We snorkeled and swam with some turtles. Really enjoyed it. I’m not sure what everyone has against this stop.

THE WORST CRUISE I'VE TAKEN and the RESPONSE FROM MSC.

You don’t sound like an experienced cruiser. These complaints seem petty to me. Waste of time to write a letter about it.- 194 replies

Drop a little money in the casino. If you can get some free cruise offers they don’t care if you book solo.

I recall someone saying that another passenger puked on them and the cruise line refused to wash her clothes. Hazmat situation indeed.
