  2. Hello @Retlovcus and welcome to the Cruise Critic message boards! Thank you for your new thread. Also, many of the major cruise lines forums have a FAQ (Frequently Asked Question) topic that has been created by our members. Give that a try first. Browsing is your #1 best resource! Please post your messages in an appropriate topic so that you'll receive the best possible response. It is very time consuming to move misplaced messages that are in the wrong topics. Anytime you need to start a new thread/topic on a forum, first make sure you are in the correct forum for your topic. Word your new thread title in a way to help the members know exactly the information you seek. This greatly helps the members browsing through the thread titles and if they know the information, they will reply to you. Also, it is best to limit each inquiry to only one topic such as one cruise line, one ship, one port of call, etc. and of course, on the correct forum. You will get more replies that way. Be sure to mention your cruise line, ship, port or sail date in your message if that sort of information will help your fellow Cruise Critic members help you. 6. @Cruisewithfam111 Click here for the Cruise Critic Meet & Mingle page. The Meet & Mingle link in light blue is located at the top of the page under the second dark blue bar where it says Gallery. It is between Find Your Roll Call and Guidelines. Note the information regarding Official as well as Unofficial Meet & Mingle parties for Cruise Critic members. For those cruise lines that have paused or cancelled Official Meet & Mingle parties for Cruise Critic members, most of their Cruise Critic Roll Calls are planning their own get-togethers on their Roll Call to take place on the ship during their cruise. Some at sailaway, some on first sea day or any particular day during their cruise. Most often Cruise Critic Roll Call members wear Mardi Gras beads so their fellow Roll Call members can recognize each other at the planned get-togethers.

  11. @TPKeller See For all of you ''good old days'' people remember the envelope's. It was the worst! in Floataway Lounge. Thought of you when I read the title and especially the OP's statement, "... No one had the right amount of bills so you had to get change at the desk ( a hassle)..." I had used your Cruise Tip Calculator many times in the good old days and always had the correct amount of the various denominations when boarding. I looked up your user name to see if you were still posting on the boards... and lo and behold! You were!!! Thank you from me as well as the many others you helped in the past with your tip calculator!! Happy sails, Host Kat Edited to add: BTW, sorry to hijack the thread... back to your regular programing...
  12. Hello @Grams604 and welcome back to the message boards! I see it has been a while since you have posted. Thank you for your new thread on the Ask a Cruise Question forum! 13. @marco_polo11 Since the situation regarding notarized forms for consent for minor children to travel and medical treatment without parent or legal guardian are often discussed on the Family Cruises forum, I have moved your thread there. Hopefully others there that have been in your situation will be able to help you. Also, you might try a new thread on the Canadian Cruisers forum where your fellow Canadians may be able to help with information. Happy sails, Host Kat
  14. @OceanDreaming2 That was a feature from the old vBulletin software Cruise Critic used before the change to Invision Community software in October 2018 and the change to new servers in May 2019. Back then there was I think a red or green dot on your avatar (aka Profile Photo) to show if you were logged into the boards or not. If a member did not want the other members to know they were logged on, there was a setting they could use to be anonymous. To my knowledge, the feature is no longer active.

  19. @Mosaic Thank you for your new thread. However, it has been moved to the Need Help Using the Forums? Check Here! forum where it will be on topic. Whenever you need help using the Cruise Critic message boards, always check this forum first. Folks often forget about this forum. It is located at the top of the Cruise Critic Community list of forums right under Welcome to Cruise Critic. Note the large amount of "How to..." pinned threads toward the top of this forum's first page. Also, browse through the threads on this forum looking for threads of interest. You will probably find your fellow Cruise Critic members have already posted questions and received answers that may be of interest to you. In your case, first make sure you have used the correct location in the drop-down menu for your search. Here is a clip of my choices: And sometimes you need to enter multiple words surrounded by quotation marks - like, "Miami hotels" - you will get different results than if you entered just the two words. This is because quotation marks are used for phrase searching. That way your results will just be posts containing the phrase "Miami hotels" and not ALL the posts containing the word Miami as well as ALL the posts containing the word hotels. Also, I know you know what you are looking for... but sometimes I try to think in the way someone else would have posted the information. Then use word phrases with quotation marks as mentioned above. Hope this will be helpful and glad to have you aboard Cruise Critic! Happy sails, Host Kat

On the next page to appear, click Mentions & My Content and Followed Content. Click the little down arrow to open each section and make sure each item is set for your preference. Also, click this link: Manage Followed Content You will see a list for Topics I Follow. To the right of each topic you can select the light blue Change Preference bar. You can make changes to your choice and then click the dark blue Update preferences bar. OR you can completely Unfollow the topic. You can also check the boxes next to each topic to make changes to multiple topic notification preferences at once. Personally, I no longer use email for Cruise Critic notifications. I have all mine set to Notification List. I just click the Notifications Bell to the left of my user name over the small Search bubble. Then scroll down the pop-up that appears and click View all notifications. A new screen opens listing all my Notifications. I then click each one that takes me directly to the thread & post. That way I am not drowning in emails! If you want to set yours that way, click your user name located upper right over the small Search bubble in the blue bar. Next, click Account Settings. Under Other Settings, click Notification Settings. Click the down arrows and set each as Notification List Only. Hope something in this reply will be helpful! 🤞 Happy sails, Host Kat
  23. Hello @Humble_cruiser85 and welcome to Cruise Critic! Thank you for your new topic on the Ask a Cruise Question forum! However, it is the forum for general questions regarding cruising. Your inquiry concerns a specific cruise line and is off topic there. To help you out I have moved your new topic to the Carnival Cruise Lines forum where it will be on topic. The majority of your fellow Cruise Critic members that have sailed Carnival frequent this forum and provide feedback here. Browse through the thread titles on this forum looking for threads of interest. You will probably find your fellow Cruise Critic members have already posted questions and received answers that will be of interest to you. The Cruise Critic website and message boards are great resources for new as well as experienced cruisers and we are glad you found us! Please feel free to browse the Cruise Critic Community categories list for the various forums. Read a few threads in the different forums to get a feel for what each forum is about. Make sure you read any pinned threads (aka Stickies) on the top of the first page of threads in most forums. You will find very important instructions or information there. Be sure to find and post on the Roll Call thread for your line, ship and sail date for your cruise. Please click What is a Roll Call? Everything you Need to Know and How To: Create A New Roll Call. For more information about our famous Roll Calls, please read the Roll Calls and Our Policy Regarding Facebook and Roll Calls sections in the Guidelines we all agreed to follow when registering for our free Cruise Critic memberships. Your fellow Roll Call thread members may have important information posted in your Roll Call thread. Especially those that have sailed your line, ship or itinerary before. I sincerely hope this information will be helpful to someone new to posting on our message boards. We are so glad to have you aboard Cruise Critic! Happy sails, Host Kat
