  9. @Tampa Girl Do you have more than one Cruise Critic account with a different user name and email address? Even from a loooong time ago? Or perhaps one day in the past you could not log in, so you just opened another Cruise Critic account with a different user name and email address? Either one of those reasons are often the reason for the "Address already exists." error message. Contact @CC Help Michell at help@cruisecritic.com with a list of any previous Cruise Critic user names and Cuise Critic email addresses of record.

From the Guidelines we all agreed to follow when registering for our free Cruise Critic memberships: Travel Agent Recommendations There shall be no third-party recommendation (whether positive or negative in content) of travel agencies on any forums within Cruise Critic. General discussions regarding the TYPE of AGENCY to be used to purchase a cruise will be allowed, as long as no recommendations for any source of purchase are posted. Touting of your personal cruise agent or cruise line "personal cruise consultant" (or any other venue by which you purchase a cruise) is not allowed on our message boards. Postings that contain "tell them John sent you" will be removed without notice. This means you should not ask about someone's travel agent, nor should you respond in kind. Offering to email someone your travel agent's name or info is also not allowed, nor is asking members to email you for the information. Cruise Critic will remove violations of the "third-party recommendation" guideline without warning. Additional posts may result in permanent suspension of your posting privileges. Advertising is Not Allowed Cruise Critic has strict guidelines prohibiting blatant advertising, commercial sales and solicitation posts on all of our message boards. Our Cruise Community is meant to be an exchange of advice and tips where cruisers can talk about their travels -- not a marketplace for advertising and selling services. There are thousands of cruise professionals online and if we didn't insist on a non-solicitation policy the cruise boards would be very quickly overrun with nothing but ads. Cruise Critic defines advertising as an individual or company's attempt to generate business or other commercial enterprise, either directly or indirectly, by using our Cruise Board. Solicitation includes, but is not limited to, requests to be E-mailed, the posting of phone numbers for your business, constantly mentioning that you are in the travel business, and the referring to or posting of one's own Web site address. There shall be no third-party recommendation (whether positive or negative in tone) of travel agencies on any forums within Cruise Critic. Question: Why don't you allow us to post about other cruise sites? My post contains *** and then you removed it! Answer: Actually, we do allow the legitimate linking to information at another cruise site, as long as that link isn't posted in an attempt to drive traffic to that site (in the sole discretion of Cruise Critic), or if the posting of such site is meant to cause disruption within the community. If a website's url or name is replaced by a series of *****, it may mean that particular website had spammed our community with advertisements for their site, or that member(s) may have posted in a way that we consider self-promotion or advertising..." Also, a friendly reminder to all reading this thread from the Posting and You! section in the Guidelines we all agreed to follow when registering for our free Cruise Critic memberships: Signatures Cruise Critic has the following suggestions for keeping your online signatures manageable: Keep your images to around three (approx) -- which would include a picture, clipart, photo or your countdown. Try not to have any one image that is TOO large, which then takes additional time for your fellow members to download, If you have a LONG LIST of prior cruises, think about chopping off some, OR rearrange them horizontally rather than vertically; From time to time, browse through your signature and eliminate any extra blank lines, or old countdown codes, etc. Cruise Critic reserves the right to remove/delete portions of your online signature and will let you know that we've had to resize your online signature.   18. @FredZiffle If your email address of choice has changed, be sure to have your Cruise Critic email address of record changed too. That is where Cruise Critic emails are sent to you. Please click the following: How To: Update your Cruise Critic Email Address Please make sure you have the email address cruisecritic@invisioncloudcommunity.com whitelisted and/or on your safe senders list & in your Address Book contacts. Perhaps you accidently marked one of the Cruise Critic emails as Spam. If so, I suggest you contact your email provider to see if that can be corrected. Not sure how many email notifications you are receiving per day or at a time, but it could be your email provider is aggressive to prevent spam. Thinking that multiple emails in a row from Cruise Critic would be spam, they bounce one of the Cruise Critic emails back to Cruise Critic. Once one of the Cruise Critic notification emails to you is bounced back to Cruise Critic, then the Cruise Critic software stops sending you any further notification emails. Please email help@cruisecritic.com from your Cruise Critic email address of record and be sure to mention your user name. This is so your membership can be verified, and reply sent to your Cruise Critic email address of record. Explain the above possible bounce back situation and ask if the situation applies to your Cruise Critic account. IIRC, CC Help Michell can possibly investigate for the bounce back situation and possibly correct. Regarding Notifications from your Followed threads, first make sure you are logged in with your user name & password. Click your user name located upper right over the small Search bubble in the blue bar. Next, click Account Settings. Under Other Settings, click Notification Settings. On the next page to appear, click Mentions & My Content and Followed Content. Click the little down arrow to open each section and make sure each item is set for your preference. Also, click this link: Manage Followed Content You will see a list for Topics I Follow. To the right of each topic you can select the light blue Change Preference bar. You can make changes to your choice and then click the dark blue Update preferences bar. OR you can completely Unfollow the topic. You can also check the boxes next to each topic to make changes to multiple topic notification preferences at once. Personally, I no longer use email for Cruise Critic notifications. I have all mine set to Notification List. I just click the Notifications Bell to the left of my user name over the small Search bubble. Then scroll down the pop-up that appears and click View all notifications. A new screen opens listing all my Notifications. I then click each one that takes me directly to the post. That way I am not drowning in emails! If you want to set yours that way, click your user name located upper right over the small Search bubble in the blue bar. Next, click Account Settings. Under Other Settings, click Notification Settings. Click the down arrows and set each as Notification List Only. Hope something in this reply will be helpful! 🤞 Happy sails, Host Kat
