  2. In what way? As I mentioned before, in the past certain instant messaging networks could be accessed through the Cruise Critic message board. However, the feature is no longer available since the change from vBulletin software to Invision Community software in October 2018.
  3. Hello @ginfla and welcome to the Cruise Critic message boards! Thank you for your new topic on the Ask a Cruise Question forum! However, it is the forum for general questions regarding cruising. Your inquiry concerns a specific cruise line and is off topic there. To help you out I have moved your new topic to the Norwegian Cruise Line forum where it will be on topic. The majority of your fellow Cruise Critic members that have sailed NCL frequent this forum and provide feedback here. Also, we have the What Ever Happened To........??? forum that may be helpful in finding info about the crew member you mention. It is our forum where members discuss the glorious past of cruising...the ships, the people, the cruise lines, the ports that bring back those wonderful memories. The Cruise Critic website and message boards are great resources for new as well as experienced cruisers and we are glad you are posting on our boards! Please feel free to browse the Cruise Critic Community categories list for the various forums. Read a few threads in the different forums to get a feel for what each forum is about. Make sure you read any pinned threads (aka Stickies) on the top of the first page of threads in most forums. You will find very important instructions or information there. When you book your next cruise, be sure to find and post on the Roll Call thread for your line, ship and sail date for your cruise. Please click What is a Roll Call? Everything you Need to Know and How To: Create A New Roll Call. For more information about our famous Roll Calls, please read the Roll Calls and Our Policy Regarding Facebook and Roll Calls sections in the Guidelines we all agreed to follow when registering for our free Cruise Critic memberships. Your fellow Roll Call members may have important information posted in your Roll Call thread. Especially those that have sailed your line, ship or itinerary before. Also, the specific Roll Call thread for your line, ship and sail date is the ONLY place on the Cruise Critic message boards where you and your fellow Roll Call thread members are allowed to post personal ads about sharing private tours, excursions or transportation with each other to save money. There is a "captive audience" there since you are all sailing together! And don't forget, after your cruise be sure to submit your review for publication by Cruise Critic. Many cruisers will benefit from your experience! Make YOUR voice heard. Your honest cruise review will influence next year's Cruisers' Choice award winners and help others choose the right sailing. See How To: Submit a Member Review. Sorry this is so long, but I sincerely hope this will be helpful to someone new to posting on our message boards. We are so glad to have you aboard Cruise Critic! Happy sails, Host Kat

  5. @Mosaic Thank you for your new thread. However, it has been moved to the Need Help Using the Forums? Check Here! forum where it will be on topic. Whenever you need help using the Cruise Critic message boards, always check this forum first. Folks often forget about this forum. It is located at the top of the Cruise Critic Community list of forums right under Welcome to Cruise Critic. Note the large amount of "How to..." pinned threads toward the top of this forum's first page. Also, browse through the threads on this forum looking for threads of interest. You will probably find your fellow Cruise Critic members have already posted questions and received answers that may be of interest to you. In your case, first make sure you have used the correct location in the drop-down menu for your search. Here is a clip of my choices: And sometimes you need to enter multiple words surrounded by quotation marks - like, "Miami hotels" - you will get different results than if you entered just the two words. This is because quotation marks are used for phrase searching. That way your results will just be posts containing the phrase "Miami hotels" and not ALL the posts containing the word Miami as well as ALL the posts containing the word hotels. Also, I know you know what you are looking for... but sometimes I try to think in the way someone else would have posted the information. Then use word phrases with quotation marks as mentioned above. Hope this will be helpful and glad to have you aboard Cruise Critic! Happy sails, Host Kat
  6. @Caroldoll Thank you for your new thread on the Need Help Using the Forums? Check Here! forum! However, your thread was off topic there. 19. @Tampa Girl Do you have more than one Cruise Critic account with a different user name and email address? Even from a loooong time ago? Or perhaps one day in the past you could not log in, so you just opened another Cruise Critic account with a different user name and email address? Either one of those reasons are often the reason for the "Address already exists." error message. Contact @CC Help Michell at help@cruisecritic.com with a list of any previous Cruise Critic user names and Cuise Critic email addresses of record.
  20. @SeaRedBear Please note the following from the Guidelines we all agreed to follow when registering for our free Cruise Critic memberships: "... 21. From the Guidelines we all agreed to follow when registering for our free Cruise Critic memberships: Travel Agent Recommendations There shall be no third-party recommendation (whether positive or negative in content) of travel agencies on any forums within Cruise Critic. General discussions regarding the TYPE of AGENCY to be used to purchase a cruise will be allowed, as long as no recommendations for any source of purchase are posted. Touting of your personal cruise agent or cruise line "personal cruise consultant" (or any other venue by which you purchase a cruise) is not allowed on our message boards. Postings that contain "tell them John sent you" will be removed without notice. This means you should not ask about someone's travel agent, nor should you respond in kind. Offering to email someone your travel agent's name or info is also not allowed, nor is asking members to email you for the information. Cruise Critic will remove violations of the "third-party recommendation" guideline without warning. Additional posts may result in permanent suspension of your posting privileges. Advertising is Not Allowed Cruise Critic has strict guidelines prohibiting blatant advertising, commercial sales and solicitation posts on all of our message boards. Our Cruise Community is meant to be an exchange of advice and tips where cruisers can talk about their travels -- not a marketplace for advertising and selling services. There are thousands of cruise professionals online and if we didn't insist on a non-solicitation policy the cruise boards would be very quickly overrun with nothing but ads. Cruise Critic defines advertising as an individual or company's attempt to generate business or other commercial enterprise, either directly or indirectly, by using our Cruise Board. Solicitation includes, but is not limited to, requests to be E-mailed, the posting of phone numbers for your business, constantly mentioning that you are in the travel business, and the referring to or posting of one's own Web site address. There shall be no third-party recommendation (whether positive or negative in tone) of travel agencies on any forums within Cruise Critic. It also means you cannot post links to travel agencies, no matter what the specific reason. Cruise Critic will remove violations of the "third-party recommendation" rule without warning. Additional posts will result in permanent suspension of your posting privileges. BTW, this means no cryptic hints either. If you have any further questions, comments or feedback on this matter, also from the Guidelines: "... If you have any questions or comments regarding our posting guidelines or any content found on our message boards please be sure and let me know. I'll be happy to discuss them with you. LauraS Senior Manager, Community community@cruisecritic.com ..." Please send your email to LauraS, Senior Manager, Community at community@cruisecritic.com. This is so your membership can be verified, and reply sent to your Cruise Critic email address of record. If your current Cruise Critic email address of record is not correct and needs to be updated before you send your email, please click the following: How To: Update your Cruise Critic Email Address
  22. @RocketMan275 Actually, please note the following portion from the Removal of Topics/Posts section in the Guidelines we all agreed to follow when registering for our free Cruise Critic memberships: "... Question: Why don't you allow us to post about other cruise sites? My post contains *** and then you removed it! Answer: Actually, we do allow the legitimate linking to information at another cruise site, as long as that link isn't posted in an attempt to drive traffic to that site (in the sole discretion of Cruise Critic), or if the posting of such site is meant to cause disruption within the community. If a website's url or name is replaced by a series of *****, it may mean that particular website had spammed our community with advertisements for their site, or that member(s) may have posted in a way that we consider self-promotion or advertising..." If you have any further questions, comments or feedback on this matter, also from the Guidelines: "...
