  1. What a crock of s#@!, why is this being reported like another disaster??
  2. We are solid Royal cruisers and are very keen to try other lines now we have climbed the loyalty tear to D+. NCL will be the next line we are going try for sure. Go for it. Will love to see what you think.
  3. I have to say the bedding for us. Pillow top mattress is the best.
  4. I seriously have to agree, have not stopped laughing 🤣😂
  5. All of the normal cruise lines (P&O, Princess) that sale from Australia this time of year have opened up and are sailing. Big hooha regarding this on our local news with P&O ships coming into Sydney harbour couple months back. The crappy thing is that I payed the final payment early last week and received that email 2 days later.
  6. Covid is here to stay. You are better going as we are not getting any younger. RCCL is the best in the market if, god forbid you do pick it up. It will be much similar to other cruises, was your hands regularly. Keep your hands away from your face and sanitize a lot.

  8. Got the below email from Royal Caribbean, it seems a little fishy to me. Anyone have any suspicions on why they would do this?? 9. I have being getting these cruise planer specials via email over the last year or so (see below) however, when I log on I find that these discount are not available. Very annoying especially when everything is very expensive now days. These are true spam emails, if what is offered is actually not the case. Want to buy the internet package and the discount below is not available. Has anyone had the same problem?? 10. It has changed, Before when you held a planner purchase (such as a deluxe drink package) in cart whilst on sale and did not purchase before sale ended, it would revert back to the non sale price! Now when you put a purchase in cart when on special it stays at " the discounted" price when the sale ends. In seeing this, I am not "paying" for the purchase until the last minute in case a better price comes along. We used to have to pay for an item in the planner and watch for the better price, cancel and re-buy. This was a pain as you have to cough up the money up front and wait for the refund. In saying this, I looked tonight at a cruise we have booked in December. We have the deluxe drink package in our cart at $86 AUD a night that we placed in there when a buy one get one half price sale was on. At the moment it is at $123 AUD a day.
  11. Still debating on if we buy the drink package this time. It is pushing $91AUD a day ($3200 for both of us on the 18 day cruise) we are Diamond members and will get the 4 vouchers. We are on the repo cruise Hawaii to Brisbane Australia. There is a hell of a lot of sea days ( 12 sea days to be exact, 13 including day 1) and we do like a drink. This is depending how we feel. On a general day when we cruise we always have a Bloody Mary with breakfast sometimes 2 depending on how we feel. 3-6 on the Lido deck with a swim and lazing about at lunch time. Have a little break in the afternoon with a few waters or soft drinks. Mid afternoon and before dinner we may 2-4. Usually we have the late dinner session and have 1 or 2 at dinner. Then we might hit the casino or a show with a few more. last but not least a couple bottles water before calling it a night. Spreading this out over the day 12-16 hours (drinking on average 16 drinks and not all being at $13 due to myself drinking beer at $7-8 not forgetting the bottles of water $5 a pop) Below is over a 12-16 hour period!!! My Daily drinks are in AUD (Averaging as some days it may be more some days maybe less) 1 x Bloody Mary $13+ 4 x cocktails $13=$52+ 8 x Beers $7:50=$60+ 6 x bottles water $5:50=22+ =$147 AUD per day Above does not take into account the exchange rate of AUD to USD. To finish after doing the sums paying the $91 AUD a day is a no brainer even with our Diamond vouchers.
  12. I have always used 28 degrees, works well..
  13. Getting the Royal shaft (Pun intended) with ours. 18 day repo cruise from Hawaii to Australia is just over $91 (Grats included) a day, this a 18 day cruise also cost is over $3200 for the 2 of us.
  14. P&O Australia are known not to bother with customer loyalty either. Quite sad, we will put our money towards cruise lines that do have these programs and will match any price drop. RCL is one of those lines who will drop the price if same cabin class becomes cheaper. Hence why we most likely never to sail with P&O Australia again.
  15. More comfortable larger accommodation, and most JS suites we have had on RCL has had a pillow topped mattress that is much more comfy
  16. Also cruiser coming into the USA to go cruising, huge weight off my shoulders for our Honolulu trip in October.
  17. Yes we leave on the 10th from Sydney Australia arrive in Honolulu on the 10th we board on the 13th. We will have to get another test prior to boarding as it sits at the moment?
  18. Wow, did not think it was going to be this difficult. We are staying in Honolulu 3 days prior to boarding. Hope this all gets easier before October!!!!
  19. Bloody dido to that!! This will lurer that BIG cruise ships to maybe home port in Brisbane in our cruise ship season eventually and we can't wait. No more having to fly to Sydney for these ships hopefully!! P&O/Princess have the main go at it at the moment however, it will be good to the likes of Norwegian cruise lines sail out of Brisbane!!! There will be shuttle bus's put on and it will not be to much of a hassle seriously, it is on the correct side of the river which does count in favour of most!!!
  20. Hi Guys, I broke down our next cruise to a per night cost and was surprised to say the least! Curious on where most people are comfortable at for a per night cost when you cruise. For example-: Our next cruise is a RC cruise, 18 nights in Junior Suite, with drinks package and internet package. It breaks down to (without flights and 4 night stay) $393 each per night. We usually would be a lot more conservative however, we have a cruise savings account that is toped up each week. We like to cruise twice a year and in saying this we have 2 and half years of cruise savings and we are going all out on the first cruise since the pandemic shut the industry down. Just cruise only is $295 per night each.
