Very important fact that was left out of the complaint. Close to the same issue with the daily Lobster and Filet available for an extra charge on the MDR menu and the availability of extra cost specialty dining options in general.

IMO, you are correct. A sad situation when some people will not review the presentation for the simple reason that they did not receive an e mail. I suspect the emails asking for questions was a small representative sample of all Captain Club members. IMO they hit a lot of the popular/confusing topics.

I watched it yesterday and I agree with you. Very well done IMO. I enjoyed the Q&A and appreciated the effort. I felt even better about Celebrity and it’s future as a result. Well done, Celebrity.

A Zenith member not purchasing a suite (and purchasing a Cruise Only rate) has a very generous and valuable list of nice benefits IMO.

Over the years, I have used several different TAs. OBC from Celebrity shows up on my Celebrity account and it an be used for advanced purchases. However OBC from my TA has always been refundable and has never shown on my account until after I was on board. Therefore I could not use it in advance. (This is OBC that is given to me as a sharing of the commission). Could you be confusing the advanced TA OBC on your account with a different cruise line? Or perhaps the OBC was actually from Celebrity? You might want to confirm before you book you next cruise. This is my experiences.

Buying a stand alone drink package is not much of a deal. Most alcoholic drink packages come as part of the AI. Did you book a Cruise only fare?

Yes, I would have thought that they would have allow you to upgrade to C GTY if it was a higher price. You might want to try it one more time with a different Celebrity Rep. Good luck.

Did you try and find a cabin category that was more expensive than your current OV GTY and try to pay for an upgrade. It can be as little as $1 more. If course the new prevailing rate comes with the new perks as well. (Might be less)

Be sure to come back and report your experience. I ordered a lobster tail on a non lobster night (in an upper suite). I was not charged and I was told that it is included with the Upper suite. Just sharing my experience. I have also been told that the Chef’s table is an extra charge for everyone. (I did participate). I have enjoyed the speciality dining lunches without a charge.

Although I have never book a Gty cabin, I am fairly certain the sticky above has some reports of people make a bid from a GTY cabin. But if you would be unhappy in the inside cabin, I woukd not risk it.

I am surprise about your second hand report. The head butler should have provided his contact information and the Retreat Concierges should have been available and very helpful. I assume that they had requests and at least talked to them about their disappointment. I was on the Summit in August and I also asked for an extra blanket. Although I had one of the dedicated Butlers, the blanket was provided by our cabin steward. The Retreat hosts were outstanding. Obviously all ships are not providing the same level of service. My wife and I are low maintenance and do not require much from the dedicated Butler or Butler team.

The suite that include no extra charge for Speciality restaurants do not, but I was told the policy is that other suite guests have to play the daily up charge. The exception is that you all Luminae guests do not need to pay for a second lobster when it is included on the day’s menu. Based on what I was told on the August 18th Summit cruise.

I also cruise on Princess sometimes. It has been my experience that Celebrity generally has the same number of Air options as Princess. If you start a cruise booking in Celebrity.com, you will be able to see all the various flight options with the price. Which specific cruise do you have booked and what is your originating airport? I can look it up for you and post it. Good luck.

Is the $999.99 for the cruise or the air? I suspect you do not have a Celebrity Air reservation. I always book my Celebrity Air direct.

From my observations I suspect that the staff delivering room service to non Sky Suite cabins has decreased significantly with the surcharge. And those resources are being used for delivering room service to those staying in Sky Suites and those willing to pay a surcharge. Room service (not from the Butler) might be the most visible change to Sky Suite guests.

I just returned from the August 18th Summit cruise and the butler service in our upper suite was outstanding and was not lacking in any way. Prez provide excellent service.

The flight details have always been available at the time that I booked the flights. Not sure what you mean about “on hold”. Flight details should be available for a cruise in March. Have you already booked your cruise?
