  1. @Bob Merkt I wouldn't because Seattle has been a cluster ____ every time I have gotten off. Longest and most disorganized debarkation of any port I have cruised out of.
  2. Yes, that is what we have done every time. There was reports that for some reason the Hibachi reservations had to be done separately but that wasn't our experience.
  3. If you cancel now your refund will go back to the original form of payment. However, I wouldn't cancel now. A lot can happen between now and June 1.
  4. I haven't been on vision but any ship with cafe latte-tudes I have been on had included regular coffee as well. Is vision different or is my memory faulty?
  5. That is my experience too. I'm pretty impatient with waiting in line but found it wasn't to bad when I was on Ovation. I only did it once... I'm sure kids would line up repeatedly.
  6. Yep, noticed that on a couple different cruises I was looking at... LOL another intern screw up.
  7. I'm not sure what is going for you but we always pick our cabin. What ship and sailing?
  8. I think the issue for Vancouver is getting under the Lions Gate bridge. I know they do it as a one off when the ship heads west to Hawaii but I think the timing of the tides has to be just right and doing that on a weekly basis would be troublesome.
  9. I go back and forth on this issue. Last month on Adventure we had MTD at 6:45 each night. On the first night, since I felt like we had a good servers, I asked for the same servers and table each night. The head waiter set us up and told us to arrive at 6:35 and bypass the the podium and head strait to our table. That was a first for us. It felt like TD but at a little better time for us.
  10. No, you should be fine... that is what I use all the time one haven't had a problem. EDIT: Welcome to CC
  11. You still have, on the last day of your cruise, double the $ holds of your actual onboard spend. If you don't have the credit limit people would have problems. 5 days later later does you good if you card is declined the day before embarkation.
  12. One of the stupidest things that Royal does is preauthorize all your purchases on your card but then charge the entire amount as a separate transaction at the end of the cruise. You end up with double your onboard spending showing up as pending. While that isn't a problem for us since we have high and no limit credit cards for some people it might be a problem. Also for those without credit cards who use debit cards it extremely stupid since it's not just credit that is tied up but actual cash.
  13. As others have said, it's not a choice. After the $1000 spend you get 30,000 points. One of the choices you have with points is to convert to OBC. The other options are... upgrade from interior to Outside View cabin, discount off cruise fare (points equal the same the OBC option.), or companion or full cruise discounts.
  14. I agree that is a down side however the higher up you go the better. I think the OP looking at deck 9 so I think things should be fine. We just had a JS on 6 and found the obstructions to be the worst we have had on an aft cabin. However, I'd still take it over a standard balcony. This was my view from deck 10...
  15. In my experience, smaller ships typically have beverage packages cheaper than larger ships. Of course that isn't universally true but not a bad "rule of thumb". Of couse Itinerary can play a role as can date of sailing but if two cruises are similar in length and itinerary you can safely expect the older, smaller ship to have lower DBP and UDP price.
  16. I did read what you wrote. Questioning my reading comprehension isn't going to advance your cause. You threatened legal action in your first email to M. Bailey ,which you published here on CC, so at that point the story ends for them and the only logical course of action is to terminate the business relationship. The company will take the position there is no way to salvage the relationship and any accommodation short of complete capitulation that they make will be assumed to rebuffed by you. You said you weren't scared to take them to court so go ahead. Big talk on a forum or in emails is common. Action not so much. Many people gave you good advice here on CC including the email to Michael Bailey's executive office. You chose, in your communication to his office, to go nuclear. That the next response you got from them was a cancellation, which seems perfectly reasonable to me, is not surprising. But yet you still want to rant at everyone who doesn't validate your every action. Had your email to the executive office been even slightly more measured, history has shown us here on CC, some special accommodation more than likely would have been possible. I'm sure that it is possible that a computer error on Royal's part caused your unfortunate circumstances. Your combative responses to it did nothing to resolve it. If all you are looking for is validation you have come to the wrong place. I wish you well in your lawsuit.
  17. There are no downsides... I have had two different aft facing cabins on Liberty and would gladly take one again, they are our preferred cabins on Voyager and Freedom class ships. As to why they are cheaper I can't answer. Grab it before they are gone. This is our corner aft balcony on deck 10. These are pics from 1704. The cabin next to and connecting with the JR suites. One of the biggest advantages of the aft facing balconies is that they are double length and fit loungers as well as chairs and a table. Book it before they are gone.
  18. I've done several of the 4 day's out of LA. I like them but not necessarily for the port stops. The last two times I didn't get off the ship in Ensenada. I don't recommend the "La Buffadora" excursion. It's kind of lame. Your weather will be good since it is summer. On Catalina Island I've done the semi submerged underwater tour a couple of times. It was cool. You see a lot of colorful fish. There is a fun little mini golf that'd I'd recommend as well. You can just walk up and play. No reservations are required. It's not a typical mini golf.
  19. When you threatened to take them to court in your initial email, which you presented in the previous thread, you sealed the deal for them cancelling. I don't know about you but I'm not doing business with people who choose the nuclear option as the first option when something goes wrong.
