I loved my stop in Puerto Plata a few weeks ago. I had one of the best excursions ever! Jumping off cliffs Damajagua.

I've convinced DW to go to NYC for a few days prior to our N/E Canada trip. She made me promise I won't take her to anywhere that'll scare her. LOL That sad thing is our cities don't have to be this way. It just requires appropriate governance. The best example of that Portland. It is complete chaos and that chaos can be directly attributed to decisions made by local politicians. Across the Columbia river in Vancouver, WA politicians have made different decisions and very little of the chaos of Portland has spilled over into southern WA state. When you enable addition and homelessness you get more addiction and homelessness. Haiti is a completely different situation but at the end of the day the problem is governance. This can easily be proven with the shining example of The Dominican Republic. Same island, different result.

The vast majority of people have absolutely no idea what goes on down there and in other major cities. It can be dangerous in broad daylight. At night it can look like a zombie apocalypse.

Neither unlucky nor wearing excessive jewelry. I wear no jewelry. I don't even wear a watch. I have worked with addicts on the streets for 30 years in all of those locations. I felt safer in Labadee.

Royal will stop going to Labadee if it becomes unsafe to be there. To suggest that there is risk that Royal is ignoring is preposterous. Who knows... tomorrow they could decide to cancel. However, I have 100% confidence that the situation is being monitored and should circumstances change for Labadee Royal will make other arrangements.

I have never been attacked, attempted to be stabbed, or robbed at Labadee. None of those things are true in Los Angeles, Oakland, Portland, Seattle or Vancouver BC. 🙂 Last month in Labadee... A month and a half ago in Los Angeles... 🙂

Yes there is parking right next to the embarkation hall. It's $20 per day (24 hour period).

You will find it in the cruise planner under dining. If you don't see it, you may be too early. It is usually one of the first things to show up under dining...

They'll head to the DR before they trek to Labadee. It's a 1:20 minute drive to Jamani, DR... There is a whole lot more to loot there than whatever a days supplies might be at Labadee

I just used Cruise Control last month and you are correct, it is $25 per person. They were fine as far as service was concerned.

I've used Galveston Express as well as Uber... It'll always be Uber going forward. It's very easy and just as cheap.

My grandson just graduated from HS and works at Wendy's here in CA. I asked him what thought about the new $20 an hour rule. I was surprised by his answer. He said it's stupid because he believes it's going to lead to the closure of his restaurant and he'll have to find a new job. He's been there for over 2 years now. He needs part-time flexible work because he is just starting college and this is the closest to home so it's really convenient. He said "I'll take the money as long as it lasts but I don't think I'm worth $20 an hour and the potheads I work with who are stoned everyday, all day at work definitely don't deserve it."

I don't usually use mine either but DW usually does... She'll go and get a Latte to have with breakfast before we leave the ship.

I believe that one voucher gets you 40% off a bottle under $100 and 20% off a bottle over $100. I'm not 100% sure though. I'm sure some else will chime in and confirm.

The last few cruises I've been on they have been available each day. I do remember some posts back a while ago indicating that it was inconsistent but haven't read that at all in quite a while. Have you seen any recent reports where someone was denied on debarkation day? I'm hoping this has been standardized across the fleet. 🙂

I have never missed a Costa Maya port and have never heard any indication it is a super hard port to dock. I have had excursions canceled due to weather but never missed the port. I'm not doubting that that is what was said to you but whoever said it was spouting complete nonsense.

That doesn't work if you are booked through a TA only if you book direct. My TA sends invoices almost immediately. I find it odd that the OP's TA is sending a screen shot of cruising power. I find your TA's "don't you see $0 balance due" to be a really weird statement and sending you a screen shot of their screen even weirder. Nowhere in your account are you able to see the amount owing when your booking is through a TA. Your TA should know this. As an example from my own experience... I booked a cruise with my TA yesterday. At 3:14 pm yesterday I emailed him and told him to book us Anthem of the Seas for August 2025. At 3:21 pm he replied he had booked but needed to call in to get my C&A discount applied. He sent an email attached PDF with Royals invoice that showed the price prior to my balcony discount being applied. . At 6:15 pm he emailed again with my deposited invoice showing the deposit paid and the price he had quoted outstanding minus the deposit paid. I don't know what your TA isn't doing exactly that is supposed to generate an invoice but it seems near automatic from my experience.

So some guy on Facebook says he talked to the “company” and was told they are redirecting the ship. LOL my cousin girlfriends taxidermist stayed at a holiday inn express once and said there will be no cancellations at Labadee
