  1. It’s been a very long time since cruising Royal. I checked us in, got email confirmation, and got the Guest Ticket Booklet which I printed out. Booklet does not have anything that appears to be a “boarding pass” to me. Is there such a thing or is Passport all that is needed at Port?
  2. Enjoy this “relaxation” cruise. (I still maintain no one could have kept up with you two most recently in Italy/Greece during your land and sea days.) And an upgrade now - yahoo.
  3. True, and the “night clubs” that sit empty all day long have significant bar sales late at night.
  4. A Library is more than just a quiet place. The post you quoted - I was tying to point out that they converted a small square footage space that someone must have decided was underutilized into a gift shop while at the same time there are several much larger spaces on a ship that are only used a few hours a day if that.
  5. No way of knowing for sure however I suspect every time a ship goes to dry dock we will lose another library.
  6. I never realized the Pride library was once where the arcade now is, i remember it being where the “gift shop” now is, it was a really enjoyable space that was often in use. It provided a service 24 hours a day - books and games and game tables and comfy chairs.
  7. Talking about “space” on a ship, as I have been thinking about this, for instance one example, on the Pride the NightClub is huge and is used for maybe 3 hours a couple times a week - there is a lot of space on a ship that is underutilized- yet still sitting there.
  8. Somewhat similar to the song “they paved paradise and put up a parking lot,” it appears we are now “losing libraries and putting in gift shops!” Just off 25 nights on the Pride, library lost and gift shop in its place. But to give credit where credit is due, they did have two shelves deck 3 aft against a wall that had some books. I realize the new class ships do not have libraries - I did ask on Celebration about one as I thought perhaps I had missed it, Guest Services said there was not one but brought out a carton from the office in the back that had books guests had left behind - so when on Mardi Gras after Celebration I asked about any books they might have from past guests and the young lady looked at me as if I had a third eye- just sharing my experience! So not certain, but it does seem when a ship goes into dry dock (Pride just came out of dry dock in May) the library may be lost to a gift shop!
  9. Bethany, now I need to get caught up on your “live,” so nice to meet you, just off ship this morning and home now as we only live an hour south or Tampa, we were also on for the 15 day TA, all went well, but home feels good.
  10. @ninjacat123have to tell you, you two take the best selfies ever! Glad you are having such a wonderful time, am enjoying your pre-cruise trip. Currently sitting in EWK awaiting flight to FCO, then shuttle to the Pride. See you there!
  11. Stopped at Chase Bank today and was told 2-3 business days but that they would probably be in tomorrow. (Lucky bladder!) @ninjacat123forget when you are leaving, hope you can purchase some yet. We aren’t flying out until next week, SRQ to EWK to FCO.
  12. @ninjacat123are you taking Euros with you (did you exchange $s for Euros at a bank) or are you going credit card all the way?
  13. If only MSC would get rid of those two “not required” steps when checking in, it would cause so much less frustration for everyone.
  14. Our PVP used both of ours (at our request as it is a cruise that we paid more for than usual for us) on our 25th cruise next week, and have received email confirmation from Guest Admin that it has been applied.
  15. Gave mine to six-year old granddaughter, you’d think I’d given her “gold!”
  16. We have done 10plus MSC cruises, always do my research as to price and what cabin we want, then I book directly through website, have never had a problem.
  17. Agree with @jimbo5544, have done that walk a couple times, doable, just be aware of various vehicles coming and going, enjoy both ships, side by sides are great ideas, have also done side by sides between MSC and Carnival at Port of Miami, worked great as well.
  18. We have always asked and been told “oh yes we have them.” They do not seem to be sitting out on counter.
  19. We were on Mardi Gras in September, seven night cruise, one night complimentary and after that $8 charge per guest.
  20. Lunch - as many times as you want. Dinner - seven night cruise only complimentary once,14 nights - not sure.
  21. Tea Time is (almost always) from 3-4pm on Sea Days. It is lovely, you can sit with a group or ask for a Table for 2 or a Single (last cruise I went to Tea Time once by myself with a book and it was nice). Lipton Tea is served but they also offer “special teas” which come with a cost so beware of that. They have mini sandwiches (usually cucumber and salmon) and desserts you do not see outside of Tea Time. I love the Scones with Clotted Cream and when husband is with me he tries about everything he sees.
