We went once, I’m pretty sure on Nieuw Statendam, and I was excited to be going. We too are one and done. Our waiter was terrible, we are obviously too boring for his taste, so the service was poor. Other tables were more to his liking, livelier chatter and plenty of extras. Oh well!

@kazuI hope the short-term annoyance of many showings with bring long-term success with an appropriate offer from people who will love and appreciate your home.

@Vict0riann, Ann, thank you for the photos and story about the fly-in, I really enjoyed reading/seeing! Oh dear, deer! THREE??

The machines are not Nespresso branded, but that’s the kind of pod they use. We do use and appreciate having the machine!

Our mousers are 19, and find mice less than interesting unfortunately. We had a mousy struggle during the winter, but we’re working on it. One good thing about summer - no house mice! One cat that we had who has gone over the Rainbow Bridge, spent his formative years in the cold cruel world, and he knew exactly what to do.
@kazu, you are a wonder of grit and determination. Hoping when we are enjoying the October cruise, you and Ivan are comfortably settled in your new home. This means that all the other boxes have been successfully checked!
You redefine strength, love, and commitment. But you’re in the middle of a box of Morton’s salt! At any given time, at least one of us is sending you a hug, and holding the umbrella as best we can.

Ann @Vict0riann, I'm thinking if we all descended on Jacqui @kazu, she would make sure we were well organized and productive while we chatted❣️

Good Saturday afternoon! Put us in the camp of being amazed at the creativity and shear feat of organizing a 5-mile opening ceremony. No, didn’t love every minute, but wouldn’t have missed it for the world. It is always a treat to remember our wonderful stays in what we consider the best city in the world.

@0106Thanks for Pony Penning Day! I devoured every Marguerite Henry book I could get my hands on, so probably most of them.
I have a friend whose elementary school age daughter could not be bothered with reading. She just had no interest. I suggested Misty of Chincoteague since they live not far away in Maryland, and it was a hit! Her daughter is 16 now, and a voracious reader. I am very proud to take credit for that.

I think you can only see that on line if you booked direct through HAL.
Not even then.
You have to call the ever-helpful (🤬) 800 number receive a copy on demand.- 2

@marshhawk, Annie, absolutely no need to apologize. You have every right to be aggravated by an increasingly-aggravating medical system, and we are a very safe place to vent.
Many hugs for both of you ~~- 23

@sailingdutchy, was that the “Let’s Dodge Some Hurricanes” Special? We were on that spectacular trip - such a great time and amazing crew. We laughed that the Captain’s daily weather briefing became must see TV. Thanks for the pictures and memories.

We know the fixed tips are distributed, but we often have a favorite drink waiter who knows us and our preferences, and is always a delight. The last occasion, I asked to ensure that the “extra” tips added to a receipt go straight to the waiter’s pocket. They do, and he was grateful.

On our last cruise, our originally assigned fixed dining table was not to our liking. Tables for 2 were too close together, and the “neighbors” wouldn’t stop talking to us. I spoke with the Neptune concierge, and we were assigned a table for 6 as a two-top, and had a spectacular waiter and assistant. The Neptune concierges are magicians and miracle workers.

Independent me has always had great luck with the 800 #. Fast, friendly, dependable - until late last year when they offshored. The 800 # is just awful now; the people I’ve dealt with are ignorant of cruising, and I have been flat out lied to.
I have a friend who has always used a live TA and loves her, so that’s where my next 3 bookings lie.

@StLouisCruisers, I hope you have a good day in Kirkwall and some touring suggestions. It’s a port on a planned cruise in 2025; it also featured prominently in a book I recently read, so I’m very much looking forward to it.
We had a noisy thunderstorm and downpour this morning - very happy to have the rain. Unfortunately, it was not a heatwave breaker, and we expect 99 today. Sauna, anyone?
@Vict0riann, I think your surgery is tomorrow. You’re on my mind.
As are all the rest of you. Stay safe and plan cruises!

@marshhawkyour general outlook on life, wry self-deprecating humor, and of course love of cats just touch my heart. One of these days maybe we'll run into each other on a BHB.
Best ~

@rafinmd Wishing you a very happy birthday, and a year filled with good health and fun travels! You are an integral part of this group, and your efforts and pictures are always appreciated - even though I tend to be mostly a lurker.
Stay cool - in every way!

In 1990, on my mother’s last cruise, we visited spectacular College Fjord. We were on the Pacific Princess of Love Boat fame; so long ago, but a very happy memory scar.
Happy Birthday wishes to @kazu and @GTVCRUISER! Jacqui, so glad to hear that the weather is cooperating for your day!

Those are pre-mixed cocktails. There’s an assortment, obviously, and I don’t recall what they were, but think Margarita, Old Fashioned, etc.

Yes, you select your own flights on FlightEase, and pay at final payment date. However, if there's a reason you need to be actually ticketed so the airline will talk to you, you will need to actively request that and pay at that time.
