  1. But hopefully no canals. At least not the important ones.
  2. Not sure if we had a hard date for the China release yet. "Coming soon" - June 26.
  3. I generally can do without special events and parties in my cabin each evening. However if I ever feel inclined for them I just need to place a pineapple upside down on my cabin door.
  4. No DX price drops for several US and European cruises but for my Singapore cruise the DX is $44.99 pppd.
  5. Only one cruise DX price dropped and that is from Singapore. All of my US and Europe based cruises through 2025 remain unchanged.
  6. Next Wednesday June 14 they just scheduled one of those periodic travel agent Vicki Freed coffee chats with Michael Bayley. There is potential for a Utopia announcement. Keep an eye out for a test load.
  7. On the public website how do you obtain an invoice without paying a deposit? Seems like if they offer refundable and only after you pay the deposit they inform you that it is actually NRD, that seems like it's misleading.
  8. When connecting for the first time follow the prompts. Choose Access Internet: Then each user creates their own username and PIN.
  9. Once you create a Voom login you can share your credentials with anyone you choose to. It's not a paper voucher or code you can simply hand to someone. You have to do some work for someone else to use your free Voom, or your have to share your personal information such as name, cabin and birthdate with that person so they can sign up as if they are you, but if they choose the wrong plan and they pick a plan that isn't free it will be billed to your cabin, so you may want to do that step yourself.
  10. Whenever someone posts a "Can I bring this legal in my home state but not legal everywhere drug with me?" type of question this is exactly the "It's not a problem until it's a problem" outcome that can occur. Another scenario that can occur - a officer with a drug sensing dog is standing near the ship on a sidewalk and the dog hits when a person walks past. Now they board the ship and search that person's cabin. Perfectly legal search. Now it's a problem for that person if they find anything not legal in their country. It's never a problem until it is, but when it becomes a problem, it can become a very big problem.
  11. So if everyone gets free Voom for 2 devices plus "Top tier Internet Days/Devices" does this mean you get 3 devices as Pinnacle?
  12. The downside to using a CAS voucher for beer is the lower price compared to cocktails. If you are likely to use all of your CAS drinks and you would enjoy another drink then you might save the CAS drinks for wine or cocktails since these cost more, then buy a beer at the lower price. Also don't forget about the two 50% off beer or wine vouchers. These are available per cruise, not per day. On a day when you might go over your daily CAS drink limit buy a beer with a 50% voucher and save your CAS drinks for more expensive drinks.
  13. That's typically the new cruiser who thinks they have to print the entire 23 page eDocs. However a new cruiser is also likely to struggle with an app so the reality new to cruise will always be the ones packing passports in suitcases or having stuff all over the place since they are unaware what to expect. IME when someone is fumbling and delaying everyone else it's often the person on the phone and more often than not someone who didn't think to screenshot anything. I'll never forget the brains at Apple who though it was a great idea to automatically lock your phone if if turned it downward like you have to do when scanning your boarding pass boarding to get on a plane. Doh!
  14. It's nearly impossible to watch the CFL in the US let alone on a ship. Heck it's hard enough watching hockey in the US. A subscription to one service or another is required.
  15. That was the practice during the initial restart of cruising over a year ago. That is no longer the case. Is your app out of date?
  16. I'm a printer. A person who prints paper boarding passes to board a plane or a ship. If I don't then right at the possibly worst time I'll drop my phone and it will either shatter then stop working or bounce with perfect precision and go into a storm drain. By printing on paper I ward of the evil spirits who would cause me to fumble my ever increasingly expensive device. I have my paper copy in my pocket with my passport where it's safe. I can whip it out in record time as opposed to unlocking my device, going into the gallery, clearing the pop up notification of whatever newsworthy world event just occurred (seriously Britney Spears did it again?) before finding the screenshot of my setsail pass. I'm old. Set in my ways. Oh well.
  17. Usually, but it's best to stop by the LA desk and inquire.
  18. Yes, which can be traded for other ships with other cruisers.
  19. I think this is part of the problem. Some people report good success but others have a terrible experience. It could be based on the type of device or the version of code running on it. Apple vs. Android, old iPhone vs. new iPhone, Galaxy vs. Pixel, how active you are on your device which can keep the wifi connection going, etc.
  20. Used to be a fee based platform but since notifications are pretty unreliable they made it free.
  21. Prior to the shutdown ships with Playmakers had the ability to pick from a wider variety of sports content beyond ESPN Caribbean or ESPN International. Often Playmaker ships showed all kinds of sports on different TVs. Since the restart it's not a clear if Royal maintained these extra subscriptions to sports content on Playmaker ships.
