  1. Interesting comment. We recently snatched a massively-discounted last-minute bargain with Regent. 4, 5, or maybe 6 days into this cruise we received, and completed, a questionnaire. Within 24 hours all the issues we had raised (apart from appalling internet and absence of all-fruit tisanes) were addressed and resolved. In fact, to resolve one thing, the executive chef called in person to explain! Not once on any cruise with Azamara have I received such service. In fact, I feel that Azamara ask you to provide feedback so that they appear to be interested, but that it is a hollow gesture.
  2. According to CruiseMapper her last refurbishment was in 2021. Of course, the extent of that refurbishment is unknown. I am somewhat surprised by AllisonJames' comment about Journey's condition. We were on board for three weeks or so in March and I can't say that I noticed any areas that were 'down at the heels'.
  3. Brilliant info. I use ITAmatrix but have never looked at the breakdown of the price. Thanks.
  4. Unanswered question, so I'll repeat because I would like to know... APD's Just to put a quantum to this... How much are the APD in the UK? And how much in Europe? Do the UK APD's apply if you fly from EU into UK and then on to, say, New York on a single ticket. How about if you fly economy on the leg into UK, and Business out from UK, thus two tickets?

    Tote Bag

Sometimes. Last two cruises - no!
  6. We were adjacent to that suite on a different Azamara ship, and the occupants had problems with noise from that crew access point - primarily arising from the door slamming. The occupants complained to Guest Relations, and the door was sealed!
  7. You are welcome. Sorry to hear that you were misled.
  8. For those who are unfamiliar with this expression (including me) please be so kind as to explain what it means.
  9. I believe that you will soon receive an email with all the relevant information.
  10. I believe that the 'one change' rule applied to onboard bookings only. Were your original bookings made on board and assigned to your TA, or did you book thorough your TA? If the latter is the case, then the t&c's have not changed.
  11. Have you submitted the online form? Although I believe that patience is a virtue, it is often true that the squeaking wheel gets the most oil!
  12. Fill in the form and wait. Repeat as necessary, or at will. Somehow, with only two forms submitted, I was astonished to find that my info is now correct.
  13. Nooooooooooo! Could not agree more.
  14. My comment was not directed at any specific individual! Your humour did not escape me, and I guess that you realise that this 'bacon' thing is petty, but please let's not expand this digression.
  15. I have enjoyed English bacon in Windows on every Azamara cruise. We cannot get it where we live, and it is something I really miss. It is usually on the starboard side of the 'forward-most' breakfast servery, but if you don't see it, ask.
  16. It is bizarre how one comment is picked on and takes a thread off at a petty tangent. I admit to fuelling this, but nevertheless I feel uncomfortable.
  17. I was not slandering it! I liked the Canadian bacon. For me it was the only viable bacon on Seven Seas Voyager. Their English bacon was that vile streaky stuff. The American bacon (Applewood smoked, as I recall) was also very streaky and invariably offered in a near-cremated form, and therefore, to me, disgusting.
  18. Yukk! And crispy - even yukkier!
  19. No, no, no. Not streaky. Good, honest, back bacon. I cannot abide streaky. Streaky was Regent s version of English bacon. Yukkk!
  20. I have recently returned from a 15—day cruise with Regent, and I cannot say that I found the crew, or the staff, impersonal or cold. In fact I would go almost as far as to say that you could exchange the crew/staff from 'Seven Seas Voyager' with any Azamara ship, and you've be unaware of any difference. I thought the entertainment better, and the theatre is certainly far superior. Other things that Regent did better than Azamara: embarkation process; boarding, safety drill, booze in general. Stuff that I thought wasn't as good: there was no decent English bacon (had to make do with Canadian); the showers in the standard suites are smaller than in Azamara's CC suites; and there are significantly fewer activities during the day. Equal: although the menus are more imaginative the execution was sometimes quite poor; for me the 'vibe' was every bit as good as Azamara. Having said this, I could never, ever justify paying Regent's prices. We got a last-minute irresistible bargain, which made this cruise exceptionally good value.
  21. Thanks APD's Just to put a quantum to this... How much are the APD in the UK? And how much in Europe? Do the UK APD's apply if you fly from EU into UK and then on to, say, New York on a single ticket. How about if you fly economy on the leg into UK, and Business out from UK, thus two tickets?
  22. If you mix your flight classes like that, would these have be ticketed separately, and therefore you have to handle your checked luggage and re-check it in at the intermediate airport?
  23. Gulp! The process must be very difficult, or perhaps he's doing it in his spare time, or maybe insufficient resources have been allocated.
