  1. I don't think that these stations need necessarily to be plumbed-in. They certainly require a power supply, but the water could be by means of a portable container. Whilst this solution is more labour-intensive, and requires monitoring, the filtration/purification could be done in one location. Alternatively, as on some ships, the station itself does the work. Therefore, waiting for dry-dock might not be necessary.
  2. Some (both River and Ocean) cruise lines offer lightweight metal bottles for drinks. Uniworld and Regent Seven Seas, for example. In my limited experience these are not insulated, so cold/iced water warms quickly. We take our own insulated bottles.
  3. Well... 8048 (Cat N2) disappeared during my prolonged negotiations, but I got 8029 (Cat N1) for the same price.
  4. We've been offered 8048 on Onward. I'd appreciate any comments or feedback.
  5. What do you mean by 'nicest'. There are so many aspects of the ship, cre and staff that it might help if you could be more specific.
  6. The further south you go, the earlier this gets. Our credo is 'never after 11:00'. There is a sound, historical reason for this. Before the days of readily-available/affordable refrigeration, in an Italian climate, the milk used to sour quickly. And, of course, generally-speaking, the further South you go the warmer it gets. Therefore, it was better to be safe than sorry - no milk in your coffee at a time when it was likely to be sour!
  7. IMHO the future cruise staff on Journey are outstanding.

Since you wrote the original comment, perhaps you could rephrase it, please. I have read multiple definitions of the expression, but I don't understand its use in this particular context. If the discount/rebate amount is 'a wash', what is it equal to? Honestly — I don't understand what you wrote.

Sorry, but that doesn't help. I don't open sites that don't allow me to prevent all cookies etc. The site you have chosen makes this very difficult.

I am not familiar with the expression 'is a wash'. Even after on-line research, I regret to say that I don't understand what you mean. Please be so kind as to enlighten me.

On one occasion I did a comparison: UK TA's v US TA's for a specific cruise, in a CC suite. Whilst I do not recall or have a record of the specifics, I discovered that, whilst — generally-speaking — US TA's will offer more OBC without much discount on price, those in the UK offer discounts on the price but little, if any, extra OBC. In all - except one - cases, the US TA's provided an overall better deal. UK TA's required less deposit, and final payment was usually a month or so closer to sail date that their US counterparts. But, the most important discovery was that there was not much difference. The saving I found was never more than 5%.
  12. I think that this question has been asked and answered in these boards previously. She is committed to a private charter. Please, please, everyone, before we get into a series of posts along the lines of the previous post on this topic. let's leave it at that!
  13. To clarify... AFAIK CC suites have either a bathtub or a walk-in shower enclosure. I have only stayed in those with a shower enclosure, but I assume that those with a bathtub have a shower head of some description over the bathtub. By looking at Azamara's deck plans it is possible to determine whether the suite has a walk-in shower enclosure.
  14. May I assume from this that your cruise was not reduced?
  15. Interesting comment. We recently snatched a massively-discounted last-minute bargain with Regent. 4, 5, or maybe 6 days into this cruise we received, and completed, a questionnaire. Within 24 hours all the issues we had raised (apart from appalling internet and absence of all-fruit tisanes) were addressed and resolved. In fact, to resolve one thing, the executive chef called in person to explain! Not once on any cruise with Azamara have I received such service. In fact, I feel that Azamara ask you to provide feedback so that they appear to be interested, but that it is a hollow gesture.
  16. According to CruiseMapper her last refurbishment was in 2021. Of course, the extent of that refurbishment is unknown. I am somewhat surprised by AllisonJames' comment about Journey's condition. We were on board for three weeks or so in March and I can't say that I noticed any areas that were 'down at the heels'.
  17. Brilliant info. I use ITAmatrix but have never looked at the breakdown of the price. Thanks.
  18. Unanswered question, so I'll repeat because I would like to know... APD's Just to put a quantum to this... How much are the APD in the UK? And how much in Europe? Do the UK APD's apply if you fly from EU into UK and then on to, say, New York on a single ticket. How about if you fly economy on the leg into UK, and Business out from UK, thus two tickets?

Sometimes. Last two cruises - no!
  20. We were adjacent to that suite on a different Azamara ship, and the occupants had problems with noise from that crew access point - primarily arising from the door slamming. The occupants complained to Guest Relations, and the door was sealed!
  21. You are welcome. Sorry to hear that you were misled.
  22. For those who are unfamiliar with this expression (including me) please be so kind as to explain what it means.
