  1. How many people does this involve? If 16 or more, work with a TA that does group bookings and you may find better pricing than if each person makes their own independent booking.
  2. Some people like to deal directly with the company offering the product. But the Princess employee alliance is likely to be with Princess, so if you have problems and your booking is with a TA, the TA can fight for you, not for the company. No. But the money they save by not paying commissions to a TA is spent to support their own sales staff. The answer is that "it depends." Some TAs just charge the same current price that Princess would charge. I know of one large volume TA that always charges what the current Princess price is, but words its offerings to imply it is special pricing when it is not. Example "Princess offers our customers this discount on balcony cabins." The statement is true, but it is the same price you would pay if you booked directly with Princess and Princess offers that pricing to all TAs. But for those TAs that do discount the Princess price and/or add amenities, some will have pricing better than than a large volume TA and some will have worse pricing than a large volume TA. Any TA can set up a "group" booking for as many cruises as they want to. Then if you book with such a TA, the "group" pricing is better than the regular pricing. How much of that better pricing is shared with the customer varies with the TA and some TAs may share none of it with the customer. (Although it is a "group" booking, it is not a real group and you will unlikely know who else on a cruise used the same TA and is a part of that "group" booking.) In addition, TAs get amenity points with each sale they make. These points can be used to provide amenities to the customer such as OBC, bottles of wine, a specialty dinner, etc. But the points can also be used instead to just give the TA a higher commission with none of it having to be shared with a customer. Amenities coming to the customer via amenity points may be listed as coming from the TA, but they are really coming from Princess through the TA.
  3. Two years ago it would have been $40/person/day.
  4. As I understand it, UK bookings are with non-refundable deposits and even to rebook the same cabin is only allowed one time and comes with a rebooking fee.
  5. Interesting times for the shows on the Sky. On a number of other ships the shows are at 7:30 and at 9:30. Another reason why Traditional Dining option for those who liked it is better. You did not have to guess months in advance of embarkation what time to schedule dinner so you could make a show. You came on board and learned what time your early or late dining time was and knew you could make a show.
  6. Keep the current coloring scheme, but: a) If shipped free to home have some vertical stripes b) If shipped to home for $10 have some horizontal stripes c) If picked up at the port, have no stripes
  7. Only place to purchase the grounds coffee package is in the past.
  8. In general, Princess pays no attention to the selected boarding times (actually, they are selected check-in times). Show up when you want and you can check-in and, if boarding has started, board the ship.. It rarely gets reduced. There have been some promotions in other countries where the Plus package was offered for less. There have been some very specific promotions to get the Premier Package for the price of Plus. And if you book the standard fare at a great sale price, upgrading to the Plus package could cost much more than $60/day.
  9. Best, but not all countries allow the rebookings without losing deposit or even more.
  10. The real original had: a) A crisp wafer on the bottom b) Very rich chocolate, not chocolate podding c) A Godiva chocolate on top with the Sea Witch Logo Then it started changing: First to go was the crisp bottom, replaced by a thin cake slice Then the Godiva chocolate was no more. A chocolate stick was used. And then none. Then the very rich chocolate filling was replaced by chocolate pudding And now, the abomination served currently.
  11. Those who booked a cruise AND ordered their Medallions before a certain date last December had them shipped at no cost even if the Plus or Premier package was not ordered. If the Medallion was not ordered until about the Devember deadline, there is a $10 shipping charge. Those who ordered with the increased price Plus/Premier packages are supposed to have the Medallions shipped free, but many are finding this not to be the case.
  12. Only USA residents can be mailed the Medallions. So many cruises, especially those that embark countries other than the USA, may not have many passengers able to have them shipped in advance of the cruise.
  13. History: a) Princess Theater used to have two performances an evening about an hour in length, a total of 120 minutes b) Because two shows were not enough for the demand, they would put on the same show the next day one time for a total of three times. c) I do not know why they figured that was not working out, so they changed it to three performances the same evening, but shortened them to 40 minutes, so the performance time still totaled 120 minutes in one evening for the performers. d) And then they changed it back to current two performances of a show in the evening, but for a total of 80 minutes.
  14. Yes, but once you pay and the flights are ticketed you no longer have a flexible fare and cannot get refared to a lower fare and cannot cancel without penalties. If you do not prepay and get ticketed, then the flexible fare can be refared or cancelled by you at no penalty until 45 days before the cruise or flight, which ever comes first.
  15. You do not have to contact Princess.
  16. Although called formal nights, people can wear decent "smart casual" clothes. Many men go with a tie, but no jacket. Some go without tie or jacket.
  17. Pre-app, Princess had x number of people to deliver food and drink. With the introduction of the app, I do not think that the number of people who deliver food and drink was increased. But the workload has greatly increased as many people do use the app to order food and beverages to be delivered to where they currently are on the ship.
  18. Part of the excuse for raising the price to $60/day is that the crew incentive amount has gone up.
  19. And there are the posts that have said the drinks never arrived, but the app says they were delivered.
  20. I do not know if that is true or not about the taxes, but the main restriction is that any alcohol served or sold in Texas must have been purchased by the seller through an authorized Texas wholesale distributor.
  21. Belize usually uses local tenders, not Princess ones. The local tenders have significantly more capacity than the Princess tenders, so the wait to get on one is not as long. On the other hand, with larger capacity they take longer to load up.
  22. My experience may be different than your will be. Back in December all the Princess excursions for a western Caribbean cruise were scheduled pre-cruise for an early start. Once on board, we found most of the early ones we had looked at were now scheduled for a more reasonable starting time that was 1 to 3 hours later than originally scheduled.
  23. That is only if you arrive before boarding starts. If you arrive once the early arrivals have boarded, you will board as soon as you finish checking in, no matter what your Captain's Circle status .
  24. Or maybe the testing period is over.
