  1. again I thought you did Quantum already this year. You really do love this class of ship.
  2. yea because you already live in NYC those of us in pa or NJ do not want to go under the river in a tunnel and come out dealing with traffic and the parking at NYC terminal is all rooftop I hear. Bayonne does get quite a lot of folks coming up from the south like PA, MD, or OH even. Some come from NE and just drive into NJ as well. whatever done arguing over this. I like Bayonne and I want a 2nd garage. You just go out of NYC
  3. well that is fascinating as I just made an appointment for this Friday and I put my insurance information in and it would not take. Said due to funding they can't take. So I went in again and put in NO insurance and went through all the steps and go an appointment. so in a nutshell, when dealing with Walgreens just say no insurance. the drop down list is confusing for insurance and have the type that is listed over 20 times with variants and sometimes they want a group number but my card does not have one. so just select NO insurance. BTW the appointment setup is now TIMED and so be quick as you have 3 minutes or maybe 4
  4. Funny as I thought I lost a whole year since Ench is doing 2023. My first cruise to Alaska was on the Radiance and I loved all the glass and the fact that it was a smaller ship. I also did Explorer in 2016(NO covered pools) and then Ovation in 2019 OMG great ship for Alaska. I would say to OP do Enchantment so that perhaps the inside passage from Van BC can be experienced. And ships are easy to walk to form hotels near the port and ya can take the train from airport to port area too. I would say to OP then go back again and do Ovation.
  5. aw I did not realize the captains did this for PC. thanks for explaining. So in your opinion, do you think RCI will need to adjust more cruises that the already mentioned dates?
  6. actually some of my hearing is better. I can hear a train coming up the valley before others can. and idling car engines are loud to me as well
  7. first I chuckle at the deck you called Melanoma because I have often thought of this as well. I mean sitting for hours in the sun even with best sunscreen is still not so good for the skin. And yes, shouting above the music has caused me to get a sore throat a lot. This is why during covid if on a ship and I wake up with a sore throat, I stop and think about the day before and how much talking I did and was the music loud.
  8. well not just the volume but what type of music and for how long. Sorry but loud rock music in the Buffet for breakfast is not appreciated by me and I bet a lot of others.
  9. yea but at least they most of the time apologize with a sign or an explanation
  10. which canal is more strict in your opinion, Panama or Suez? thanks for your comments.
  11. yea a while they are at it, be transparent and tell us why some shows were not being performed. A lot of us a couple weeks ago were most pissed not to see Mamma Mia. I know engine issues is more important, just wanted to add to the conversation. Now I hear drink packages not getting the nice tumblers are they are low on stock. perhaps a list is starting. still engine issues is of concern since I am on the Aug 29th trip.
  12. aw yes I got confused sorry. Not sure if I would do any sailings not from Bayonne but Roy taking a train into the city might be interesting. I would have to do this from Phila or phila airport. Or Newark.
  13. I see by schedule you were on Summit. So I suppose it all starts with what ships sail in April and then the flow of passengers from each ship and how many fly in and how many drive in. Sounds like for each ship there is some availability in garage but more so for Oasis class than the others. Still wish there was a 2nd garage even if only 2 levels.
  14. great to hear this. I have just heard over various posts that Oasis gets priority and no one but you have said they were lucky enough to get to the parking garage. I guess the best thing is not arrive too early. So I will get it a go in mid Sept to see if I am lucky
  15. can you give an example of when this might happen or what region of travel the USCG would do this? Fascinating that there is a minimum speed and propulsion requirements which I suppose is a good thing. Do other parts of the world have this requirement as well?
  16. there is a LIVE report from Joy further down the threads for NCL. check it out
  17. I am hearing that about a lot of cruiselines more and more. Sounds like quite an ordeal getting to NYC dealing with trains and subways. Also surprised that boarding in Queens was a bit rough for you. I mean RCI is easy. Oh and if that negative lady bothers you more, get another table. I had that happen to me about 8 years ago, and went to the main desk at the entrance to restaurant and got moved real fast. toodles enjoy your trip. I am unsure if I would want to do a cunard ship though.
  18. well if you have experience this for Cunard in 5 ports, then that tells me I should give Cunard a pass. I mean Cunard is part of Carnival Corp, and boarding ships are easy for CCL, HAL, and Princess.
  19. I saw that and it sounds like it would be cool to see. I hear they are going to have an area tributing the older fantasy / ectasy class ships that are disappearing. I also think anything that is not working well on M Gras might be changed on Celebration if need be.
  20. I have said to anyone who will listen that NCL Breakaway and above class have the best Thermal SPA and it is because of the Thalasso pool. then the next thing NCL does best is their solo rooms with interior hallways and very quiet. I once did the Carnival Vista and their spa area is a bit of a joke compared to NCL. Sure wish Celebrity would do a better job on thermal area
  21. yes, I think perhaps during most of August they will resolve issues with the engine since right now it is only July 2nd. For me I want to make sure I get to Ketchikan and Sitka. I have seen the glaciers 3-4 times but I also realize other folks might not have seen them yet.
  22. sorry but I stand by my original thought, if I taking the Summit or Adventure, I do not want to have to park in the open air I want the garage. But nope if is only for the Oasis class ships and I do not think that is fair. Another garage would be great and ships can come and go each day if they choose. A lot of traffic would be great for Canada, and over to Greenland and Iceland as well. Cape Liberty needs to be utilized more during May - Oct and do more northern routes.
  23. yes she is swapping out with ADV in Galveston. Infact 2023 will be interesting in that a vision class ship is going to Alaska.
  24. okay thanks I guess it is just like the ship app in that you can do stuff on either phone or computer. I guess that the receipt on the phone is stored like a photo or whatever comes in the text. If it comes in an email, I for security reasons in case phone is stolen or lost, do not use my email.
