  1. Sarah - thanks from me too. Enjoyed sailing along with you. Purplesea - looking forward to hearing how you get on on Britannia. I am on the cruise after you going to the Canaries. I’ve been on her before but in 2018 in the Caribbean, so different times.
  2. The local surgery here does not have receptionists - on calling one is directed to a “care navigator”. 🤔.
  3. You are right - they were pretty rubbish. I was really forced to use them because they were winding up my late husband’s estate. The whole thing was quite complicated and ended very badly!
  4. I moved here 7 years ago and found selling is not as easy as it used to be up here because the missives aren’t signed nearly so early now - I had to agree to a large reduction in price only a week before moving date in order to get the buyer to hand over the money on the agreed date. I hadn’t actually realised until then that the missives hadn’t been signed which is just as well because my stress levels were already very high! Hope you get things resolved Michelle and can go ahead with your new house which I know you had lots of plans for.
  5. I so hope the weather is kind to you in Scotland - the forecast doesn’t look too bad (might even get to over 20 degrees). If not, there’s lots of whisky in that area to warm you up!
  6. Lovely photos - I could never be bored hearing about a cruise!
  7. Indeed - life is very pleasant up here for tee total students who use public transport! It also helps if they are allergic to sunshine😎
  8. Thanks from me too Sarah. I love Madeira - can never go there too often (next time in September on Britannia). Did you see the interesting street with the painted doors? April - Lidl’s Pastel de Nata are quite tasty too!
  9. I got through this morning within 5 minutes - started dialling the number at 8.25!
  10. I have just been on the phone to them (I know a miracle) to be told their system is down!
  11. Having just battled my way home from Glasgow city centre (chaotic) I wish I could share your enthusiasm for the Cycling Championships! I do, however, like the sound of your girlie feast this afternoon, particularly as I’m sure it will be washed down with a nice glass or two of wine.
  12. I agree - small ships, great food, all inclusive drinks and lovely staff. They do sometimes have some good offers on (even for solos) although I know lots of you on here don’t like to fly.
  13. HL tell P and O and then you get a new booking confirmation showing the obc.
  14. I have my shares with HL and I message them with the cruise date and reference number and they do it for me.
  15. Hi - I agree with everything you say re solo meet ups and dining. I have only sailed solo with P and O solo on Azura a couple of times in the last two years and found just turning up for dinner and asking to share a table was fine and got in right away. It’s quite nice to be able to talk to couples as well as solos although like you some nights I met up with other singles and shared with them. So Sam enjoy yourself - it is by far the easiest way to holiday on your own and you will be back for more!
  16. Hopefully you are not booked for Rhodes anytime soon! 🤞
  17. I’ve had a look at this cruise too. Could any of you who have done a Carribean transatlantic verify that the sea days from Tenerife to the Carribean and on the way back are pretty good weather for being on deck.
