  1. What about Constellation?
  2. For historical reasons I think Cunard may have predated them all. I am not sure if they do this on the high end cruise lines.
  3. It doesn't matter if you have a beverage package or not. If you hand them the bottle they will hold it for you until the end of the cruise. If it is in something, eg a backpack, that goes through the scanner they might or they might not. It is impossible to predict.
  4. Usually the AI is better however you should be aware that sometimes, but not always they give up to 50% off the packages. Also, at least a year ago, unlike some other cruise lines if you purchase a drink above what the package pays for you only pay the difference plus gratuity on the difference plus tax on the difference (if applicable). Therefore upgrading from Classic to Premium may not be worthwhile unless you consistently purchase a significant number of drinks well above the covered price.
  5. I have seen this before. Nothing new. You might also want to clear all the cookies on your browser in addition to what SerraG says. If doesn't ever clear up you might have to call
  6. As I said before there is no formal afternoon tea like the do on Cunard, Princess and if I remember correctly Oceania. Yea and scones in the Oceanview Cafe doesn’t count. The closest you will get to that on Celebrity is Al Baccio. There is a cost for the tea (not the pastries) if you don’t have one of the drink packages, it is a higher quality tea then at the MDR or buffet. At least on the Constellation there were outdoor movies at various times of the day which we liked if the weather was good. At least on the cruise we were on they constantly juggled the schedule for the movies so you should update the app daily to see if the movie changes. I have sailed Princess quite a while ago and from what I remember they are similar. Although I get the impression that Celebrity is slightly less formal. Fyi, DO Not prejudge the cruise by the customer service pre-cruise or the the quality of IT, just keep checking the website to make sure there aren’t mysterious balance due amounts for your cruise.
  7. I also just noticed that the additional cost of Move-Up was included as part of CruiseCare. Strange way they do this. Thank you jelayne for your assistance.
  8. I just won a Move-Up and went to print new luggage tags and they have not changed and the cruise documents haven't changed either. Boarding pass was updated to new cabin. Will the luggage tags be changed soon or do I need to do something?
  9. I thought I would give it a try and bid on an Aqua cabin for an upcoming cruise in January. Probably bid too much but thought I would try it at least once. Even with the bad locations the Aqua cabins have on Constellation. We have sailed on Summit and Constellation before in various cabins below Aqua. Just notified that I won an upgrade. A couple of questions. I previously made reservations in the MDR for dinner. They are still showing. Will they go away or do I need to do something? I assume I just show up for Blu, no reservations required or permitted? I assume as part of Aqua we have access to Persian Gardens. Is there anything I need to know about that? Anything else I should know about sailing in Aqua? Are there little things that come with Aqua that you don’t get with an Ocean View cabin?
  10. Celebrity doesn’t do afternoon tea. That is one thing I really miss from other cruise lines. As was said enforcement of boarding times is hit or miss. I have not sailed Concierge however I think you might get a departure day lunch. I think Celebrity is OK however this is a trying time for mass market cruise lines and they are trying various things to get costs down. Some of the things they are doing may not impact you however you never know. I happen to care about coffee and have good experience with the espresso drinks at Al Baccio my wife likes the Chai Latte. I think it is worth the extra money. I personally detest the regular coffee they served last year in the MDR and buffet. So much so that I am bringing my own ground coffee aboard for my upcoming cruise.
  11. I believe that Celebrity and Royal share the same computer systems. Both Celebrity and Royal are famous for having screw-ups in the IT systems. It seems to me that at least once a month there will s a new issue with the systems. Also, if you call some percentage of the agents are excellent and some percentage are absolutely terrible. I have had an experience where the overall price on the website was lower then what the agent was quoting (so I booked that cruise on the website) and I have had experiences where the agents were quoting lower prices. You never know.
  12. However, expect that many people will not dress up.
  13. Depends on the port. In Tampa they would not allow us to drop off luggage before 11am. Couldn’t even get close to terminal. Ask in the Florida departures forum.
  14. I don’t think they would stop anyone wearing nice shorts and a tshirt.
  15. I assume that when you say snacks you mean things such as processed nuts or chips or chocolate in factory sealed bags, which I have never been stopped bringing aboard. I once tried to bring a lemon onboard and that was confiscated. Non-alcoholic beverages are supposed to be in the luggage you carry on-board and NOT supposed to be in checked luggage. I think there might be size and weight limits for carry-ons since they go through the security X-ray scanners. You didn't ask however if departing from a US port (I don't know the rules for other countries) each adult can bring a bottle of wine (750ml) for consumption in their cabin, various people talk about pouring a glass of wine and carrying it around the ship with them however I think that is technically against the rules unless you pay a corkage fee.
  16. There is a reasonable chance that a specific cabin in the category won't become available between now and the time you sail. Also, there is a chance you won't get assigned a specific cabin until shortly before sailing. To increase your odds check the Celebrity website for your sailing at least twice a day.
  17. Our ship was also delayed due to fog. You can book an early flight, just make sure you have a backup plan in case the ship is delayed several hours.
  18. Have you thought about trying a same day change or standby? Some airlines let you do standby for free.
  19. Are there room move limits? For example if you are inside or OV the highest you can go is Aqua?
  20. In the US there are requirements. Fyi, there is language in United Airlines contract that state that if you are significantly delayed you get 4 times your fare up to $1550.
  21. It isn’t quite the same as an airline. Usually with an airline there are other flights you can take and with an airline they are required to pay up to 4 times the fare if you are very late arriving. With cruises you are probably going to miss your whole vacation and if you’ have airfare and hotels booked for pre cruise and post cruise you may loose all that money. Also, on cruises they have already collected all the money for the rooms they oversell so they collect twice.
  22. What happens to them if their cabins are used for passengers?
  23. That doesn't work for people who had to fly and there are no other ships in port to switch to.
  24. Is Celebrity starting to overbook like the airlines used to? I ask because I have a cruise about 20 days out and the only ocean view cabins they have available are guaranteed. If they are oversold does anyone know how they determine who sails and who is left at the dock?
