  1. I have never had issues with privacy. Until my first cruise on Princess where they had our names on paper tags outside the door. No one needs to know there is a single woman or 2 women in the room for safety reasons. Instead of Ms. Susan Jones why can't it read S. Jones? I would feel a lot more comfortable. For some reason this really bothers me yet I have no other privacy concerns in daily life. After our first cruise my mother pulled the paper nametag out and gave it to me for a souvenir since I complained about it so much!
  2. I was in a suite prior to covid and bought it because we wanted to get in our cabin early to drop bags. Early access wasn't a benefit of having a suite. (after paying all that money for the suite!)
  3. Went on the Radiance last week. At embarkation lunch I'm in the buffet with my big plate ready for the Funfetti cheesecake and.....nothing. They didn't have it. The lady behind the cake counter didn't say why. I was heartbroken. Had it for the first time ever in Oct and couldn't wait to have it again.
  4. Worked perfectly on the Sunshine in Oct. I was very impressed. On the Radiance last week, not so much. The first night for dinner the gray button to reserve wasn't highlighted. Finally gave up and just went to the dining room. Everyone was having issues. Someone from Carnival said the system was down. Next morning everything was back to normal for the rest of the cruise. I guess they just get glitches sometimes. But when it works-it's fantastic!
  5. I was skeptical when I first read this because I assumed nothing would be enforced. I was wrong. I just got off Radiance last Friday. One day while out by the pool DJ Scratchy (love the name!) was DJ'ing and everyone was dancing. Right in the middle of the song he turns off the music and looks to his right and says "someone over there is smoking. I can smell it. Security will be called. There is a $500 fine". Then he turned the music back up. I was shocked. Didn't hear or see anything else so I guess the person stopped. Or left.
  6. Could you have your bag redirected to your next destination instead of it going to your home?
  7. I just got on the Radiance on Monday and they did not have the funfetti cheesecake the first day in the buffet. I don't know why but the lady just said they didn't have it. Very disappointed!
  8. I'm a bread girl and I love english muffins in the dining room for breakfast. They are toasted to perfection (same on Princess). Never over or under done. I want their toaster!! I also love the hashbrowns, again perfectly brown and hot. I discovered the Bitter n Blanc on my last cruise and that's now my favorite dessert. (the melting chocolate cake comes veeeery close) I also discovered the funfetti cheesecake and now I will run someone over in the buffet to get it, ha ha ha!
  9. I'm a good eater but even with smaller portions last month on the Sunshine I had a hard time getting through my meal of one appetizer, one entree, and one dessert. (or it could have been all the bread along with it!) I appreciate the smaller portion sizes. Definitely don't need a second or third entree.
  10. Aw, he's so cute! I love the white on his paws!
  11. I'm confused. You open your door and win a prize? It's just random?
  12. I asked because I called Carnival and they told me no. I figured since it was a refurbished ship they would have them.
  13. We are in a balcony cabin on Radiance. Do they have the mini fridges?
  14. Thank you so much, you made my day! My picture is of my cat Emmett. He is 18 and a half years old and still acts like a kitten running around the house. He doesn't like when I go on cruises.
  15. They serve a nice Indian vegetarian meal in the dining room every single night.
  16. I don't know the answer to your question but that is how I feel about the chocolate chip cookies on Princess. I take and eat way too many!
  17. I cruise both lines, but my preferred is Princess. I am in my 50's and not a wild partier. I feel Princess is classy and refined. My last 3 cruises have been on Carnival for various reasons. Before the cruise I always tell myself to lower my expectations because it's not Princess. Then I go on the cruise and have a great time. On Carnival I feel like I'm in my 20's again and do things I don't normally do on Princess. One thing I love is when a crowd is gathered in the atrium and everyone is belting out 80's songs. (or some other genre) So after my last Carnival cruise I said to myself, "I don't have to lower my expectations. Carnival isn't inferior to Princess, it's just different". And I enjoy both types of cruises.
  18. Are they already made up or do you use the paper checklist to choose which ingredients you want?
  19. I will be on the Radiance in 2 weeks and I see they have a Cucina del Capitano. Do they also offer the free lunch like they do on other ships?
  20. Every drink I buy on a Carnival ship they make me sign a charge slip. If it's not my signature, I'm not paying for it! Why does guest services try to fight it? Can't they look up the charge slip?
  21. The Hub app works great for reservations! Very easy to use and much better than standing around at the entrance to the dining room. Use it for breakfast there too. Our waits were always 10 minutes or less except for formal night that was 10-20 minutes. And I believe our table was ready at exactly the 20 minute mark. It will tell you your table number and which deck to go to. (the Sunshine used decks 3 and 4)
  22. I just use a tap light that has batteries in it. Just press it on when you go to bed at night and it stays on until you turn it off.
