  1. My daughter is an OR nurse and her husband an anesthesiologist. Gives me pause about what credentials the ships doc has and what experience....I don't know any doctors based on my DD that would take that job, wonder just how lucrative it is...or not. Sounds like a legal matter if it can be proven that RCI was at fault. Or maybe an attorney could get all expenses dropped. Interesting...hope you let us know what happens
  2. I'm perfectly relaxed........BTW I was actually replying to the op, not you. . But not worth the argument. Enjoy!
  3. That's really silly, can't someone be responsible and take things in when they leave the cabin, I think that's perfectly reasonable. What has a potty break got to do with it. You're still IN the cabin. I have left swim suits to dry while in the room, that's why we have alligator clips for towels clipped to the chairs. And I certainly wouldn't leave them while I was away. Generally at night so they'll be ready for the next day. I've never left anything "unattended".on my balcony. We've hung flamingo lights inside along the balcony door. And I've had Christmas clings on the inside of the door to the balcony.
  4. That's not the rule that was posted...it had the caveat, "unattended" to it. 2. “Guests may not leave items unattended on balconies, as the wind may cause items to fall overboard.”
  5. I made this banner during the Basketball playoffs for Allure back in 2013, but we taped it to the glass during sailaway, nothing on our balcony. We used to see various flags back in the day also taped to the balcony glass, haven't seen it lately though.
  6. But my posted total includes insurance and gratuities,.,...$198 plus $224 respectively......$422.00.
  7. And that is just patently untrue....Mmmmmm? I wonder if you ARE one? Making blanket statements is not wise. The figures I just posted should prove that. Go ahead, give me a quote for that cabin today..............
  8. Not missing at all...have tried many "big" agencies. They could not save us much if any and over the years have rescinded Venue dining ticket perks and paid Grats, etc. Even bottles of wine are poor. More power to you if you found cheaper rates than the sale pricing from RCI directly, we have not. I am pricing cruises almost every day, from all types of sources and have hardly ever found cheaper pricing. I understand how very busy people prefer to rely on agencies, but I am not one. I have found the best way to save money on booking is to book early. Our cruise on Icon cost us exactly $2822.76 total with an insurance policy and grats for an accessible interior. You will not find a better price on it, ANYWHERE. I forgot to mention we had $100 obc and with our RCI credit card deal we applied another $300 so we were able to book Empire Supper Club. 9. We never have...just my experience. BTW, I've been checking for almost 2 years on our Icon booking, nobody beats my booking for total cost from Oct. 2022
  10. We got our choice of meats, I got steak and shrimp...mmmm The cover charge...covered it! Oh! And there was chicken in my fried rice.
  11. Musicians in the band do lots of other gigs onboard. We met some who played in Bolero's every few nights on Odyssee. Though we do not cruise for the music nor the orchestra, we go to all of their venues and enjoy them. This would be a non issue for us and I'm sure we'll enjoy Icon, can't wait to get on her.
  12. After using an independent agent for the first part of our cruising lives, and seeing that the base fares were always the same as that quoted on RCCL's online site, I decided to do my own booking through the call center of RCCL, or RCI or whatever you want to call it. The only difference used to be the perks that the independent could offer, which I could get simply by booking myself and then transferring it. But in recent years, as with the lines themselves, the perks have almost disappeared. That's why it's not worth it to me. Others will say that is not true, but I still try to get quotes from the travel agencies and I don't see it. However, for Icon, that may not hold. I have read here that people have gotten lower base fares with travel agencies...so I'd get quotes from both If I were you. I am my own agent as far as I am concerned. I know how to do it now after 32 cruises, have my own internal contacts and like having control over my booking. I watch for price reductions and get them if they're offered, but I have the time to monitor them. Everybody should do what feels right, that's the bottom line.
  13. I'm perfectly satisfied with the food and it's a damn sight better than anything we got on Carnival Jubilee 2 months ago.
  14. People do this regularly. Buying drinks for her dad isn't an option. If caught they charge all drinks at full price AND cancel the deluxe package with no refund. Getting "caught" doing what exactly. They can do this with no impunity at all. It not the business of the ship to say who sleeps where. The men in one room with the drink package is perfectly "legal". OK I re-read your post and I get that you are referring to giving someone drinks on the pkg. But their arrangement is very good strategy.
  15. But I've read countless times here that a request will get you a lounger....
  16. I fail to see how a chair or table is less dangerous than a lounger...duh. What is the rationale there?
  17. We will take that anyday and twice on Sunday, although we love the Robert Mondavi Rum Barrel Merlot better.
  18. We hotspot our iphones all the time here at home to watch You Tube videos...thx so much i'll pass all this on to my tech. 😉
  19. The last Celebrity we were not Diamond +. Any drinks in Captain's Club lounge or just what is the matching drink situation...we have 2 Ascent cruises coming up. I just read up on all the perks, thanks anyway.
  20. We had 6 tornados last Saturday morning here in Northern Arkansas, very unusual and flat line winds which knocked down weaker trees. We have 30 trees down on our property at the top of a mountain, some as big as 2 feet in diameter and 60-80 ft tall...WHAT IS GOING ON!
  21. Yes, they offer a wheel chair and will push her onboard and assuming the walker folds up you can carry it until you board. You don't need to tell them about a walker. They are only concerned about scooters and wheelchairs and whether they fit through the doors. You will need to get in touch with the special needs department to request this service.
  22. Well some have told me you just have to look at spending your limit as purchasing another cruise...nothing is really free except if you win an amount like you did or if you end up with $90 more than you came with, but that doesn't get you free cruises, you have to count all the $$ you put in. And we only cruise 2 times a year and I "may" elect to put $100 or more into a bandit fully realizing I will most likely lose it all, so how can I accumulate enough points? For us it may not be worth it except for the fun. It was really fun! So just count it as entertainment right. We'd have to invest a lot more money and cruise more to really get enough for the offers, right?
  23. But how much money have you gambled away to get those cruises???
