  1. That's a really tough one, I would contact NCL guest services by email and get an answer, in writing. They say it's needed but it's much easier for them to just say 6 months for everyone, regardless of your nationality and the places you will be visiting. Hard to say if that's a hard and fast rule. One problem is that the employees at the port do not work for NCL and their interpretation of the rules can vary. And that's assuming you get beyond the on-line check-in - where you have to put in your documents expiration dates. At that point you can't get a refund if they deny your documentation. Good luck.
  2. There aren't any restrictions on using FCC from a price drop that would keep you from using it as payment for an existing cruise. You don't get it until after your cruise and you have to apply it to a cruise with a year. However, if you get FCC in November 2023 it has to be USED before November 2024 so no, you wouldn't be able to use it for a cruise in July 2025. And I don't think they will extend FCC from a price drop, but
  3. First of all, if the price goes down, there is no need to rebook, they can simply adjust the price for the existing reservation. While technically it is a rebook to their system, your booking date and reservation # remains the same but the terms (promos) will change. And you are usually grandfathered in on price increases for DSC and airfare. In that same vein, if you should decide to take a different cruise, it is possible to change your dates & destination, keeping both the booking date & reservation #, plus any payments. Having said that, NCL systems do weird things, so no guarantees. For example, they will remove a 2nd CruiseNext if there isn't a double-up promo at the time. Personally, I would send an inquiry to customer relations and ask how it works - then you have an answer from someone who should know the correct answer, plus you would have it in writing.
  4. It's in the T&Cs. And they start booking 75 days in advance, after the window for choosing a deviation closes. https://www.ncl.com/about/terms-and-conditions/promotions
  5. My cruise ends in Quebec. If I take the post-cruise tour to Montreal I'll still get home faster than if I left from Quebec. There may be flights but not too many meet the NCL criteria, for me anyway (Oregon). But I'm still waiting for my flight info and my cruise is before yours - I've not gotten any notification, other than be patient, info coming. But I did book the Montreal excursion so they know I'm expecting to leave from there.
  6. Not only possible, it's very probable, due to lack of flights to Quebec. Spelled out in the T&Cs for the promo. They will provide an airport to port transfer on the day of your cruise. You are on your own if you go earlier.
  7. No, actually quite good, all things considered. My regional airport in Oregon to Denver to Toronto to Rome. Although I'd been talking about the need for 3 legs, I guess I should have specified that was the first leg.
  8. My first flight is often a short flight to Seattle or SFO from Oregon. I'm actually driving to Seattle then flying to Anchorage for my next cruise because it's actually simpler - but not booked through NCL. NCL also flew me from Toronto to Rome, but a layover in Denver (which was delayed and I barely made my flight to Rome). But there were a number of people from Toronto on the cruise that were complaining bitterly about their terrible flights because they knew that there were direct flights - and they weren't on them!
  9. As far as I know "they" can't add latitudes promos - it's system generated, a rep has no control over the codes. So if your cruise was eligible for extra points when you upgraded, they would have been added. The current promo is just for a select few cruises.
  10. In my experience, smaller airports often have an advantage, especially for international. NCL protocol is 1 layover max for domestic flights, 2 for international. So if it takes 2 flights to get to an appropriate hub, the overseas flight is nonstop. No foreign layovers that others may get - and I'd rather not have to deal with any potential delays/cancelled flights while in a foreign country if at all possible. But I do check prices/flight schedules at other airports before choosing my gateway.
  11. Your TA owns your reservation, they would need to contact NCL.
  12. It's not a myth but not every "price drop" qualifies. The price of an equivalent cabin must be lower and if you chose additional perks (such as BOGO airfare) that discount will be factored in.
  13. You can book a hotel through NCL (space permitting), up to 3 days in advance. I believe they do provide airport-hotel-port transfers as part of the package. But you pay a premium, usually cheaper to do it on your own. And they charge per person, not per room. In most ports, you can also book the airport-port transfer if you want to go back to the airport and pick up the shuttle, but you would have to add that back on your reservation (they usually take off the transfer if you request a deviation). They will keep the port-airport transfer on your reservation assuming you don't request a deviation at the end of your cruise. Whatever you choose to do, make sure that your confirmation reflects the changes. A deviation/hotel will show at the top of the statement after the guest name, including the # of nights. There will be a $25 air/deviation credit line-item, as well as the transfer. If those aren't there, they don't exist...as people have found out!
  14. Not silly, people get it wrong all the time. A 2 day deviation means you arrive at your destination 2 days prior to the cruise. 1 day means the day before, no deviation means the day of the cruise. When you leave home depends on your location.
  15. It's frequently a no if you use the BOGO airfare, as the price reduction also reflects the fact that they aren't subsidizing the air. But they say they do run a check...YMMV. The 75 day comment is interesting tho, BOGO used to be good for 90 days, then recently went to 110. On the other hand, since you can request deviations up to 75 days, I've always thought other changes should also be allowed. "Please note, on the date of your request: 07/31/23, the AIRPROM3 promotion was no longer available, so your reservation did not qualify for the price drop within penalty FCC. Please remember, the air promotion is CLOSED @ 75 days prior to the cruise. Your request was submitted 47 days prior to the cruise. Per terms and conditions: The voyage fare for all guests on the reservation will be used to determine the total value of the price drop, if applicable. Reservations with NCL AIR will be compared to air pricing on day of the price drop request (if available). If not available Air pricing will be compared with non promotional rate at time of booking. Reservations, where the promotions differ from what was originally booked to what is available at the time of price drop, are not eligible for consideration. Your air priced higher without the promotion."
  16. No, that is not true. You should get an answer within a few days. I put in a request on 7/31, got my answer (sadly a no) on 8/2. However, the fcc will not be available to use until after completing the cruise.
  17. If you want to restrict responses to people on your specific sail date, perhaps posting on the roll call for that trip would be a better option. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2862450-ncl-jewel-july-31-2023-seward-ak-to-vancouver-bc
  18. If NCL cancels an excursion, they will give you a refund. Nor have I seen anywhere that future excursions have been cancelled.
  19. Not understanding. Sail away does NOT include free at sea perks, only the excursion credit. Assuming you meant GTY - which is not the same as sail away. As to sail away, GTY or a bid for OV - you could luck out and get a nice picture window or you could get a porthole, all the way forward on deck 4. Just noticed you are from the UK - maybe sail away is different?
  20. In a perfect world, personal responsibility would mean that someone who is ill would self-isolate, wear a mask to mitigate spread and so forth. Self-protection only goes so far if "typhoid Mary" is onboard.
  21. Bingo! If you are sick, isolate yourself. Yes, you paid for your cruise/excursion and don't want to lose out -but so did everyone else that you may infect.
  22. I don't believe I've ever seen any priority tendering to go back to the ship, other than possibly something for Haven guests.
  23. Norway has waterfalls, the scenery in Antartica is Alaska on steroids, more or less. And they have PENGUINS!!! Sadly, we didn't make it to Stanley because of weather. But we did come upon a fin whale feeding area - ship was basically surrounded. Now fin whales don't do the tail flips like the humpbacks do but it was still quite impressive.
  24. The risk would be in losing the current reservation, not the certificate(s) in the original scenario. In the 2nd scenario (using 2 CNs to book now), if you make a change to a reservation and the double-up promo is no longer available when you make a change, they could remove it from the reservation but it would go back into your account.
  25. I understand what you are wanting to do - the issue would be whether or not you could make the switch before their system caught the error and cancelled everything - or cancelled because there wasn't a deposit in place for a short period. Be aware that if you apply 2 CN's now and then reprice at a later date, they may remove the 2nd CN if that promo is no longer valid.
