  1. The bean counters have deemed a the IT department a low priority for funding.
  2. Was also going to post this. Please be careful @bmwix So sad, Ecuadorians are such lovely people.
  3. There is usually a briefing the night before to explain the following days excursions. You will be assigned a color group for excursion departures. Depending on the stop there may be different levels of hikes or alternative activities that the expedition team has come up with. Sometimes folks will be asked to sign up after the briefing. I've attached a pic of a briefing slide. Fyi, it's from Seabourn Venture, but it will be the same on Silversea. Although the info is usually available printed and on the app, I like having it quickly available on my phone. Primarily because I can't remember what they just told me.😃. You will have a fabulous trip!
  4. Re: violation. You caught me before my edit. Just having a bit of fun!
  5. I once asked her if she would consider posting her schedule so we could book those cruises.😁
  6. Hmmmm, lots of talk about jackets and ties for men. BUT, where's the outrage about ladies can choose an evening gown or cocktail dress. Rather 1950's I should think, ladies must not wear pants. If men are still required to wear a jacket, shouldn't women be required to wear a gown or dress? Me - lobs grenade and runs. 😂
  7. Hear hear! Having you set the tone with kindness and the velvet hammer helps.😃
  8. She can make a turkey wrap taste like it came out of a 5* kitchen.
  9. Dry bags come in all shapes, sizes and price points. Nice to have on wet ship to shore zodiac rides. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=dry+bag&crid=2TB2VULIRGIUU&sprefix=dry+bag+%2Caps%2C184&ref=nb_sb_noss_2
  10. Looking g forward to hearing about your trip. Fair winds!
  11. Submitted for your approval: "The M" Fresh Muddled Raspberries Letherbee Gin Lemon juice Simple syrup Splash of Contreau
  12. More mushrooms and pastry? I'll take two.
  13. I asked The Google Machine about Thai vs. Indonesian food. Here's what I got. Very interesting. With approximately 6,000 populated islands and more than 300 ethnic groups, the food in Indonesia is extremely diverse, based on religion, region, culture and season. There is an infinite number of versions of home cooked indigenous dishes, with ethnic contributions of Chinese, Malay, Indian, Dutch, Portuguese, Arab, Muslim and Hindu etc. Popular is Javanese, Sumatran, Balinese. Compared to Thai, Indonesian cuisine is more complex, has stronger flavors, earthy, more fried, braised, heavy, spicy and served often at room temperature. Prominent ingredients are a large variety of herbs, use of similar local ingredients like citrus, coconut, palm sugar fermented fish/shrimp paste and sweet soy sauce. On our next trip I plan to ask the restaurant Maitre'd whose cooking and their nationality. Then ask for their native speciality.
  14. Excellent query. I agree, a good burger is a thing of beauty. I'd go straight to the restaurant maitre'd and ask what the possibilities might be. Keep us posted.
  15. Copenhagen can be a zoo. Of course you could probably say that about any airport these days. It's good that you have multiple flights after yours. We got stymied there by a line of 200+ people going through immigration. Chaos. After 45 minutes and still 75 people back, they called our flight and we were able to jump to the head of the line and catch our flight. The folks who were around the corner in line probably didn't hear the call. I'm still with @FlyerTalker. Give me a guaranteed seat on the safer flight.
  16. You also make a good point! Let us not forget the doctor on board that makes house calls. 😁
  17. If I may interject something to consider for future bookings - Although airlines have different rules for minimum connection times we have our own. Depending on the airport, time of day, history of on time departure, and number of similar flights after: For domestic, we like at least an hour, 2 is better. International, at least 2 hours, 3 is better. It's not worth the stress and missed connections.
  18. If you catch Covid at the grocery store you are not quarantined to your bedroom by local officials with a little table outside your door for meals. 🤣
  19. SLSD - we have returned to Norway, Iceland and Greenland numerous times. Each time has been different and wonderful. What a wonderful place to spend time in the summer! Enjoy! Now if we can only get this darn high pressure system to dissipate.
