  1. A common problem: if I'm right then everyone else is wrong. I think there is a medical term for the condition. Thank you so much for rattling the Princess cage, CineGraphic. I have no hope this will change anything, but at least someone there acknowledged you. I am very tired of the covid excuse. I was on a HAL cruise in the spring, and there were no problems to speak of. They delivered the cruise they promised. It can be done. My friends returning from Carnival tell me things are running pretty smoothly there, too. If Carnival Corp can do some things right, why can't they fix Princess?
  2. So getting someone else's pre-touched appetizer from another diner's table would be hunky dory with you?
  3. I don't think they award degrees in marketing in junior high school. 😜 This "executive" is possibly a dweller under a bridge (the "T" word is forbidden, I hear.) Clue #1: A cruise marketing executive would not call the ship a "boat." Clue #2: The cruise line doesn't want my "old money." The cruise lines want all the money, every cent in circulation. 🙂
  4. Ah... just like TD in the good old days...
  5. Here's moi saying kind words to FrugalVoyager after reading posts #96 and #98.
  6. It used to be you could swap alcohol for alcohol and non for non. (There was a coffee card deal, too, but I forget the details.) We would keep the little bottles and swap the beers for more little bottles. (They are good have at home in your private bar.) The rest got swapped for water. I don't know what the current rules are.
  7. Frugal Voyager, aren't you the one who was recently complaining that cruises to Hawaii are too expensive and the cruise lines should lower the prices just for you? I'm sorry your income as Young Marketing Executive isn't sufficient to cover the cost of a two-week cruise on a main-stream line. It may be time for the old folks to walk the plank in your fantastical universe, but maybe the cruise lines would like them to keep paying for those Hawaii cruises that they can obviously afford. Funny thing about us old-timers: we have money and we spend it. See posts #96 and #98 in the "difference between carnival and princess" thread posted by seagoer1973 on Sept 29, 2022 in this Princess forum.
  8. Wouldn't it be easier just to take all us old people out to sea and throw us overboard? What cheek.
  9. Of course, covid isn't the only issue. Washing stations were intended to prevent norovirus, etc., along with the hand sanitizers. Funny we haven't heard anything about noro lately.
  10. Elite benefits include upgraded toiletries, but I wasn't impressed by the last little gold bag I got. I miss the eucalyptus scent toiletries of yore. DH always asks fir bar soap, and so far, so good.
  11. Are they still doing Princess choir? I think the masks were a problem. Do they still do "Sweet Caroline" ad nauseum?
  12. As loyalty benefits disappear or become less important, the Captain's Circle host will be phased out and free up space for more jewelry stores 😁
  13. I think it's complimentary at breakfast everywhere on the ship.
  14. This is the truth. My adult children (the desired demographic) and their children have cruise Princess many times. Why? They cruised with us. When we are not part of the equation, they choose Carnival. Maybe it's a stretch to say the youngsters won't cruise Princess without the old folks, but we are far from the only multi-generation groups sailing. Is Princess saying, "Come on, youngsters, but leave those old people at home"?
  15. I agree. I downloaded on another line, no problem. I guess the idea is to load up the Kindle before boarding.
  16. DH will be happy to hear about the orange juice. We are doing CC for the first time next month, hoping to avoid the long lines and confusion at the MDR. We almost always book mini suites, so this seemed like a logical thing to do (especially since it's financed by FCC.) 🙂
  17. Art auctions? Trivia? Bingo?
  18. I recall only a couple of times they had flounder on the MDR menu. There is usually some kind of fish, however. They will bring you something not on the menu (within reason.)
  19. I take your point, but the Princess people producing this show are trying to attract NEW and young cruisers. That's why they are using young performers. The show is not a good idea, IMO, but it's what Princess is doing.
  20. You might be surprised to learn that there are still people who don't use smart phones. Maybe you should get out more. 😉
  21. Or Guy's Burgers. Oh wait, that's my first stop on Carnival! 😉 I don't think the square footage in the Internet Cafe is enough for much more than what's there now.
  22. I've done both, but the Manhattan one was so much better. It was right there in NYC, walking distance to everything. I think there was some problem at Brooklyn which is why we did the other one.
