  1. For land tour we booked for South America, we didn’t know the hotel until we stepped foot in the lobby. We were met at the airport by a princess rep and taken in a mini van to the hotel. We were just starting to panic, when we spotted the princess sign.
  2. We had a coach, “Travel time is approximately 3 1/2 hours (132 miles).” distance would obviously be the same Rome2Rio - gives the train time from Talkeetna to Anchorage as 3hrs 15 mins for 113 miles. Whittier is a little further.
  3. Most likely a repeat. We just did 6 cruises b2b, and became so expert at trivia after the first repeats, that we stopped going.
  4. Saw this, and it immediately made me think of you and your challenges.
  5. 18 hours in, all caught up with 7 pages, followed 168! Have a great cruise, looking forward to “sailing” with you.
  6. So nice to look back and think of the highlights, January - The pristine beauty of Antarctica, an amazing start to the year April - “cruising” the Leeds/Liverpool Canal (does this count!) June - Norway, in particular the Olden Skylift. The top was covered in cloud, but as the Skylift broke through the clouds at the top, the views of the snowy peaks in bright sunshine with blue skies were just WOW! great day, walking the trails at the top with a friend we made on the cruise. The clouds cleared and we had magnificent views. July - Skagen, Denmark. Weather not so good, but had a great long walk along the beach from Højen to Grenen and back to the ship. The rain poured down just as we left the beach, but we put on our waterproofs and carried on! September - Juneau, Alaska. Had a lovely walk up the Perseverance Trail. October - Papeete, Tahiti. Another great walk, this time out to the Flowerpot rock. Had the most amazing ice creams from the gas station on the way back! November - Brisbane, Australia. Private VIP tour of the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, excellent day, great fun.
  7. Silversea- round New Zealand in January 2026. https://www.silversea.com/destinations/australia-new-zealand-cruise/auckland-to-auckland-sn260113022.html
  8. From Cobh, take the train into Cork, the station is on the dock and trains are frequent (every 30 mins if I remember correctly)
  9. Cost of a window suite is great, full suite benefits, central location, double cruise points, breakfast in Sabatinis. Would book again anytime.
  10. Sirtomster has it right, also southbound you will go through the most scenic parts of the inside passage in daylight, northbound you leave Vancouver in the evening and the best bits are while you sleep!
  11. @glee87 we only saw a couple of kangaroos from a distance, but saw lots of dead kangaroos and one dead koala on the roadside, no live koalas, a very disappointing day. I do hope you have a better time and our experience was not typical.
  12. The cruise ship tour we took from Princess was very disappointing, totally rushed, only 10 minutes at the Admiral’s Arch and another 10 minutes at the remarkable rocks. We complained and had our money refunded. Would much rather have had a decent tour as we will not likely be going back there!
  13. Really easy to catch the train. You can see the station from the ship. Buy tickets at the ticket office or on the train using your credit card in the machine (that’s what we did). Trains were frequent, I think every 20 or 30 mins.
  14. We had an offer for our Queensland cruise. The day before it sailed, we were informed it the bid was unsuccessful!
  15. The fruit yoghurt in the MDR has been very thick. It isn’t described as greek yoghurt, but is certainly the same consistency. Currently on the Grand headed to Australia.
  16. We have just sailed through the other end of this storm. Swells in excess of 5 meters and gale force winds of 50 knots gusting to 60 knots. Trust in the Captain to keep you out of the worst of it
  17. We took a tour through the cruise line, but the company was North Star, very impressed, it was a great experience
  18. Currently sitting in the Princess Denali Lodge, we have an inside cabin on the ship and this is our room Lounge has dining table, sofa and chair, there is a king size bed in the bedroom.
  19. thanks for the description, we were considering this next month when we are in Ketchikan. Looking forward to hearing what else you got up to on your trip, we enjoyed walking with you in Norway, our likes seem very similar.
  20. @JG&Lcruisingnewbies sorry, just seen it is your first time with Princess. To find the web version, go to your booking on the Princess site. Look for the click on link, it will take you to the web version, which is very easy to use.
  21. @JG&Lcruisingnewbies Try looking at the web version. There was nothing after 6.40 available on the app for one of our cruises. When I looked on the web version, there was every time, every dining room and all either shared or private!!
  22. @YVRteacher do you use an app to create the lovely groups of photos? I am really enjoying seeing them, such a unique way to showcase them.
  23. @jcgeorge thanks for your insight. I hadn’t thought of sending to the hotel. We will be arriving a day early in port, so having the bags at the hotel will reassure me, rather than worrying until I see the bags arrive in my cabin!
