  1. I went through something similar just last week. Booking solo, saw the casino discount applied, put the cabin on hold and the confirmation premium didn't have the discount applied. I tried again, put another reservation on hold, same thing happened. Those holds were 24 hours and each showed a different free play amount for some reason. The next day I received an email from my PVP saying he found a lower fare (the casino discount) so he created a new reservation and put that on hold for 3 days (I like that about dealing with a PVP). Then shortly thereafter he called me, at which time I asked him about the higher free play amount on one of the holds and he moved it to the reservation he had made. This being my first casino booking I guess I just figured the casino discount can't be held online. I was able to complete the purchase online. If anyone is trying to book a casino discount, you can book through your PVP if you have one.
  2. Thank you for all the info. Travelling solo and won't have a phone that works in the UK. Is the area between the bus station and the Premier Inn safe for a solo female to walk with luggage in the middle of the day? I looked at Google street view and it looks like a nice enough area. Am I more likely to forget to look right before crossing the street than being the victim of a crime? Will have the hotel call a taxi to the port if there isn't one around. I'm sure lots of people will be headed my same direction.
  3. Currently planning to stay one night precruise at Premier Inn West Quay. Intending to take National Express from LHR. Is it fairly easy to find a taxi at the bus drop off if I don't want to walk to the hotel with luggage? Would a taxi driver scoff at the short trip? Are unlicensed taxis something common to look out for? Is it difficult to get a taxi from the hotel to the cruise terminal? Thank you.
  4. Does anyone have a copy of the paper you're given mid cruise where you select your desired disembarkation time? I'm wondering what the different times are for the airport transfers. If anyone has used the transfer to LHR recently what time did you disembark the ship and what time did you arrive at LHR? Did your bus stop at all terminals or did they separate people by terminal?
  5. Hello, A few questions, if I may: How was it communicated to passengers where and when testing would occur? Did Princess provide a printed copy of the test results or email? Did American require a printed copy? Were the results simply shown at check-in or did they have to be uploaded to American? Thank you!
  6. Thank you for posting the glacier picture. I didn't realize Hubbard Glacier had the same issues as some of the others as far as being blocked by ice. Hopefully you have better luck at Marjorie Glacier. I was there last September and we didn't get nearly as close as I had on a few previous sailing so I was disappointed for the first timers.
  7. Do you have any pics you can post? Curious what the view is like from 9 miles away!
  8. Steak tartar? Mexican night? What is this lounge all about? Is it like a cocktail party? I find I'm now Platinum after my last cruise.
  9. What would've happened if you hadn't given then the confirmation number? A free cruise on the next sailing? 🙂 Are you and your fiancé in separate rooms at the hotel? I should hope so... Is there anything physically preventing you from leaving the hotel?
  10. I hope the remaining passengers' experiences are greatly improved by having let's say 50-100 less passengers onboard (assuming higher than double occupancy) if it really was 21 reservations. It's ridiculous someone at NCL didn't call the impacted passengers instead of cancelling by email. 👎 NCL.
  11. On my last cruise I got severely ill for a day. There was no way I was going to risk a trip to the medical center for the very risk of what happened to the OP. I basically quarantined myself for a day. Self-diagnosed as seasickness. Happened once before in the same part of the ocean. I was afraid to even ask for seasickness meds. Just weighed the suffering with the risk. Not worth the risk.
  12. I'd guess you're more likely to pick something up in crowded dirty airports and airplanes (especially now that the mandates are lifted) and pass it to your steward than catching something from something your steward touched. But if you don't want service or very limited they might welcome the break. One less cabin to service. On my recent cruise I thought I didn't select evening turndown on the medallion app but my steward did it all the nights I didn't have the do not disturb on.
  13. If you have a balance of $25 or more and don't cash out by the final casino closing time, supposedly they'll mail you a check. Any amounts <$25 will be donated to charity. I was shocked when the cashier on Majestic told me that. $25 seems awfully high. And if you charge to your cabin and win, you have to cash out at the cashier, but if you want to apply your winnings back to your cabin charges, you have to take the cash to Guest Services. What a pain.
  14. Is your time in Victoria 730P-midnight like next couple of sailings? I would pass on the thought of whale watching. Sunset is @ 8:45PM. The one time I went whale watching at that port it was probably a 30 minute ride out to where the whales were. And I've never had a pleasant experience getting off the ship in Victoria on an evening stop when the crowd is all trying to rush off the ship at once. Sorry, no other suggestions.
  15. Animal cruelty. If I was a fish that was just hooked with a giant hook, I think I'd want to be put out of my misery.
  16. Was it confirmed to be Noro? Or was the ship just in rough waters and they put out the barf bags? I've seen that on NCL. I've been on maybe 15 cruises but only time I've gotten sick was on two different Princess cruises off the California coast, most recently last month. Felt like death for a day. A good, um, cleanse.
  17. I would rideshare from the airport and NCL transfer to the airport. At Sea-Tac, the transfers and rideshare pickups are basically in the same area of the parking garage. If using the transfer, you would tag your luggage and leave it at the baggage claim with the NCL rep. They transfer the luggage separately from the big bus you ride from the airport. Then you walk to the parking garage to the waiting area, check in, get a number, and wait. With rideshare you wouldn't have to wait for the bus. You could just be on your way with all your luggage. Of course, you then have to check it at the port, but that's not that bad. From the cruise port, you're contending with crowds all disembarking the ship at once. The NCL transfer is very easy. There is a line and someone to direct you to your bus,. Your luggage is loaded below. Busses fill up fast with so many people disembarking. No searching for your rideshare in the madness.
  18. No drink package for me. Even the one time I had it years ago when it was actually more free (no gratuities), I had maybe one drink a day and that was probably because I figured I might as well use it. NCL beverages prices are ridiculous compared to a recent Princess cruise, so I refuse to purchase any beverages on NCL.
  19. I don't think NCL is big on quality control. I love this $3000 airfare from PHX to Seattle. It's been like this for days:
  20. Back in 2019 I took a one night cruise on HAL from Seattle to Vancouver, where I got on a longer NCL cruise. HAL sails out of a different terminal than NCL in Seattle, but for that one-nighter, HAL was not offering baggage but they obviously had a large enough scanner as I was able to carry on my large suitcase. My point is it just could depend on the port. Have you considered taking two smaller suitcases instead?
