  1. I am convinced the machines are server linked and they can alter the odds. As when the casino was busy they were tight and when it was less busy people seemed to be getting more play and wins
  2. I was on this cruise too. Agree about the casino. Very few hand pays going on and the slots were bad. Thry did loosen them on the last night saw a few hand pays then but it was too late for me then.
  3. At the moment I would not recommend the train. There are currently frequent strikes that cause a mess. While they may be sorted by next year you can't guarantee it. They have been going on all year. National express is probably a safer option.
  4. You can have an amazing perfect day without spending a single dollar. There are upcharges but they are not something you need to have a fun day. Don't feel you have to spend money to have a great day. You don't
  5. They 100% do check, they send your passport number to the ESTA system and it will come back with a yes/no flag. If it flags no then you are not checking in, just because the airline does not specifically ask you for the ESTA does not mean they do not check. No passenger can get on a flight to the USA without either residency/ Citizenship, a visa or a valid ESTA, and its been like that since the system was introduced. I've seen numerous times at airport check in people with ESTA issues and trying to apply for one in the airport, hoping that it goes through in time No ESTA/ No flight
  6. My September anthem has no lobster. The menus look different too, for the better I'd say with themes such as a taste of royal classics. A taste of the world. Taste of Carribbean and a taste of the USA. Seems more of the old dishes are featured.
  7. Please don't call it a visa it's not. It's an electronic approval to travel to the EU. Same as the USA ESTA that USA makes visa waiver countries apply for before travel. Saying it's a visa is confusing as a visa requires an embassy visit and bring without a passport while it's processed this is not the case here.
  8. It's 50% off the on board price that seems to vary according to the weather and god knows else. Most sales you seem to save a few dollars off the full online price. Sometimes you catch a deal but they are few and far between.
  9. The problem is Indi will be what - 18 years old or so when it comes over and MSC have ships just a few years old as do others, given RC like to charge a premium and MSC is at the moment going low ball it will be interesting to see how well the ship does. I sailed Indi from PC and it's very dated- but it was ok in a warm climate, a cold sail from UK, there's not much to do on the ship, even the solarium is outdoor. I just think people will look and think there are better offerings about, they are playing right into MSC hands.
  10. It seems pretty much wherever you sit you get a restricted view of something, its a bit of a bad design in that respect.
  11. I suppose it depends where the new terminal ends up. Apparently they want to build a new bridge that would prohibit most ships from docking- so that's probably the biggest driver here. If they really wanted to 'clean up' Amsterdam they would remove the red light district, but I assume it earns them too much tax revenue.
  12. Well the first line of the article does read Amsterdam's council has banned cruise ships from the city centre
  13. Get a taxi/ uber. It will take you under the Clifton suspension bridge and can drop you by the Riverside near to the city centre. There's lots of bars there and the SS great Britain Can't see it costing more than £15-20 it's a straight drive down one road
  14. Main thing I've found is get off early as soon as you can. Enjoy the morning and early afternoon and watch it get steady more busy then when you have had enough leave and again avoid the masses back to the ship. The people who moan it's over crowded are the ones looking for a place to sit at 11.30am.
  15. As I suspected only club royale USA can take the payment. It's very annoying when the hold times are so long. I'm in UK and use a free phone access number to call USA so it's not so bad. But they don't make things easy for you do they!
  16. The IT gremlins strike again. Royal cannot process any payments at moment. Trying to buy a beverage package but unable too online or on phone!
  17. 3 times from Southampton now and nobody has ever checked your time slot. They don't seem to care at all.
  18. Call club royale they will take the payment over the phone. I think only club royale can handle the payment. The booking number won't get activated until after payment is taken.
  19. The sip will be mid route from Barcelona so there is no need to have to wait for the ship to get the all clear before you can board, I got there an hour before my time and walked straight on, there were no lines at all.
  20. If you not been to either city then I would choose Rome over Barcelona. Not that Barcelona is bad. It's not but there is so much history in Rome and so many iconic things to see it makes up for the hassle of getting to the port. I believe the app works on interporting now and you also get an orange sail card from Rome which makes you look important for about 20 seconds 😀
  21. From a very un scientific scan on my last anthem from uk I'd say over 80% were British. My anthem in march from Bayonne we were told we were the only Brits on board as passengers. Joff told us that when we said hello! No idea if that was true but every voice was American/ Canadian that we heard. I'd say the USA Market is vital to them but with more ships and bigger ships coming on line they have to seek out new markets. You can't sail all those big ships to Coco cay at once ! I'm not looking forward to Indi from UK..the way the economy is going with inflation and interest rates I got a feeling they will have to cut prices especially on an older ship. Maybe it will turn into a bargain. Who knows
  22. My anthem trip in September just opened up. Some really low upgrade min bids. I'm in oceanview and it's a min of $50pp for a balcony 55 for restricted view balcony and $200 for a jr suite.
  23. Will give you playmakers I liked how it was open to the casino and was modern. The rest was just dated. I think people who moan about anthem haven't been on the older ships and seen his dated they are.
  24. Having been on both I found indy dated and in need of a good clean. I'd take anthem any day With all the new ships sailing from Southampton it will be interesting to see how well it goes. I won't be going anywhere near that 1990s looking bling bucket.
