KayS - Years ago on the Veendam, there was a singer who had played Christine in "Phantom of the Opera" for over 10 years on Broadway. Her voice was beautiful. She sang songs from the show. I hope that HAL will bring back music and singers from the Broadway shows! That would be great! 😊 I hope they will also have music from "Les Miserable!"

Petronillus - I like "MacArthur's Park" too! Back in the 70s and 80s, I went on cruises on the QE2. They had a radio show and you could call from your cabin to request songs. I requested "MacArthur's Park" a lot, and the DJ always played it. 😊

My stepfather and I were on the Zuiderdam last summer for the Voyage of the Vikings. I think a few people were surprised that we're taking the same cruise, but we love the itinerary, the ship, the crew, food, etc. We are going round trip from Boston, which is very convenient for us. The stops in Scotland will be replaced by Oslo and Dublin. We're looking forward to it. 😊

The Mariners luncheon on the Zuiderdam last summer was very nice. I don't remember the exact menu, but the food was very good. Officers were there and the Captain said (I'm paraphrasing) "thank you for your loyalty. That's why we're here." As we were leaving, they gave us the tiles.

Michelle - I agree with you that people should ask waiters for what they want. My stepfather and I have not been to CO restaurant, but in other restaurants he asked for an appetizer in the entree size. I have asked for half portions sometimes or an entree to be in appetizer size. I have asked for creme brulee when it wasn't on the menu. All requests were given. The only thing I regret not asking for was seconds on chocolate souffle in PG. Hopefully, I will do it this summer. Thanks again for all your wonderful updates, great pictures and menus. 😊

Thanks for all the menus. Why do they put bourbon in a Cosmopolitan? I ordered it on Niew Statendam and on Zuiderdam and they always had vodka, NOT bourbon! If someone doesn't read the fine print, they could order a Cosmopolitan not knowing that it has bourbon in it! Sorry to rant, but I think it's misleading. On a happier note, I would order the trout! 😊

I always thought that dressy nights were on a sea day and not on a port day.

It would be nice to know in advance when the "dressy nights" would be. I used to ask the photographers when the next one would be and they told me. Also, some people don't know in advance about the Orange Party. It would be helpful to know so something orange could be packed. Otherwise, you would have to buy something orange in the shops if you wanted to go to the party.

If my memory is correct, I don't think the contact info for port agents was printed on daily program on my cruises in 2022 and 2023. Years ago on the Veendam, the daily program had the name of the port agent, address and phone number. This would be very helpful.

I didn't grow up in Maine, but I've lived in Kennebunk for the last 11 years. I think it's a great place. I like the fact that HAL sails out of Boston. It's very convenient.

Maine will get snow starting Wednesday night into Thursday, so I am really enjoying tagging along on your wonderful cruise! 😊 Thanks for all the updates, great pictures and menus.
