  1. There is a Crooners on Enchanted. I've sat in it many an evening and during the day it's a great place to read.
  2. I had a question about shareholder OBC disappearing from a booking and the chat person told me they didn't have access to that sort of information, and I needed to talk to someone at the 800 number. So the more complex the question, the less valuable chat may be. YMMV.
  3. Call at exactly 0600 Pacific time. There is often a very good chance of getting someone quickly on the phone at the opening bell.
  4. Bingo! This also leads to the perennial question: Who is more obnoxious? Wine snobs or craft beer snobs? 🍷 🍻 Also, the Salty Dog Gastropub on Enchanted is also a waste of space, IMHO.
  5. It would also require the pharmacy in the Medical Center to actually stock Paxlovid. Perhaps they do, but perhaps not. From what I've read, it isn't prescribed routinely for passengers who test positive. They are just put into solitary and said, we'll talk to you in 5 days...
  6. Downsides to Thanksgiving at a restaurant is you can't get seconds on everything and I prefer dark meat to white meat. And do we get turkey sandwiches later that night while watching football?🏈
  7. Free at last, Free at last, Good Lord almighty, I'm Free at Last!
  8. Did you ride the camels? When I was on Arrcefe in May, I did the camel ride and now I know why they're called the "ship of the desert". I almost needed the Dramamine for a 20-minute ride.
  9. The next source of revenue for Carnival (and other lines by extension) will be selling time in regular pool loungers in 30- or 60-minute increments. If they can charge for a luxury experience like the Sanctuary and other fancy "elite" venues, why not the spots alongside the pool for the unwashed masses yearning to breathe free. You want a primo spot besides the pool for all day? What's it worth to you?
  10. Even dudes in solitary in the Super Max prisons get an hour a day outside their cell in the exercise yard, or so I hear... Can't they arrange for you to walk around the Sky Deck outside at 0500 when no one else is around?
  11. I hadn't remembered that William Schallert who played Patty's father, also played his identical twin brother, father of Cathy. The show sure saved a lot of money on principal actors by doing this.
  12. I hope Carnival is hiring bouncers from various NYC/South Beach/Las Vegas nightclubs to actually enforce this policy.
  13. Sorry, but it was identical cousins. From the wiki on "The Patty Duke Show": "Duke starred in dual roles of "twin cousins" Patty and Cathy Lane." The Patty Duke Show - Wikipedia
  14. I hope some of the songs you were singing were "Folsom Prison Blues", "Workin' on The Chain Gang", and "I Fought the Law". And they should let you watch prison movies like "Shawshank Redemption", "Papillon", "Escape from Alcatraz", "Stalag 17", and "The Great Escape".
  15. I think I've seen fresh hoppin' john for sale in pint sized containers in the deli section at Lowe's Foods. Might also have seen it at Publix. If you can bring a bottle or two of wine aboard, why not a package of New Year's luck?
  16. There's a "Live from" thread about the Africa Grand Voyage that left FLL last week. The author of that thread said that initially it was mandatory masking but posted today that the captain had changed that to "masking encouraged" after about 3 or 4 days at sea.
  17. I did a HAL cruise to Alaska on Nieuw Amsterdam from Vancouver the last week in September and enjoyed it immensely. It was also my first HAL cruise, and it was a very nice change of pace from PCL. BC and Alaska are very scenic when seen from the deck of cruise ship. If you're in NorCal, you could take a couple of days to drive to Vancouver, take the cruise and drive home.
  18. Just beat the Dawgs and we'll see you in Atlanta in early December. ROLL TIDE!
  19. They'll show the entire series, and unless ratings improve, never produce another edition.
  20. When someone throws you a softball, you have to hit it out of the park. Well played, senor, well played!
  21. How can I determine when a ship is in drydock? I have a 26 day Mediterranean/TA booked for next October/November on Oosterdam and it appears that the 14 days prior to sailing, Oosterdam is "off-line". Is that because it's going to be in the "ship spa" getting a bit of a short make-over? This isn't an issue if it's the case, but I'm curious.
  22. From what was said (or the way I interpreted what was said) it appeared to be a major decision going all the way up to Commodore Nash and perhaps the home office. This wasn't just some "there's no kids on board, open up the game room" type of thing.
