There is slightly more cover on the Beyond due to the addition of Deck 17. We decided for the EV over the PH because of the overhang. PH balcony looked small and dark. Plunge pool sealed the deal!

Nothing special there when we boarded at the secondary terminal in 2014. I believe it was designated T29. We've also boarded at T4 in 2016. Both were PH on the Constellation. Both times we were escorted directly to Michael's. Never even sat down in the terminal. Photo is from the master bath looking south from T29. Looking forward to Retreat boarding at T25 in November.

We intend to simply use the elevators to change floors. That door on Deck 16 is a bit heavy but it is intended to be a sea door. There's a little patio just outside the Deck 16 door on the Beyond. Looks comfortable and I don't recall them being there on the other E-class ships. Worst case, we can have the couch made into a downstairs bed. Worth a little inconvenience to have that balcony. Photo shows the Deck 16 door and patio for 15104 on the Beyond.

We requested a bottle of Bloody Mary mix (PH on Constellation). The butler came back with a large bottle about 20 minutes later. Seems he had to have a shouting match with the bartender in order to secure this treasure. He was still a little flustered when he related the story. We thought it was hilarious.

RS and above are considered 'upper suites". We book that level because we like to dine in the room. Embarkation is nice. We've always been escorted directly to Michael's.

On the Beyond does the Magic Carpet block balcony access?
danceswithphones replied to Salf777's topic in Celebrity Cruises
It is my understanding the Magic Carpet 'lives' on Deck 14 (Pool Deck) and only moves to Deck 2 or 5 when needed. -
I noticed others in my rollcall were getting Move Up offers but I had not (75 days out). The '21 day' message came up when I attempted to participate via the website. I contacted CelebrityMoveUp@Celebrity.com and requested an offer. They responded within a week. My situation may not have fit the normal criteria. I was already in an EV on the Beyond but wanted to be able to bid in an IC. Minimum bid is shown as $5k (pp).

I investigated this cabin, and the port-side version, several years ago. I'm attaching an image I took while we were docked in Key West. I recall that there was an advantage in that the balcony was angled and larger. The disadvantage is that the occupants of 6050 have an excellent view the 6048 balcony. I passed and ended up in 6147.

X sent me a 'final payment due' reminder at 105 days out.

Pricing for the Beyond is Beyond reason here
danceswithphones replied to Whinenowine's topic in Celebrity Cruises
My EV on the Beyond for November works out to $1,234 pp/pd. I booked it in November 2021 at the 50% off second guest rate. Prices are way up since then. It was the last EV available and none have come available in the mean time. I'm very comfortable on Celebrity. T-shirt and jeans cruising. The higher cost of an upper level suite gets us a dining table and we take all meals in the room. -
That is encouraging! We've done upper level suites before but it has been a while. We sail on November 8th. If we don't end up with monogrammed PJ's, I'll never hear the end of it. Never should have mentioned it to DW.

What is above room 8077 on Infinity?

Looks like a 'crew only' area. Could be housekeeping. -

People are still posting on the rollcall. -

We had a visit by an officer during our last sailing in a PH (Constellation). I assume the butler let her know we would be in the room. The visit was brief but appreciated. I'm a little iffy on her title but it may have been Hotel Services. She just dropped by to make sure we were happy.

Princess Introduces Bidding For Upgrades
danceswithphones replied to Syracusefan44's topic in Princess Cruises
Just the two of us. We usually book a PH. Iconic Suite and PH on the Beyond are both two bedroom. We are in an Edge Villa. Moving up would be a waste but I'll bid the minimum on the IC. I didn't like the location of the PH. EV has a plunge pool and a large verandah in Deck 15. -
Location, location, location...

I'm a sucker for magnets and pens. Probably have several lifetimes worth of X and Princess pens. We are on the Beyond in November.

DW always hides some M&M's or Gummi Bears in her purse for when I need a sugar fix about day 4.

Princess Introduces Bidding For Upgrades

Sounds like a logistical nightmare! This process is probably outsourced to people who wouldn't know a cruise ship it bite them on the *ss. -

I should have added NCL Upgrade Advantage to that list. -
