  1. Thats a shame.....the ride time is pretty much equal to drive time....making it much less appealing IMO. When you think of a high speed train you think of FFFFaassstttttttt....
  2. So it's taking 3.5hrs to get from MCO to Miami.....thats pretty darn slow for what they call a high speed rail.
  3. They do other than some have the bed facing in the aft direction some have the bed facing in the bow direction.
  4. The Maren is a different hotel.....this is the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina that is the topic of this thread https://www.hilton.com/en/hotels/fllgrhh-hilton-fort-lauderdale-marina/?SEO_id=GMB-AMER-HH-FLLGRHH&y_source=1_MTIyMDgxNi03MTUtbG9jYXRpb24ud2Vic2l0ZQ%3D%3D
  5. There is more than enough to keep a teenager occupied on both class ships. Oasis class and Odyssey are quite different. To very briefly summarize I would say Odyssey is more a traditional cruise ship experience but with all the bells and whistles. Oasis class is an entirely different cruise experience...it has a Central Park area....a Boardwalk area with an Aquatheater...not quite your traditional cruise ship design. Oasis class also has cabin options....not necessarily for the better or worse ...that most other class ships don't have so be careful choosing. Both have excellent entertainment but I would probably give Oasis class a bit of the edge there. Like suggested watch videos of both and see what seems like a better fit. I am not sure if you have ever sailed Celebrity...but essentially Odyssey is a Solstice class ship that was "Royal Caribbeanized".
  6. I was on that Odyssey spring break sailing and while I did notice the damage to some of the elevators I never in 8 nights personally ran into any groups of unruly kids. I did hear the stories but fortunately didn't have it personally affect us....we however were sailing with no kids. That is unfortunately a spring break thing that can happen on any ship/cruise line when you put over 2000 kids together. I have been on many spring break sailings through the years and remember similar stories and occurances on pretty much all of them.
  7. I don't ever remember porters being available in any parking garage I have parked in at any port. I have always dropped my luggage off first at the terminal and then parked. For shorter length cruises I have just parked and rolled my own luggage over to the terminal.
  8. Like mentioned above...during the day, yes...you can hear when the shows are on as well as other activities on the boardwalk....you will also the dinging of the bell from the rock climbing walls. At night it should be fairly quiet...don't remember ever being woken up by noise and I am a lite sleeper.
  9. If your original booking price drops after final payment your only option is to try to upgrade to a higher category cabin if available. If you booked a balcony you may want to see if you can upgrade into a junior suite of equal or higher value than you paid. Of if you booked an Oceanview you may want to see if you can upgrade into a balcony that is equal price or higher than what you paid. You will have to pay the additional price difference for anything that prices out over what you originally paid.
  10. Even with a scheduled 9am opening today of FLL airport....it will be days before that airport is back to normal operations.
  11. FLL Airport still closed .....reported to now reopen 9am today.
  12. Barefoot beach cabanas are often open for anyone to book....you don't just have to be in a suite or pinnacle.
  13. Odyssey has a separate Izumi and the reservation fee covers the following as per Royal's site.... What's Included Start off with one (1) small plate, like Miso Soup or Pork Gyoza Dumplings. Pick your choice of two (2) large plates from a selection of signature rolls, sushi & sashimi, flavorful bowls of ramen and more. Top it all off with one (1) delicious dessert like mochi ice cream offered in a variety of flavors.
  14. So weird...I called Club Royale again yesterday like 4PM and they picked right up.
  15. Just had this issue recently on Odyssey out of Port Everglades....was in a JS but "suite" wasn't showing up on the app set sail pass. The work around it was to download the set sail pass to your apple wallet and then the word "suite" would show up on it in the wallet.
  16. Priority boarding for Diamond Diamond Plus ended pre-covid.
  17. This is exactly the best way to make the most of both benefits. I was just recently on Odyssey and talked with the Voom person onboard. She said the D+ benefits and Prime benefit is not combinable....so you must first use up your D+ free 2 days and then I purchased the package from her for the rest of the sailing after I used the 2 days and she instantly applied the 30% off benefit to it. Since you don't depart till late afternoon/evening on day one...I just used my D+ for day 2 and 3 and then purchased with my Prime discount on Day 4 for the rest of the sailing. Just make sure to put your phone on airplane mode when you depart on day 1.
  18. Columbia now has a smaller venue called Columbia Cafe right near the port in Channelside inside the Tampa History Center...same great food. Also when in St Pete you may want to check out the Chihuly Collection...worth a visit.
  19. There is actually a website out there where you can upload any comp cruise offers you have and other cruise lines will bid against them with their own offers. I haven't used it myself but know other people who successfully have to trade their current offers for other cruise lines.
  20. Call Club Royale and ask your question...just saying.
  21. While I don't disagree on that being the general age demographics on Celebrity....Edge class in particular was designed to try to attract a younger crowd to Celebrity.
