  1. We completed a 28 day on the grand last month and attended most evenings. We met a lot of very nice people, enjoyed the canapés and the live music And the room was full most nights. And we were so well looked after by the bartenders especially as they got to know our likes. It was a very enjoyable experience before our later dinner Terry
  2. Really enjoying your descriptions. Especially the local food ones. And the photos. Thank you Terry
  3. But Americans won’t take Canadian.
  4. We disembarked on 28 October. No final bill or charge to our credit card yet. Wondering if they are waiting till the end of the next segment. Which is weird as it should be this week sometime. I thought it was 2nd november but it could be wrong as I wasn’t interested. I’ll await and see. I’m sure it will come this week sometime Terry
  5. Our account as closed out after the first week but not charged. Funnily enough we have been home over a week. We haven’t had a bill or our CC charged yet Terry
  6. It was sold as a 28 day cruise and at the end of the first week we had a bill for the “coastal cruise”. It really didn’t make a difference as I’m elite anyway so his laundry was done and we had discounts Terry
  7. My husband reached elite on the first segment of our 28 days transpacific last month His status didn’t change during the cruise
  8. On the Grand transpacific now. She was the first ship we ever cruised on way back. ( can’t remember the date). Love it still. Also sailed the Tahitian Princess our favourite cruise around French Polynesia. Then she stopped sailing that exclusive itinerary and her name changed. But loved that size of ship. We also sailed the regal on its maiden TA. The ship was gorgeous. Balcony a bit too small though. But I wouldn’t like to savile anything larger than the Royal class
  9. Thank you for all the help and suggestions about using lifecenters. Did our test this morning before we leave for Vancouver and our transpacific. Couldn’t have been easier. And pleased to say we were negative, so NZ here we come
  10. We’ve been debating the same for our transpacific next week. I love using my camera but I also get great pics on my iPhone. I think I’ll take the camera. It’s not that big to carry
  11. Of course they do. They seem to think it’s their right to know everything that’s going on in a medivac. I could tell a few tales
  12. Retired now but worked for 6 years as a cruise ship nurse I’ve been winched up to a hovering helicopter. The safety officer told us that the safety team including firefighters, was to ensure the safety of the ship, not the medivac team if anything did go wrong, we on the bow were toast, scariest thing I’ve ever done terry
  13. The crew purser is sometimes able to change currency
  14. My close friend has a wonderful CVP. So I called and Left a message asking her to call me. Never replied. I’ll just rely on myself in future
  15. Our cvp is totally useless. Never replies to emails or voice messages. I know more about cruising then she does and we’ll never use her again
  16. The bridge is one of the quietest places in a ship
  17. Our CVP is useless, first time I’ve used one. I sent her a question pertaining to our upcoming transpacific cruise on Memorial Day weekend. Still waiting for an answer (can’t remember what the question was now but I obviously sorted it). Another time it took 2 emails an 3 voice mails and then calling as soon as the office opened before I got any response. Won’t use one again
  18. Thank you. And for replying so quickly. Terry
  19. Hi everyone. In September we cruise from Vancouver on a Monday and have flights booked on the Sunday to spend overnight in Vancouver. I know we need to have a covid test within 2 days of sailing. We were planning on getting one on arrival in Vancouver but would prefer to get one here on Ontario on the Saturday afternoon. (Just in case we are positive and we can isolate at home). If we had a test on the Saturday afternoon would you Interpret that as within 2 days or are we cutting it a bit fine? thank you
  20. We go to the uk alot(pre covid) to visit family. It always amazes us to see the amount of booze being consumed in airport bars at 0600 not just in the North but at LGW and LHR Terry
  21. We connected through Montreal to Barcelona in may and return. No problems whatsoever, but I always pack my hand luggage to allow that my cases may not arrive with me
  22. As understand it, ArriveCAN is connected to your passports they don’t actually need to see it once it’s completed. We arrived back in Canada in may and the only ones being asked to see proof were those who hadn’t filled it in. There was a dedicated desk to help people fill it in. All those who had submitted were just checked through normally
  23. So glad you were able to get the more precise details I can’t find my notes but buchalm has brought it all back to mind. I love the train journey. A lot of the stations were extremely pretty Victorian buildings We used the opal card for the trains, buses to Bondi and to take the ferry out to manly. It’s a great way to see the city And it’s a great city
  24. I’m sorry I can’t. We changed our internet provider and I lost all my notes. We bought a 5 day transport ticket that covered buses, ferries and trains and boy did we use it. I think we took a bus to the station. . I’m away this weekend. When I get back I’ll go through my diary and see what we did. Terry
  25. We were there a few years ago on a land tour We took the train out. Beautiful journey. And at the final stop we took a HoHo bus. Then went for a hike through the forest. It was a lovely day out We just looked up all the trains ect. Very easy to do
