  1. Not much to do except for White bay beach which is absolutely stunning. Seabourn had a free shuttle running from the tender dock to the beach all day.
  2. We just returned from BA and used Howard from BA Taxis. He is a brit who moved to BA about 18 years ago. Fantastic guide and very reasonable. Excellent communication by either email or WhatsApp. Here is his contact info: Howard +54 9 11 5164 1006 or you can contact BA Taxis https://www.buenosairestaxis.com Not sure when you are leaving but I booked him 6 months ahead of time. He is very popular and busy.
  3. I know many on these boards will disagree with me, but as a Celebrity elite and someone in their 50s I much prefer Celebrity. I just finished our second Viking cruise and will tell you the entertainment and food are superior on Celebrity. Viking mostly had mah jong and bridge on sea days. It is very quiet and most people do not want activities. The included wines were in my opinion low end and extremely dry so we got the SSBP on the last cruise but the selection was still very limited. For instance not a single Pinot noir by the glass. Moat of the included tours were short bus tours, not much walking. For us the value was not there, as you mentioned it is much more expensive with no liquor or gratuities included. Luckily there are cruise choices to make everyone happy 😊
  4. We just came off the Jupiter yesterday. Each night in The Restaurant there was vegan options on the menu with three choices. We tried a few of them and like the regular menu there were some good ones and some bad ones. As others have mentioned the cafe has a nice selection of vegan items at the salad bar station, although eating 2 or 3 meals there a day gets old quickly (at least it did for us).
  5. We just tendered there last week. It was about a 15-20 minute ride and it was not rough at all. We actually had very good weather and seas that day even though they told us no ships made it in the day before us. They do use the ships life boats, I didn’t see any other type of tender that might be used locally.
  6. Yes. We were only talking about general announcements on the TV.
  7. Well the good news is that it’s not your memory 😀. I spoke to a couple different techs and yes, when the Jupiter was new it was able to broadcast the PA announcements on the bridge channel. Unfortunately it no longer does. The only Information I could gather was that it broke and they decided not to fix it. No explanation why.
  8. I am on the Jupiter now and there are no announcements on the stateroom tv (bridge cam or any other channel). We have had very poor weather and need to listen to the Captains updates which requires us to open our cabin door.
  9. I have my sonicare electric toothbrush plugged in the bathroom and it works fine. Also plug my electric clippers in there with no issues
  10. I am on Jupiter now. Here is a picture of the nightstand as well as the desk outlets.
  11. There is one in the shower and one above the toilet.
  12. The pool bar was open until 7 PM the first two nights but stayed open until 10 PM last night since they were showing the NFL games at the pool.
  13. There are no dates anywhere on the menu. I asked both the living room bar and Explorers lounge bar If these were the new menus and they said yes.
  14. Sorry for the delay, it’s been a busy first couple days on board. I see some of it has been posted but I will post the entire menu.
  15. No. Mixers are included in the price
  16. We boarded the Jupiter today in Valparaiso. Was not expecting to be able to watch the NFL games after reading many posts Viking doesn’t show live sports. Here we are at the main pool with the roof open watching the live games on the big screen! Beautiful sunny day here with a nice buffet set up at the pool grill.
  17. I'm boarding Jupiter on Saturday. If no one posts the new menu in the next few days I will do it.
  18. Don't feel bad about doing that, there are many people who do the same. For years and years the only people that received tips were the waiters and room stewards. Now certain cruise lines expect the passengers to pay part of the salaries of the kitchen staff, maintenance, etc.
  19. The ribeye in Manfredi's on the Star in October was extremely thin. They apologized but said they didnt have any thick cut even though that is the menu description. They were also out of Osso bucco. I am hoping the food on Jupiter next week is much better. For me, Regent has the best food of any cruise line.
  20. There is more than one option (volunteer point) in the Falklands. Look at Gypsy cove, Bluff cove lagoon, Newmans station and Berthas beach. If you’re going to Punta Arenas you can walk with thousands of penguins at Magdalena island. Ushuaia has some good options as well like Martillo island. Puerto Madryn has Punta Tombo and El Pedral… lots of opportunities.
