  1. Sorry for the delay, it’s been a busy first couple days on board. I see some of it has been posted but I will post the entire menu.
  2. No. Mixers are included in the price
  3. We boarded the Jupiter today in Valparaiso. Was not expecting to be able to watch the NFL games after reading many posts Viking doesn’t show live sports. Here we are at the main pool with the roof open watching the live games on the big screen! Beautiful sunny day here with a nice buffet set up at the pool grill.
  4. I'm boarding Jupiter on Saturday. If no one posts the new menu in the next few days I will do it.
  5. Don't feel bad about doing that, there are many people who do the same. For years and years the only people that received tips were the waiters and room stewards. Now certain cruise lines expect the passengers to pay part of the salaries of the kitchen staff, maintenance, etc.
  6. The ribeye in Manfredi's on the Star in October was extremely thin. They apologized but said they didnt have any thick cut even though that is the menu description. They were also out of Osso bucco. I am hoping the food on Jupiter next week is much better. For me, Regent has the best food of any cruise line.
  7. There is more than one option (volunteer point) in the Falklands. Look at Gypsy cove, Bluff cove lagoon, Newmans station and Berthas beach. If you’re going to Punta Arenas you can walk with thousands of penguins at Magdalena island. Ushuaia has some good options as well like Martillo island. Puerto Madryn has Punta Tombo and El Pedral… lots of opportunities.
  8. For what cruise line? That is not true for ALL cruise lines. We are on a 17 night on Viking and there is NO testing.
  9. That is what I had thought. Surprised it says 50% savings now 🙁
  10. 50% discount for premium tasting events? Didn’t those used to be free with the package?
  11. Try asking on the South America boards also. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/47-south-america/
  12. If it was scheduled for this year wouldn’t you think all of the materials, furniture, etc would have already been purchased? I just read the other thread about it but there doesn’t seem to be any solid answers from Oceania which is very disappointing.
  13. I think I must have missed something about Marina. Is the Next upgrade no longer scheduled for October 2023? I booked a summer 2024:cruise on Marina with the understanding the Next refurbishment would be complete.
  14. That would be awful if they are expecting people to pay the difference. This should only be for new bookings. It’s only right that if someone prepaid their SS package or their gratuities they should be price protected.
  15. Maybe it’s different for the Caribbean or for men. There were many people (including me) who went from their pool chair to the cafe on sea days. I just threw a T shirt on and my flip flops, along with many others and no one even took a second look. It’s very casual for lunch. Of course I never worry about what others are wearing as it has no bearing on my cruise.
  16. When you are on the Regent website, find your cruise and right under "Itinerary and excursions" you will see a link to click to have the brochure emailed to you. Heres a link to your sailing: https://www.rssc.com/cruises/GRA240108/summary?source=CruiseSearch&m=2024-1&r=CARMX Suites and concierge can book a little earlier than other categories but so far we haven't had any issues getting the tours we want. We were waitlisted once but it cleared in about a week (we were in concierge). Also be aware you cannot cancel tours on line, you must call Regent to change or cancel them.
  17. There is no testing requirement for Argentina (currently), however each cruise line has their own policies. You would need to check with who you are sailing on.
  18. I sailed on both Viking and Regent this year and definitely feel the food was far better on Regent, both in quality and selection. I think Regent had the best food I have ever had on a ship, and thats 30+ plus years of cruises. For me I would not want anything smaller than a Penthouse veranda for a WC. The deluxe veranda was quite tight with very minimal storage and we were only on a 14 night.
  19. As a Celebrity Elite+ it is very hard to compare the two cruise lines as they are totally different experiences. Based on your information I would recommend Celebrity. Viking is 900 passengers, small and quiet. Dont expect much to do at night as far as big production shows, casino, lively bars etc. The food was very hit and miss on our first Viking cruise in October and overall the service was good but definitely some room to improve. With having to pay for drinks outside of lunch/dinner hours, and pay for gratuities we didn't feel Viking was a good value for the price paid compared to Celebrity and other all inclusive lines. We are on Viking again next month but so far I think Celebrity is a better fit for me at this point with more to do, more food options, and much more entertainment/activities.
  20. Alicia’s bicycle tours are very popular. They bring the bikes right to the port and do an easy ride around the city. https://biketoursuruguay.com/en/tours/tours-en-punta-del-este/
  21. They felt the beach and the area were far below Viking standards. They were all crammed together in a small area and told that’s the only place they could go. They all asked to go back to the ship and were told no, they had to do it on their own. If you haven’t been before I would recommend Dunns Falls or if you want to go to a beach Doctors Cave is very nice. West Bay was also beautiful in Routan with fantastic snorkeling right off the beach.
