Smoke free EXCEPT for outdoor smoking areas. On Celebrity, which is indoor smoke free, there are designated OUTDOOR areas for both guests and crew. Everyone is happy with this policy.

ALL cruises should be smoke free and prohibited everywhere except designated outdoor areas.

It’s a sign of the times and the cruise industry is now catching up to the demands of their guests. I’m sure Princess will provide cigar smokers a comfortable outdoor area. Indoor smoking is becoming a thing of the past, thank goodness.

Totally agree! Now, if Princess would just catch up and prohibit all indoor smoking, specifically the casino, there would be a lot more ecstatic passengers.

You are correct. We’re Elite Plus and above that is Zenith and no one can achieve those levels unless you have earned them yourself aboard a Celebrity ship.

I have not forgotten. However, the MDR and outdoor grill are the mainstays of the cruise industry. If they became extra charge, you can kiss cruising goodbye. It will never happen.

We’ve done both. Only once over Christmas with tons of families and kids everywhere. Lots of activities for them, and yes, Santa made an appearance for the little ones and he gave out small presents. Full Christmas dinner in the MDR. Most shops in the ports are closed. Not a cruise we would do again. On the other hand, we’ve always enjoyed New Years cruises. Not as many kids and more of an adult vibe. New Year’s Eve is fun. Celebrations everywhere in the lounges and out on deck. Lots of entertainment all over the ship and the ship is rocking til the wee hours. We’re actually doing a Celebrity cruise this New Years and it will be terrific, as always.

That is exactly why I only book with my CVP. She’s a Floridian and speaks English. I don’t need the frustration of using a regular rep. Haven’t done that in years.

I would never book a cruise without my CVP! She is a gem and I appreciate her help with booking, refaring or making any changes to existing bookings, I’ve never had to wait on hold, never had the frustration of not understanding language or inexperienced agents.

You don’t need to pay sc twice. Just don’t leave the extra tip that you normally did in the past. I’m sure the waitstaff are fully prepared to lose that extra cash.

As far as I know the 2 SD belong to guest #1 and another guest in the same cabin. I doubt if you can share with someone in a different cabin. However, I’m sure one of our esteemed members could give you a more definitive answer.

Flying in the same day gives me heart palpitations just thinking about. I stress out if it’s just one day prior! Two is good!

We pay US for excursions even though our cruise is paid in Canadian.

Yes, I’m aware of this but there is no offer of OBC in any amount currently online. That promo might have been only available on Monday or Tuesday, but to be honest I was on the Princess site both days and never saw the offer of OBC. Very strange. The promo ad you posted doesn’t even look like what I would normally see on the Princess website. Where do you see this offer? An email directly from Princess or travel company?

I’m assuming that this promo for Cyber Monday and Travel Tuesday is over.

You are too kind, my friend. You are one of the reasons I visit these boards every day! There is still a lot I enjoy with Princess, like some really nice itineraries, mini suites, the IC, the packages (which are the best and least expensive of any line) and the crew, of course. So, Princess will always have a place in my heart. If they would just fix the darn smoking policy!

So much drama! Just get a CVP who can book these cabins the same as any other cabins. No extra time or work involved. So darn easy.

All casinos in Canada are all nonsmoking indoors, including the adjacent hotels. It is wonderful!

I respect your opinion, but Celebrity casinos, IMHO, are far superior. One day Princess will enter this century and prohibit all indoor smoking. Time will tell.

That is our #1 complaint for sure. I love to spend my evenings, and my money, in the casino after dinner with a couple of cocktails. I can accomplish this on Celebrity. I cannot on Princess.

How is smoking in the casino civilized? Smoke is smoke. Even a small amount is too much. The casino should be nonsmoking. Period.

Oh, wow! We’re Elite+ and have never experienced this on Celebrity. Perhaps those two times, you were just very unlucky. Did you do a search before booking?

I agree with you in principle, however if I want one of these cabins I just tell my CVP and it’s done, no muss no fuss. It’s literally zero extra work or stress for me.
