  1. Sorry, but not the most reliable source of information.
  2. Where did you hear this rumour? Just curious.
  3. Our favourite is Celebrity with Princess being a close second. For us, Celebrity ticks all the boxes as far as the ships and the onboard experience. Staterooms are definitely nicer on Celebrity. Food used to be better on X but now not so much. Edge class ships are marvellous. If you sail on Beyond you will probably be privileged to have Captain Kate at the helm. She is probably the most personable and dynamic cruiseship captain you will ever meet. That ship just feels special because of her presence onboard. This would be our choice. I have to ask why you’ve chosen Concierge class. You really don’t get much, unless you love the cabin location. Other than that, the rest is really just fluff. I would take a standard balcony or upgrade to Aqua Class, if only to get Blu as a dining venue. To be honest, we stopped booking Aqua because to us the food in Blu just wasn’t worth the hype anymore. But, that just us, as some people still love it. Also, there are standard balconies available not only Infinity balconies. We like the ones aft on deck 6 close to Eden. I think you’ll find that Princess and Celebrity are quite comparable and you would enjoy either one. Just do your homework and choose whichever ship gives you more of what you’re looking for.
  4. If I receive a bag that’s fine and if I don’t that’s fine, too. Such a non issue for me. Only very high end stores give bags (with their logo, of course) where I live. We take our own and have done so for years. If Princess doesn’t give me one, I’ll just have it delivered to my cabin or just take it back myself without a bag. Really not a big deal at all.
  5. You are both so lovely! Happy Anniversary to two very special people. Loving your pics and I’m looking forward to lots more!
  6. I’m aware of the member you are referring to and the comments. Hard to believe someone wishes for an accident to happen. Hope you’re right about the cameras
  7. Yes, lots of taxis available to take you to your hotel or cruise terminal. It’s a short ride, so you don’t need a private car.
  8. Dine My Way - scroll to View or Book Individual Daily Reservations. Click on Add Reservations. From there you can choose your restaurant and days and times and add it to your reservation.
  9. I was thinking exactly the same thing! Someone is instructed specifically to put their tray outside the door and then they open their door and step on a glass because someone else doesn’t like it. So inconsiderate and potentially dangerous!
  10. I like it frothy! Shake, shake shake!
  11. We would never have dinner before 7pm even at home. On a ship we prefer 7:30 to 8:00+.
  12. That’s a shame you can’t do it! We have Premier and I was able to book our 2 SD that are included with no issues and then booked a third for which we had to pay. I guess I was just one of the lucky ones.
  13. I like a Gimlet, prefer gin to vodka but will take either in a pinch, half and half alcohol/lime juice and a touch of simple syrup, shaken with ice and strained into a proper martini glass with a wheel of fresh lime on the side. Delish.
  14. My drink is GG orange, tonic and float an orange slice. Or Hendricks gin and cucumber tonic. Simple. My DH single malt neat. Simple. Your libations sound lovely, but not the fake ones they serve on Princess apparently.
  15. We have friends that are currently on Seabourn Encore and they overnighted in Istanbul Friday and Saturday, so some ships are still visiting. Who knows what will happen down the road. You can rest assured that ports will change if there is any risk. You may be notified prior to your cruise, but it could happen while you’re onboard. When you cruise flexibility is crucial.
  16. We always stay at Moxy, beside WestQuay Mall and very close to other restaurants and bars. They have a great breakfast buffet included and it’s quite British fare. Lots to do in the area. Just a short walk up the road to a lovely Boots where I stock up on cosmetics. Very clean and modern hotel and we really love it.
  17. My husband’s cardiologist told him to eat less Vitamin K and to restrict spinach. However, you would have to eat a great quantity to really make an effect. As long as you have been testing within the normal range for the past few months, you should have no problem. My husband was just fine. Have a wonderful cruise!
  18. Exactly. Warfarin and INR testing is nothing to be played around with. My husband has been dealing with this for 14 years and was in critical condition once due to an inaccurate INR test. The only people the OP should be consulting is their cardiologist or family physician.
  19. Indeed, things have changed in the cruise industry over the years. We find cruising in Europe to be very different than in the Caribbean. We just go with the flow now, do our own thing and just ignore the rest. We enjoy looking nice, but that seems to not be the norm any longer and that’s okay. I hope you enjoy your cruise on Sky. She is lovely.
  20. Thanks for letting us know this! Whatever works for you is fine. Perhaps they are much more flexible at breakfast than at dinner.
  21. Your son would be charged full price at 13 years old. No, you aren’t allowed to bring food into the specialty restaurants. However, if you speak to the restaurant manager a day or so ahead of time, they can most probably put together a plate with things in their kitchen that your son would enjoy. Princess is great for making meals off menu to please everyone. Don’t worry you’re son will be taken care of.
  22. Yes, you are correct. My niece was 13 when she accompanied her parents to Sabatini’s and was charged full price. She loved it!
  23. This is a very dangerous thing to do away from your home and doctor. If your INR results are not 100% accurate and the count is actually over the acceptable range you could literally bleed to death from a shaving nick. Why would anyone trust a home testing kit on a cruiseship with limited medical capability? Our doctor insists that the blood be drawn by a medical professional and the results read by an accredited lab. My husband switched to another blood thinner that does not require INR testing and is much safer and more reliable. Yes, it’s very expensive but our insurance plan covers it. I hope the OP gets the advice they Ned from their doctor and not here on CC or on the phone with a Princess rep.
