  1. We also have a ton of OBC for our September sailing and plan on upgrading from Plus to Premier when we board.
  2. I think they’re referring to the latest implementation of charges for the casual restaurants and room service charges. Princess did not inform guests about these changes even after final payment. Thus, not getting what they paid for.
  3. It’s probably not a change at all, just typical Princess booking glitches that get sorted out. I wouldn’t get too worried about it, but do have your TA confirm your original booking amenities. So frustrating!
  4. It will be shipped to you with a lanyard, which is complimentary. The other accessories can be purchased onboard or you can order one on the app. Amazon also carries AirTag holders that fit the Medallion and are quite inexpensive.
  5. Thanks! I must be thinking of a different cruiseline.
  6. For some reason I thought that every cabin was equipped with a coffee/tea set up if you’re sailing a British Isles itinerary. Did I just imagine this or am I thinking about a different cruiseline?
  7. Love this port! We actually brought on 2 bottles each expecting to pay corkage, but nobody even cared. Some folks had a case and no problem. This was back in precovid months, so things might have changed.
  8. I think it’s probably a UK thing, since that’s where the OP is located. They have so many different protocols and rules and promos!
  9. Turned to Blue Lane overnight from Green! Being Canadian, Medallions are pier pick up. We have Priority Embarkation, but doubt if that’ll make much difference.
  10. Priority embarkation for suites and Platinum/Elite. Priority lounge in most terminals. No priority embarkation for Plus or Premier. Keep in mind that things change rapidly in this new Princess world. lol
  11. I’m exhausted just trying to read through even a couple of these posts, including yours. Thanks for replying to mine, but sorry, it’s still a heap of nonsense. Your choice is to pay the auto CA if you book standard fare or remove them, or book a Plus or Premier package and it’s a done deal, or you can fill an envelope with cash and hand it out to whomever you choose, or if you don’t like any of these choices, just don’t cruise. Why do you care how it’s distributed? It’s not your contract so not your business. That’s between employer and employee. You could try another cruiseline, oh sorry, but it’s the same. I am now done with this conversation and this thread. Talk about beating a dead horse.
  12. To be honest, I don’t give a flying fig how the gratuities are distributed. The crew member and the cruiseline have a contract to which each party agreed, including wages and gratuities. That is their business, not mine. We leave on the auto CA and tip with extra cash to those who went above the standard expectations. That’s my contribution to the pool and I don’t even give it a second thought. I just don’t understand all this discussion and concern about who gets what and when. The crew accepts the cruiseline policy regarding tips and so do I. My conscience is clear.
  13. Thanks for sharing! So nice to hear from folks who have something positive to say. Happy to hear the incident with the crane caused no casualties.
  14. No need to tip on top of the gratuity included in the package, unless you personally want to add an extra cash tip to a crew member who went above your expectations. We always tip extra for room service, our room steward, and, in most cases, our wait staff in the MDR. Of course, it’s completely up to you.
  15. We’ve visited many states over the years. Nevada, over 40! Florida, too many times to count. Alaska, twice and done. Hawaii once and done. Totally done with the Caribbean, too. Just a matter of enjoying a different culture and way of life and very interesting people. You can never see too much of Rome or London or Paris or Glasgow. So much history to be explored.
  16. It really is a far fetched idea, but it’s okay to fantasize. Doesn’t affect us at all, as we rarely do itineraries embarking or disembarking anywhere is the US, except for an odd TA here and there. We have no problem with Americans in the slightest, we’ve just been there, done that so many times and now we’ve moved on to different adventures.
  17. Not quite the ship I was thinking of! Royal class would be fine for us! We’ve booked Majestic for July 2025 on a TA from Southampton and our second to last port is Halifax then to Boston to disembark. We may just disembark in Halifax instead with permission from Princess. Would really love to embark in Halifax heading to Europe in the spring. Oh, to dream!
  18. Since we no longer travel within the US, we would love a home port on the east coast. We only sail to Europe, The Med and other far away destinations, so having an option to sail from Canada would be wonderful.
  19. Yes, that makes perfect sense. Isn’t ageing fun? I’m getting a new knee this fall and then another in the spring. I think caring for and lifting multiple dogs on and off has impacted my mobility. I might have to give that up sooner than I’d like.
  20. Yes, I totally understand your issues. As we age, falling is a major concern. I’m having difficulty with stairs, but I get it done….oh, so slowly. I know that Princess has upgraded their bathrooms, starting with the Sphere class, to glass shower stalls. Major improvement!
  21. True, but for the difference in price we could dine in the specialty restaurants every night and still have money left over. I know you really like Reserve Class and I respect that. However, for many of us, the value just isn’t there. Give me my standard mini on Lido and I’m happy. No wait dinner seating in Reserve is basically the same as specialty restaurants, Better food, no same as MDR with one extra something. Better service, no not better than the specialty restaurants. Breakfast/lunch, usually we’re off the ship early morning and most of the day so of no real value. I sincerely hope you enjoy your Reserve Class experience. We’re all different and what’s important to some is not for others. To each their own.
  22. If you’re on the ship, just ask any server in Horizon Court Buffet. It’s at the very back of the buffet, but it might have been moved.
  23. May I ask why? I do have some mobility issues (knees are bad), but using the grab bar to enter and exit the tub, I don’t have a problem. Not being disrespectful, just curious. Thank you.
